00:00Hear all about it. Let's start with Shohei Otani and Christopher Sanchez, who are absolute freaks.
00:06And Shohei Otani continues to be the alien of baseball, as evidenced by him lowering his ERA
00:12to a minuscule 0.74 last night while reaching base five times. But let's make sure simultaneously
00:23we give Christopher Sanchez his due as well. I mean, Sanchez finally gave up a run. The
00:31Phillies fans went absolutely nuts. He smiled, you know, 50 plus innings without giving up
00:37a run. It's kind of crazy, right? Otani has a 0.74 ERA and Sanchez hasn't given up a run.
00:44And, you know, Mizorowski has been unbelievable. And Skeens is terrific. The National League
00:51Cy Young race is going to be unreal down the stretch of the season. I mean, Otani, what
00:56he's able to do, six scoreless last night, that is just incredible. I mean, I'm just, I'm
01:05searching for words and descriptions. Six shutout innings, gets on base five times. It's not
01:13even fair to Babe Ruth to put Babe Ruth in the Shohei Otani category anymore. Just always
01:20stop and smell the roses here. And look, I think the Philadelphia Phillies and I think the LA Dodgers
01:26could eventually be on a collision course for the NLCS with all apologies to the fans of the
01:31Atlanta Braves. And I think that would be great for Major League Baseball. Bad news for the Green
01:36Bay Packers. Micah Parsons is going to be out until at least mid-October. It's been roughly five months
01:42since the ACL reconstruction. And we now know that his meniscus was also surgically repaired during the
01:47same time. And he spoke about it at Packers camp. I would definitely say it is hard for me to
01:53accept.
01:55Not only is it hard to accept that, you know, I'm going to miss more time than, you know, what
02:03I want,
02:04but obviously it's hard to accept the injury. Like that, it constantly replays in my brain,
02:09constantly thinking about how can I not do it. Like you don't even know how much time I spent on
02:14chat GBT about my injury and how to, like, like, I just can't accept like where I'm at. Like, I'm
02:20like, man, how do I keep progressing and progressing? Like, and it's just nonstop. So that's a very good
02:26question. It is, I haven't accepted it yet, but I work hard as hell every day trying to make sure
02:33that I will be better when it comes out of this. Quick check at my personal chat GBT when it
02:39comes to
02:39the schedule for the Green Bay Packers. At Minnesota, loss. At the Jets, loss. Atlanta. It's at home. I like
02:53the Falcons this year. Give them a win. At Tampa Bay, loss. The Chicago Bears at home, loss. The revenge
03:02game against the Dallas Cowboys. Loss. How about the Lions in Detroit? Loss. How about the Carolina
03:10Panthers at home? I'm just giving you the games until the end of October. Look, I think Packers
03:18are going to be atrocious this year. And when I say atrocious, I mean a last place team. I just
03:23don't
03:23think Jordan Love is good enough in any way, shape, or form, consistent enough in any way, shape,
03:27or form, to ultimately be someone who can go out and make up for not having Micah Parsons, who's an
03:33unbelievable ball player. This time frame was always the deal when you looked at it for this squad
03:42without question. And I think that's part of the equation here. But I just think that this team is
03:49done. I really do. I don't think the Green Bay Packers are going anywhere. I think they're finishing in
03:55last place when you take a look at the ultra-competitive NFC North. Micah Parsons did not
04:01play in the Bears and the Packers wildcard game that saw one of the wildest comebacks in recent
04:05memory. But he was in attendance all the way into the end to witness that 25-point fourth quarter
04:11Caleb Williams' unbelievable performance. The same cannot be said for Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson,
04:17with a shocking and perplexing admission. Getting in and out of Soldier Field is an absolute nightmare.
04:27Let me tell you how bad it is. Bears versus Packers. I'm at the game. We're losing. I decide to
04:33leave
04:34to beat the traffic. Before I get out of the footprint, the Bears had come back to win.
04:39The ingress, egress part, that's what we have to fix.
04:42Yeah, I don't know if Brandon Johnson is trying to sit here and make a case on why it's okay
04:52if the
04:52Bears leave Chicago and leave Illinois and go to Indiana. And by the way, I'm always sensitive to
04:59those kind of things if it matters to people who are fans. But the New York Giants and New York
05:06Jets
05:07play in New Jersey. Like, I'm just, I'm unfazed by things like that, right? You're the mayor of
05:14Chicago. You can't leave the game. And if you have to leave for some reason, you don't admit it. But
05:19let's go back to the first premise. Don't leave the game. You're the mayor of Chicago. That's one of
05:26the great sporting events in your city in quite some time. You can't leave the game. I don't know.
05:35Maybe here on that, Ben Johnson was already in a cranky mood before this.
05:40All on the same page. We're speaking the same language. And that's always a good starting point.
05:45Oh, my. Good.
05:48Now that you've got a year under your belt, how does it feel? How do you feel about
05:52your position, what you're doing, the people you're working with?
05:55Somebody want to take their phone. So I'm going to interrupt it again. Thanks.
06:02How does it feel to be a year under your belt going into your second year with what you've learned?
06:09So, I'm going to defend Ben Johnson here. A couple of things that I believe in.
06:17Number one, don't mess with someone's work. Don't mess with someone's time. And I think,
06:25and the reporter whose phone, not, you know, part of the younger generation, clearly it was an
06:32accident, right? But Ben Johnson should be pissed off. It's a weird thing nowadays where everyone's
06:39got their phone on. You know what I'd do? I might miss a call from my wife or one of
06:43my kids.
06:43Because my phone is always off. Because I'm always working. I'm always on the air.
06:48You know what you do when you're in that kind of setting? You make sure your phone is off,
06:53especially in 2026 where phones are pseudo microphones and you're videotaping everything
07:00and recording everything and it's your phone. Just make sure the phone is on silent. What are we
07:06doing here? Where's the respect? Where's the respect for the coach? The respect for the head of
07:12public relations? The respect for the other reporters and journalists in the room? Nothing
07:17bothers me more than when you don't respect someone's time or ability to work. So I know
07:25people on the internet, oh, Ben Johnson, chill out. Don't be cranky. Ben Johnson is talking
07:32to the press. That's part of his job responsibility. He doesn't want to be there all day. And if he's
07:38going to do it and answer questions, might not want to be distracted by a phone ringing.
07:45That bothers me. Absolutely bothers me. So I'm not going to rip the reporter. I really think
07:51it was an accident. It's more of a societal thing. Just put your damn ringer on silent.
07:58I mean, I don't care if you're doing a job. I don't care if you're going to a kid's recital.
08:02There, just keep the ringer off. Show a little respect. My goodness.
08:09My phone's going to be abuzz tonight as I'm watching game two of the Stanley Cup final in
08:15Raleigh. I can't wait for it. I'd be floored. Absolutely stunned if the Hurricanes lost.
08:20Game one of this series was an absolute banger. And I think that you're going to see the Carolina
08:27Hurricanes bounce back. Vegas is tough. Vegas is clutch. You know, Eichel and Marner and
08:33Torts and company, unbelievable. Seth Jarvis, if you're looking for a little prop tonight,
08:39he's going to score. Rod Brindamore was pissed that his stars did not come to play, and rightly so.
08:45I could not believe they lost this game after they were up to nothing. I mean, Carolina's been a
08:51machine during the course of this postseason. So, boy, I'll tell you right here, right now,
08:57I am extra fired up about this hockey game tonight. This feels like it's going to be a
09:02seven-game series, and I am taking Carolina to even the series at one game apiece.
