00:02I remain committed to communicating with the countries concerned,
00:06including China, for the peace and the stability in the region and of the world.
00:12Some of you may have heard the term new militarism, but nothing further from the truth.
00:20Think about it.
00:21There is a country that has a huge arsenal of nuclear weapons and strategic bombers.
00:27Japan has neither of such weapons, and yet Japan is labeled new militarism.
00:35Isn't it strange?
00:37Since the end of the Second World War, Japan has consistently respected international law,
00:43including the Charter of the United Nations,
00:46and has made sincere efforts to maintain and strengthen a free and open international order.
00:52Japan's past as a peace-loving nation has been valued by the region.
00:58And let me say this as well.
01:00Differences in perception and friction do arise between nations.
01:05What is needed is direct and candid dialogue.
01:10And in fact, Japan's door to dialogue is always open.
01:14What is being said to them in hindsight?
01:15How do we educate into consideration?
