Police are tracking down several suspects who are believed to have broken into an electric car and stolen a bag containing cash.

North Johor Baru OCPD Asst Comm Balveer Singh said an investigation was launched after a 17-second video was posted to Facebook showing the incident, which allegedly took place in Taman Perling on Thursday (Sept 25).

00:18a 17-second video of the incident was posted on Facebook, and a 34-year-old man lodged
00:24a report the same day.
00:27Special findings revealed that the victim had parked his car securely at about 10.11am.
00:33When he returned, he found the driver's side windscreen shattered and a bag containing cash
00:38missing.
00:39Losses were estimated at around 100,000 ringgit.
00:43The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for Theft, which carries
00:49a jail term of up to seven years, a fine, or both.
00:54Repeat offenders could also face whipping.
