00:00OBJ is back, ladies and gentlemen, but did y'all know back in February, a pair of Giants fans launched
00:07a change.org petition for the franchise to bring back 13.
00:11It racked up nearly 8,000 signatures and 6,000 plus shares, and Odell himself commented on the post.
00:20Let's talk to the guys that started the petition, longtime Giants fans and influencers, the Scarletta Twins, Nicky and JoJo
00:30Scarletta.
00:31First and foremost, when are you guys sending Odell the invoice for bringing him back to New York?
00:38Yo, Brandon, no invoice, but I will take a shout-out at some type of press conference. That's all we
00:43want.
00:43I'll take it. And he's got to have his own dance for you guys.
00:49All right, let's get straight into this one because we were just talking off camera a little bit before we
00:54got into this.
00:55Let's talk about the dark days before we get to the light.
00:58Do you remember where you were, what you were doing, and your initial reactions when Odell was traded away?
01:07I think we were working at a catering hole at one of our odd jobs, busboy and a waiter.
01:14Again, that notification made it even a horrible day more horrible, man, because we thought he was going to be
01:20a giant his whole career.
01:21No one in a million years thought he was going to get traded, and it was a horrible feeling.
01:26It was a horrible feeling. It was really, like you said, the dark days of the Giants in that era.
01:30And to think of what was that, seven years ago now, 2018, right?
01:33Yeah, yeah.
01:33Wow. It's been a long time, so I can't believe we're here talking about him being back on the team.
01:38If I was you guys, I would have quit my job and walked out of there like half-baked.
01:43Bleep you. Bleep you. Bleep you. You're cool. Bleep you. I'm out.
01:49Yeah, dark days in New York, man, but, you know, and it was dark for a little bit.
01:54But just when it was that idea of him in a potential reunion initially floated,
02:01you saw everyone kind of get a sense of nostalgia and everyone get excited.
02:06So when you started the petition back in February,
02:09did you actually think that there was a real chance the Giants could bring him back?
02:16Yeah, to be honest, man, I did because he's just, he's such a big culture guy.
02:21The fans have so much love for him.
02:23He's so important to the game and to the New York Giants
02:25that I thought if he was interested in a reunion, the fans were,
02:29and eventually maybe even the head coaching staff would be as well.
02:33Yeah, it was like 50-50.
02:34Obviously, at first, it's like, okay, it's a long shot.
02:36Let's see if the Giants want to do it.
02:38Them signing Harbaugh, you know, him and Odell being close,
02:40I think that played a major factor.
02:42And we got to call it what it is.
02:44The Giants need Odell more than they think, man.
02:47We're thin-out wide receiver.
02:48Slayton got the core injury.
02:50Leaks rehabbing the knee injury.
02:51Wyndale's in Tennessee.
02:53Gunnar just tore his Achilles.
02:54Like, we need bodies in the wide receiver room, man.
02:57And why not the greatest New York Giant receiver of all time, Odell Beckham Jr.?
03:02So what is it about Odell that fans love so much?
03:05Because it's rare that New Yorkers and New York fan base embrace someone that's flashy.
03:12But people love Odell.
03:14Was it the production?
03:15You used to talk about the culture.
03:17Like, what was it about OBJ or what is it about OBJ
03:21that makes New York sports fans love this dude so much?
03:25Dude, I think it was a little bit of both.
03:27The production, like, his first couple years on New York was,
03:30he was off to one of the greatest receiving career starts of all time.
03:34You mix that with just the iconic celebrations, the iconic plays.
03:39The aura.
03:41That 13 became too iconic.
03:43Maybe the most iconic jersey in sports history.
03:46And for him to be coming back and be back, it's the most full circle thing I've ever seen.
03:51Yeah, I mean, he lit it up as soon as he came to the league.
03:53I think he missed four games his rookie year.
03:55He played 12, 13 games because he had a hamstring injury.
03:57He still had, like, 1,208.
03:59And his first four years with Eli was absolutely insane.
04:02And literally every kid in the 2015s and on wanted to be Odell.
04:07Everyone was getting the burst fade.
04:08They were dying their hair blonde.
04:10I wore number 13 in every sport I played in.
04:12Like, he was really just a culture changer.
04:15And you didn't even have to be from New York or a Giants fan.
