00:00I want to take this chance to talk a little bit about the first overall outlook for the Browns, okay?
00:14We don't know if they're going to be the worst team in the league.
00:17Here's what I do think.
00:19I think the Browns are trying to give themselves at least the path to trading up to number one.
00:27I think the Browns, so let's just say, Joe, they end up with the fourth pick, right?
00:33Let's say that Rams pick is 32.
00:36You know, it's like, oh, is that going to move the needle?
00:38I think the Browns will be willing to give up a lot if their guy is there.
00:45I believe they would love Arch Manning.
00:49Arch is the favorite.
00:50What do you make of Arch's status as the favorite?
00:54I mean, I understand that he was the favorite at the start of the college season, you know, last year,
00:59and he didn't live up to the hype after the first basically month and a half of the regular season,
01:04but came on down the stretch, dominated Michigan, and all of a sudden all eyes were on 2026 in his
01:11performance this year.
01:13But again, body of work matters, and in the big games he really didn't step up, especially against elite defenses.
01:20The teams that he dominated down the stretch were sub-500 types of teams outside of the win against Texas
01:28A&M.
01:29And when you look at it right now, is he going to want to play in Cleveland?
01:33You know, we talk about that, you know, he doesn't want to play for the Jets.
01:37Well, does he want to then go to the Cleveland Browns and play for a losing organization in that capacity?
01:43I mean, I don't know, but if I'm Cleveland, I have to make sure I have missed so many times
01:50on the quarterback.
01:51I ship Baker Mayfield out, and he turned into basically an all-pro after I got rid of him.
01:57I have to make sure, Kevin, that I am bought in and make sure that Arch Manning is definitely going
02:04to be the guy
02:05to take my organization to a potential AFC championship.
02:10Otherwise, it's not worth the risk.
02:15Yeah, Joe, I mean, listen, the college football season is going to tell us so, so much.
02:21But I know people, I heard people, you know, in respected areas who would know,
02:27say that the Browns are enamored with Arch Manning.
02:29That was last year, right?
02:32So could the Browns be in a situation where they may not care who looks like the best prospect
02:41and they just try to move heaven and earth to get Arch, possibly, right?
02:46I wonder if, in some way, drafting Shador tells us the Browns not only want a franchise quarterback
03:00in the sense of talent, but in the sense of star power, which Arch will bring, his last name is
03:09Manning.
03:10I think that's totally possible, that the Browns, who, when they're on your TV, you go,
03:16can't get a primetime game, think Arch is going to change things.
03:21This will be the perception changer for our franchise.
03:25I think that that is absolutely possible.
03:28Joe, is there a guy, though, for you?
03:32Or let me put it another way here, Joe.
03:34If we could pop up the first overall odds once more, once more.
03:39How many guys on this list excite you when we're talking about franchise quarterback?
03:47Okay, so that removes Jeremiah Smith and your boy Dylan Stewart.
03:51But I'm talking about quarterbacks here, right?
03:55How many excite you?
03:57Not many, Kevin.
03:59I'll tell you, I thought you were going to pose who on that list is worthy of a first-round
04:06selection.
04:06And I would have told you it would have been Jeremiah Smith and Dylan Stewart because of the upside, right?
04:13You have a dominant wide receiver, and you have potentially a dominant edge rusher.
04:17Outside of that, which one is worthy of a number one draft pick or first overall selection?
04:24Yeah, Arch Manning has the name and the brand recognition.
04:28But, again, he didn't do that against Ohio State.
04:31He didn't do that against Georgia.
04:33He didn't do that against the better teams in the SEC.
04:37So, he didn't do that in the swamp in Florida when he was a two-and-a-half-point favorite.
04:42He lost the game outright.
04:44So, when you're asking me which quarterback am I bought in on, they all have concerns.
04:49CJ Carr, I need to see another year.
04:51Remember, Lenora Sellers, if he could live up to the hype that he had two years ago when he led
04:57South Carolina to a 9-4 record,
05:00I might say he might be the overall selection.
05:03Messermaker, yeah, he's a prototypical drop-back passer.
05:07He did it at North Texas.
05:08Can he do it at Oak State?
05:10And can he do it against better competition?
05:12Dante Moore, you get the good, the bad, and the ugly.
05:15So, there's concerns all around.
05:17That's why I say if we're talking number one draft selection, the only one when you talk about mitigating risk,
05:25I'd be bought in on Dylan Stewart and Jeremiah Smith only.
