Three men have been rescued after becoming stranded overnight on an offshore rock near Byron Bay when their kayak was swept away by rough seas. This video includes ACM-produced voiceover powered by AI.

00:02A dramatic overnight rescue unfolded off the New South Wales coast after three men became
00:09stranded on a rocky outcrop near Byron Bay's iconic Three Sisters.
00:13The group had paddled to Cocked Hat Rock when their kayak was swept away by the swell,
00:19leaving them trapped as conditions deteriorated.
00:22Marine Rescue Brunswick volunteers located the men using thermal imaging and floodlights
00:28before making the difficult decision to extract them in darkness.
00:32Battling strong winds, rough seas and signs of hypothermia among the stranded trio,
00:38rescuers brought the men safely aboard before returning to shore shortly after 4am,