04:17If you liked football at all, you were an Odell Beckham Jr. fan.
04:20Dude, and when he would throw it, let me Odell it.
04:22Throw one up, let me Odell it.
04:24Like, it was like the old saying, Kobe.
04:25And, like, it was that iconic on that length.
04:27So, it was just insane.
04:29And you know what?
04:29It wasn't even just the kids.
04:31I saw grown men with the buzz fade blonde hair.
04:35Grown men walking around changing their hairstyles to be like, Odell,
04:40you talk about that iconic number 13.
04:43We don't know what number he's going to wear just yet.
04:47But are you guys going to start a petition for OBJ to get number 13 back?
04:52Like, if you're Jalen Hyatt, what's that going to cost for you to give that number up?
04:57Oh, I know.
04:58Honestly, Hyatt, listen, I love you, Hyatt, but Odell deserves 13 back.
05:03It's just point blank, period.
05:04Everybody still has Odell Beckham Jr. jerseys in the closet that they're dusting off.
05:09And they would be kind of shot not to give him 13 back.
05:12It's going to become the biggest selling jersey in the NFL, I think, overnight if he gets 13 back.
05:16Dude, that's like Derek Jeter going back to the Yankees and having not wearing number two
05:21and wearing, like, a number five or six or, like, 12.
05:23Yeah, not good.
05:24Well, it sounds like Jalen Hyatt has the leverage.
05:28I'm asking for a half a million.
05:29Easy.
05:30He does, man.
05:31He can play his cards right here.
05:33Like, if you think of, like, Taye Banks, remember, he caught himself a nice little check when
05:38Jackson Dart gave up some money for, I think it was two, Russell Wilson for three.
05:43Hey, man, that's a whole, that's passive income right there.
05:46That's my retirement plan.
05:49Go ahead, go ahead, go ahead.
05:51I was going to say, that reminds me of when Devontae went to the Jets a couple years ago
05:54and Corley had 17 and was like, you want 17?
05:58A million.
05:58I'm like, damn.
06:00Easy.
06:00How bad do you want your number back right there?
06:02Hey, there's a business within the business when it comes to the numbers.
06:07But let's talk about what would you say would be your most iconic or greatest OBJ moment
06:13minus the catch?
06:15Such a good question, man.
06:16I mean, the catch is the most, I think, iconic moment in NFL history, possibly.
06:22I want to even say it could be when that first half on the Rams with the Super Bowl victory,
06:29he was playing to a level I've never seen him play at since he was back in New York.
06:33And I think he would have been Super Bowl MVP if he didn't tear his knee.
06:36100%, man.
06:37It was great to see because, like, obviously when he left the Giants, a lot of Giants fans
06:41were mad, but we never stopped rooting for him because we knew it was behind closed doors.
06:45It wasn't his decision.
06:46And to see him go from the Browns traded midseason to the Rams, and when he got on the Rams
06:51in
06:51the playoffs, he was averaging, like, a touchdown a game.
06:53He was balling out.
06:55And if he didn't get hurt, like he said, I think he would have been the Super Bowl MVP.
06:58So the fact of the matter is Odell never lost it.
07:01He just needs the opportunity to shine again.
07:03And I believe he's in the right spot to do so back home where it all started.
07:07And we've seen it in the flag football game over the summer, man.
07:09Was that the summer?
07:11Yeah, the summer.
07:12Dude, it looked like he didn't miss a step.
07:14He's mossing, guys.
07:16Like, he's back in his rookie year.
07:17One-handers, toe-tap.
07:19Just, he looked phenomenal.
07:20And I think that was, like, the first thing we were like, okay, he could still play ball
07:24at this level.
07:25I'm always – it's funny that you guys, your greatest moments are him with other teams
07:31because I'm going to go back to, I believe it was, what, 2023 when he was in Baltimore
07:36with Harbaugh.
07:37He caught a slant and he rolled out and he had the peace sign up.
07:41I took that to the crib.
07:42And I'm like, that's the old Dale that we've been waiting for to get back to because I
07:48agree with you guys.
07:49He would have been Super Bowl MVP had he not blew out his knee.
07:52Like, easy.
07:52He was cooking that game.
07:54Even, like, after the last time when he went to the Dolphins after that, they just didn't
07:57play him.
