Diver Quinn Smith from New Zealand captured a breathtaking underwater encounter while out spearfishing.
Two orcas swam directly past him at extremely close range, one adult and one, a cute baby orca.
The video shows Quinn holding his spearfishing equipment as a large adult orca, believed to be the mother, calmly approaches alongside a younger calf.
The pair glide effortlessly through the water, passing within inches of the diver in a remarkably peaceful moment.
Despite the intimidating size of the marine mammals, the orcas appear curious and relaxed as they move gracefully past Quinn before continuing on their way.
Quinn said: “This was one of the rarest and most amazing encounters of my life.
“I was beyond excited.”
