00:00Have you been in touch with them at all?
00:02Have you heard from them while this is ongoing?
00:05Over the weekend, there was some communication back and forth, but nothing extensive.
00:11I actually didn't want to be around the Chicagoland area during the last weekend of the session.
00:17So my wife and I took our RV and went to southern Indiana to the hills of southern Indiana and
00:22monitored the situation from afar.
00:24But we were all in communication, all the state leaders, myself, and, of course, Bears leadership.
00:31But, you know, nothing extensive.
00:33Just thanks.
00:34We're here.
00:34We still love you.
00:35Hope everything can do.
00:37Mayor McDermott, what is your expectation of a timeline?
00:40And when do you think that you will get a definitive answer from the Bears as far as what they
00:47want to do next?
00:49I'm hoping by the end of June that Hammond has an answer, yes or no.
00:54And I think that's a reasonable timeline at this point.
00:57The due diligence has been going on for a long time right now.
01:00We were all waiting to see what happened with the Illinois legislative session.
01:04We all know how that ended now.
01:06So the Bears have to regroup.
01:08We were told all along that Bears leadership is going to get together with the board of directors
01:12and start evaluating the offers was what they were saying at the time.
01:17And as we know right now, there's only one offer that they're evaluating.
01:21But that doesn't mean the Bears are going to choose Hammond.
01:23You know, I hope they do.
01:25We're going to find out hopefully by the end of this month.
01:27We'll see you next time.
