00:06England's most prolific goalscorer.
00:10Tottenham Hotspur's most potent striker.
00:15A record breaker in the Bundesliga.
00:19A World Cup Golden Boot winner.
00:23For the entirety of his extraordinary career,
00:28Harry Kane has found the back of the net more frequently
00:31than just about any Englishman in the country's long history.
00:36He has two attributes as a top-top to strike.
00:40Right, left, header, dropping, quality to play, assists,
00:44score goal being in the box, score goals arriving.
00:48So, the exceptional striker has shown in many, many years.
00:55On top of that, Kane has led his country with distinction.
00:59And during the 2026 World Cup,
01:02we'll set a new mark for Caps as captain of the Three Lions,
01:06surpassing legendary figures Bobby Moore and Billy Wright.
01:11And as skipper, he has helped forge a new culture for the England team,
01:16one that prioritises collectivism over individual brilliance,
01:20leading them to consecutive European Championship finals
01:24and the knockout stages of the past two World Cups.
01:28I like to lead by example.
01:30I think that's a big trait of mine,
01:32which, yeah, set good examples for the players around me,
01:36for the staff, for the young players coming through.
01:41Despite such individual brilliance,
01:43Kane had to wait until he was 31
01:45and scorer of over 400 professional goals
01:49before he lifted his first major trophy,
01:52the 2024-25 Bundesliga title with Bayern Munich.
01:58Yeah, this one feels special.
02:00I think, obviously, I've won this one before
02:02and a few golden boots in my career,
02:04but to do it when we win the Championship is that more meaningful
02:06and it's been another good season.
02:09I've enjoyed every moment of it.
02:11There's been some great moments
02:13and, yeah, it was nice to finish with a win today
02:16and, obviously, to score in the final game as well.
02:19Kane was a natural finisher from an early age
02:22and since breaking through at the highest level in 2014,
02:26he has reached double figures for league goals every season.
02:31The first of many individual accolades arrived
02:34with the 2015 PFA Young Player of the Year Award.
02:40Since 2017, Kane has scored at least five goals
02:44every calendar year for England,
02:46harring the COVID-disrupted 2020 campaign.
02:50It sounds obvious that he wants to be one of the best players in the world,
02:54but, actually, not every player is committed to being that.
02:57Not every player has that belief,
02:59but also is prepared to commit themselves in training,
03:02in their lifestyle, in everything, and he is.
03:05Ordinarily, goal-scoring feats like this
03:08would be accompanied by mountains of silverware.
03:11But Kane's commitment to Tottenham
03:13and Spurs' reluctant to cash in on their star asset
03:16meant he was rarely in the hunt for honours in England,
03:19despite winning the Golden Boot three times
03:22and firing his side to the 2019 Champions League final.
03:29A transfer to one of the world's mega-clubs
03:31was inevitable at some point,
03:33and that arrived in 2023,
03:36with a move to German giant Bayern Munich.
03:39But even then, Kane had the misfortune
03:41to time his arrival in Bavaria
03:43with Bayer Leverkusen's freak campaign
03:46under Xavi Alonso,
03:48delaying his trophy celebrations
03:49a season longer than anticipated.
03:53I think, actually, Bayern Munich are
03:55one of the biggest clubs in the world,
03:56and I've always said,
03:57throughout my career,
03:58I want to keep improving
03:59and keep pushing myself to be the very best,
04:02and I felt like it was the right step in my career
04:05to really push myself
04:06and test myself on the highest level.
04:08So, that's why I'm here,
04:10and I look forward to that challenge.
04:12The Londoner's composure in front of goal,
04:15height, and predatory instincts
04:17mark him out as a quintessential number nine.
04:20But his all-round game is far more technical.
04:24As he has matured,
04:25he has spent more time
04:26dropping into deeper positions
04:28and linking play.
04:30As England's tactics have evolved
04:32from the coaching of Gareth Southgate
04:34to Thomas Tuchel,
04:35Kane's ability to take part in build-up play
04:38and create space for younger,
04:40direct forwards around him
04:42has become a core aspect
04:43of his team's preferred route to goal.
04:46This country probably don't appreciate
04:48how good he is
04:49from a footballer point of view.
04:52He's incredible.
04:53This country should appreciate
04:55we've got a real special talent.
04:57Kane turns 33 not long after
04:59the 2026 World Cup final.
05:01He will not get many more chances
05:03to succeed with England,
05:05a country he has served
05:07as brilliantly as anyone
05:08that has gone before him.
05:10A lot of great teams out there,
05:11but we're growing in confidence,
05:13you know, with the experiences
05:14that we've had
05:15in the other major tournaments.
05:16But for sure,
05:17we've still got some improving
05:18to do, some learning to do.
05:20After a lifetime
05:21of finding the back of the net
05:23for club and country,
05:25Harry Kane is starting to get
05:26into the habit
05:27of lifting trophies.
05:28The big one with England
05:30would cap the finest career
05:32in Three Lions history.
