00:44squatters i called the sheriff the sheriff informed me it's a civil matter and there's nothing we can do
00:50the city of los angeles who did tenancy laws probably offered it take months but when it
00:56came to my mother's house there was no way in hell i was going to let them win i took

01:02own hands i learned all about the laws i figured out the loopholes and now i have a very particular
01:08set of skills sometimes removing the squatters just making it a little bit difficult for them
01:18what i use to save my mom's house i am now using to help homeowners across the country i've built

02:16we're in conroe texas we have a situation here where a family lost an elderly loved one and uh
02:23the son and daughter-in-law reached out because the house had been taken over by a woman my son
02:29was moving stuff out of our mother-in-law's house who she died in january and he was moving stuff

02:36so we could sell it and he had a friend ashley that he said was helping him and that wasn't

02:58situation even more important to me so how did we get here can you tell us what what brought us

03:08just to really keep her from burning down the house and remembering to eat my mother-in-law lived
03:14nearby nevada was 90. she never wanted to go into a nursing home when nevada passed it was it was

03:30friend helping tristan move some stuff out of the house when i asked where she lived my son told me
03:37she lived with her grandmother do you think she can be dangerous um i guess it depends on how desperate
03:43she is and then tell me who this is her boyfriend roy i would say this one's the one you

03:50about so when did you realize things were just getting this out of control well i went over there
03:55to start packing up her stuff and when i walked in the house there was a trail a cleared area

04:05on both sides and when i went into the kitchen there was a plate that had food on it all
04:10these gnats flew
04:12off of it it was disgusting and ashley was there and there were some other guys there and they had
04:18all her possessions in the house all our access to everything robert's mother was in the house for
04:24over 50 years so she just has a a lifetime of memories there and all her mementos and things that
04:32meant a lot to her are in this house this was a pristine beautiful home just desecrated do you
04:39believe from what you've seen so far that she is a serial squatter somebody that planned this and
04:46has done it before oh yeah when the cops showed up she pulled out a license that said she'd been
04:51there for six months yeah oh really squatters just do anything that they can to show law enforcement
04:56that they are living there they try to turn utility bills on in their name they get mel at the
05:01address
05:01so my plan is to occupy the house move into the house and then make them want to leave now

13:32that oh my god dang these people don't know you're supposed to flush on number two
13:48where this used to be a happy home
13:53and it just makes me sad to see it this bad
13:58it's hard to imagine that somebody considered this to be their safe place at one point
14:03and then you open a door and you see a toilet full of crap it's just so disrespectful squatters
14:10have no heart when it comes to that they just take over people's homes and just destroy it with
14:16no compassion whatsoever that this house belonged to an old lady and even after death she deserved
14:22respect this is just you know it just pisses me off let's just get these people out of this this

14:41you guys are in there we know you're in there and we're not going anywhere
14:46day or night or night or day we're not going anywhere this is pathetic this is not your house
15:00the squatters were held up in the room possibly sleeping i thought you know what let me give them
15:06a wake-up call all right squatters now it's time for your daily serenade hit it
15:19we're gonna make it uncomfortable for them so that they absolutely know that we're not going anywhere
15:25until they do it's about to get cold these doors in this house are about to be taken off so

15:35were you i would just come on out hello all right let's start removing doors
15:47so why do we take off doors it's our goal to make this house as uncomfortable as possible for them

15:54with rights granted by our renovation lease we can do just that
16:00i can remove any door i want everything in the house is fair game i just can't go in their

16:43the no place to go thing is something we're going to have to figure out a way to help with

17:34you know at the end of the day i have to get their house back i don't want to ruin

17:39process i just you know i would love to have everybody move on and be happy and go on with

17:44lives i get renovation leases so i can literally do work on the home therefore power goes off
17:50you know different things like that i don't want to have to do that with you guys i would rather

17:55try to figure out a solution to this i mean the solution is to leave but we're trying to figure

18:02like where we can go right okay so how can we help with that can we then spend the rest
18:07of our
18:07time together just trying to figure out a solution all right all right can we start over ashley my

18:24hotel for a couple
18:25days that'll help you kind of regroup and maybe some gas money to kind of get you know get you

18:30to where you at least have a little bit of a boost yeah so i'm able to do that for

18:35okay one of the things that i'm going to have to do later when you leave is deal with changing
18:41locks i mean are you okay with giving me a key yeah okay okay thank you
18:57we're about to give the house back to a family and i can't even begin to tell you how good
19:02that feels
19:04the family is going to be really happy and hopefully this is an opportunity for the squatters
19:09ashley and roy to get their life on track
19:21how'd it go well uh we came to the property yesterday and i met with a lot of confrontation
19:27you know we had to take some extreme measures but i can proudly say that basically we have a key
19:34we've changed the locks and i want to welcome you back to your home thank you

20:04that all i'm picturing is the grandmother and the photos of your family sitting on chairs and
20:11couches and thinking man this used to be such a a home but you know what the memories are still
