00:22Telecom Malaysia TM technician at about 10.50am on Tuesday. The technician told police that he
00:28came across a viral video at around 7am showing an alleged cable theft by the roadside at Jalan
00:35Batu, Uban 1 in Gelugor. Following the report, an inspection was carried out at the location
00:42where it was discovered that a TM telecommunications cable measuring about 70 metres in length and
00:48estimated to be worth 17,000 ringgit had been cut and stolen. Lee said the suspects were believed to
00:55have used a dark-coloured hatchback during the incident. He added that investigations are
01:01ongoing to identify and locate those involved. The case is being investigated under Section 379
01:08of the Penal Code for Theft and Section 235 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998
