00:00I think you start with the fact that they're playing really well as a unit, right?
00:06You're not seeing the breakdowns that you saw in week one where you talk to the players after a terrible
00:15effort, albeit a winning one, against the Panthers where Carolina has 37 points and it's just like big plays galore
00:25from both sides, but the Panthers included.
00:29And, you know, there wasn't panic because in talking to different guys, they said, you know, it was like it
00:37was we were just taking turns having a really bad play.
00:40And it just takes one guy right out of the 11 to really mess something up.
00:47And so they thought of, you know, if one guy can just eliminate his mistake that he made in this
00:52situation, we're going to be better off.
00:53And I think that's an explanation for where they're at.
00:56You know, part of it is Carson Wentz and Geno Smith, two of the four quarterbacks that they've faced this
01:02season.
01:02But I don't want to take anything away from the unit because it was really good yesterday.
01:07It was great on third down and you had different players stepping up on third down to make plays.
01:14You know, Tyreek Stevenson, really good coverage on Garrett Wilson, gets a tackle for a six-yard play on third
01:23and seven.
01:24And Booker and Devin Bush come up with sacks in third down situations.
01:30Elijah Hicks and their dime package has a hit on Geno Smith on a blitz to force an incompletion.
01:37So they just had all sorts of different guys making plays on third down.
01:41I'd agree there's not a player on that defense right now that LaFleur or any other offensive coach that's getting
01:47ready to face the Bears is going to circle and say,
01:49hey, hey, we got to know where this guy is at all times, we're going to have an issue with
01:54him.
01:54But they're playing fantastic as a unit right now, really, really high level.
02:00And a lot of credit should go to Dennis Allen and that defensive staff on a football team that, you
02:10know, for the most part is known for its offense.