07:58They had a lot of receiver depth.
07:59But, bro, on the Ravens with Harbaugh, Lamar was throwing him a lot of 50-50 balls.
08:04He was coming down with everything still.
08:06500 yards, I believe, he had that season.
08:08So, there's a lot of people on the – I guess, you know, we live in a glass-half-full,
08:13half-empty type world, especially here in New York when it comes to the critics and all.
08:18A lot of people that think that, oh, this is just some sort of a money grab for the
08:23Giants.
08:24They just want the fans to feel good by signing him.
08:26He got nothing left in the tank.
08:28So, give us an OBJ stat prediction, catches yards and touchdowns.
08:34I love that, man.
08:35I'll tell you what, the speed might not be there as much as it used to be, but you never
08:40lose the hands.
08:41I think Odell could be such a red zone threat with Jackson Dart.
08:45So, I would like to see him maybe at anywhere from 300 to 500 yards.
08:49Call me crazy.
08:50Anywhere between five to seven touchdowns, I think, is realistic.
08:53Yeah, man.
08:54I mean, it all depends to me, like, when Leak comes back because I don't want them to
08:58rush Leak back from it because he had an ACL tear.
09:00If he starts a season, say, on the IR and the PUP, we're looking at Odell has a chance
09:06to be in the wide receiver 2-3 category.
09:08I'm going to go crazy.
09:09I'll give him 700 yards and five touchdowns, about 45 catches.
09:13I love that.
09:14I like it as well, man.
09:16I like the hands don't leave.
09:18All you got to do is catch a football in the NFL.
09:20Anything after that, that's bonus money right there, you know?
09:23And that's what the Giants receivers have not been able to do on a consistent basis in
09:28the last couple of years, and that's catch the football.
09:31Jackson Dart needs himself.
09:32You can say that again, Brandon.
09:34Oh, reliable.
09:35I mean, you know, I'm not calling anyone out.
09:37That's just, I'm sure they know it as well.
09:39You know, I'm sure that room, you look at the level of competition that's now in that
09:43room, it's a lot deeper than what it's been in recent years.
09:47And you got a lot of guys in there that you could say are on the bubble.
09:50You got a new OC coming in.
09:53He's brought in his guys.
09:54That's just NFL.
09:55It's competition every day.
09:57So everybody's going to go have to go out and show that they can be a reliable guy for
10:02the franchise quarterback.
10:04But fellas, this was fun, man.
10:06Great seeing you guys at the license plate guys and Brian Burns is a celebrity softball
10:11tournament this past weekend.
10:13What's the next petition?
10:14What else are we on?
10:15Cause you guys are on fire.
10:16Brandon, before we get there, I just wanted to say one more thing.
10:18So I'm mad excited for him to play with a scrambling quarterback, like an improviser.
10:24Cause obviously we've seen him play with Eli.
10:25Like say he did drop a little bit in speed.
10:28Odell's great at getting open throughout coverages.
10:30I would love to see a scenario.
10:32Like if Dart gets out of the pocket, he finds Odell down the field.
10:35Like that was something, unfortunately, Eli didn't have.
10:38Eli wasn't a scrambling as great as he was.
10:40So I'm excited for him to play with an improviser like Jackson Dart.
10:44I can't wait for it, man.
10:45And just think if that play happens Sunday night football on the season opener against
10:50the Cowboys and it's like the play of the day, MetLife.
10:54I feel, man, like make my, go ahead, go ahead, go ahead.
10:58I got a feeling, bro.
10:59He's going to, he's going to score one week one on, on Sunday night, prime time against
11:02Dallas.
11:03I got it.
11:03I got a feeling.
11:03Honestly, though, but Brandon, the next petition might be to get Odell number 13.
11:08Go ahead.
11:09I'll sign that one.
11:10I got to sign that one.
11:12He's got, he's got to get his number back.
11:13That might get 10,000 shares.
11:15That one.
11:15Hey, well, I'm going to represent my client, Jalen Hyatt, and I'm going to get my 3% out of
11:21that
11:21deal.
11:22So there we go.
11:23Business is business, baby.
11:25Hey, appreciate you guys hopping on with this, man.
11:28Thank you, brother.
11:29Always good to see you, my man.
11:30See you soon, man.
11:31Blue, let's go.
