00:00Sometimes you're running around the house like, oh, no, I forgot my cup of coffee.
00:04I better make it before I get out the door.
00:06So as we start in segment number three, you know what the deal is.
00:10Get that hot cup of coffee.
00:11Get it ready.
00:12Your double shot of espresso.
00:13Maybe it's just a monster.
00:15The hottest topic of the day.
00:16Yeah.
00:17Coming to you live right now, Joe.
00:18Let's bring it.
00:20Better late than never, Donnie.
00:22But I think we do need to talk about the upcoming World Cup and how FIFA is now finding out
00:30the hard way that Americans, yeah, we don't like getting ripped off.
00:36And the tournament kicks off next week, Donnie, and we're all excited about it.
00:41And in case it was not already obvious, most Americans, well, they do not care about soccer.
00:49And they certainly do not care to overpay for a ticket into a stadium where they could
00:54not name three players on either team because reports are now surfacing that FIFA is having
01:00a massive issue selling tickets, especially for the host country's opening game between
01:08the United States and Paraguay in L.A.
01:11Now, as of last Thursday, more than 3,500 tickets were still sitting in the primary portal to
01:20be bought.
01:21And in the resale market, Donnie, and there are over 10,000 tickets now available for a
01:28match that was supposed to be, well, pretty much a marquee event.
01:32And why is nobody buying them?
01:34Well, because the cheapest nosebleed seats are going for over $1,000.
01:40Now, FIFA is learning rather quickly that Americans, well, they have a line in the sand when it
01:46comes to this kind of stuff.
01:47And sure, there are plenty of patriotic fans who want to root for the red, white, and blue.
01:52But even the biggest soccer diehards are not paying those kinds of prices to watch a team
01:59they really don't believe can win a damn thing.
02:03Now, meanwhile, compare that to the NBA Finals, which tips off tonight.
02:08Reports out of the San Antonio Spurs season ticket holders is, well, they are getting their
02:14tickets revoked because, well, they're using sites they're not supposed to sell them.
02:19And oh, yeah, they're setting the market.
02:22They're selling them for too much money, Donnie.
02:24People are begging to get into the arena for the NBA Finals.
02:28But for the World Cup, tickets on the resale platforms, Donnie, are listed for less than
02:34half of what FIFA's primary prices were when they first sold them.
02:39It is not hard to recognize when a corrupt organization completely overestimates supply
02:46and demand.
02:47We do not mind paying a premium to see our favorite players and championship teams in
02:53this country.
02:54We do not.
02:55But you know what we won't do here, Donnie?
02:57We absolutely refuse, as sports fans, to be extorted.
03:01And that is the lesson FIFA is learning.
