00:13The incident happened at around 6.07pm on board Kelana Jaya Line train No. 62,
00:20as it was pulling out of Dangwangi Station.
00:23Rapid KL says the train's automatic safety system was activated mid-journey,
00:29bringing the train to a sudden halt.
00:32The operator describes this as a standard safety feature designed to handle unexpected situations,
00:38but the abrupt stop had consequences.
00:41A standing passenger lost their balance,
00:44and their water bottle struck a glass side panel near the seats.
00:48The panel shattered, sending shards flying toward nearby commuters.
00:54Five passengers were injured as a result.
00:56Two were taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for further treatment.
01:00The remaining three received first aid on site, and were able to continue their journey.
01:06Other passengers on board were offloaded at Dangwangi Station,
01:10where they transferred to the next available train.
01:13The Kelana Jaya Line continued running,
01:15though with some frequency adjustments while the affected train was pulled out of service for a full technical check.
01:21Rapid KL says it has launched a full investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
