00:00The Pakatan Harapen Presidential Council has expressed its firm support for the Prime Minister's stance
00:05on the pardon decision involving former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
00:11In a statement issued on Friday, the Council also reaffirmed its commitment to fighting corruption.
00:18The Council said it would stand by the advice given by the Attorney General
00:22and the Federal Territories Minister to the Pardons Board.
00:25It also stressed that no one is above the law, and anyone convicted of an offence
00:31must serve their sentence in accordance with the law and the Federal Constitution.
00:36The Council said it remains committed to efforts to combat corruption,
00:40advance the reform agenda, and eradicate corruption and abuse of power.
00:46The statement was issued following the PH Presidential Council meeting,
00:50which began at about 5.30pm, and ended after nearly two hours at the Padana Putra complex.
00:57Earlier, the Pardons Board decided that Najib would be allowed to serve the remainder of his sentence
01:03under house arrest until August 23, 2028, subject to a 50 million ringgit fine.
