00:01In this video, we will be exploring 7 scary experiences that people have had and posted on reddit.
00:09If you have any advice for them, please put it down in the comments as they will be checking.
00:16My sleep paralysis is getting worse, and I'm starting to think it isn't just sleep paralysis.
00:22I know most stories on reddit are fake. I usually think the same thing when I read them.
00:27But this one isn't. I wish it was.
00:30In 2020, I joined the military. Before that, I had never experienced sleep paralysis. Not even once.
00:37No night terrors. No shadow people. Nothing.
00:41The first time it happened was in A school, in Gulfport, Mississippi. Builder School.
00:47Just a random weeknight.
00:49My roommate and I went to sleep around 10pm.
00:52He had been playing video games. I had been studying until I was knocked out.
00:58Sometime in the middle of the night, I woke up facing the wall.
01:01I couldn't move. My entire body was locked in place.
01:05I could hear him snoring on the other side of our room.
01:09Our desks were pushed together to form a divider between our beds, so I couldn't see him.
01:14But I could hear him clearly.
01:16My bed was near the sink and bathroom.
01:19His was near the window.
01:21I knew exactly where he was.
01:23And I knew he wasn't the one in my room.
01:26I felt eyes on me.
01:28Not imagined.
01:29Not a vague feeling.
01:31Eyes.
01:32My whole body went cold, like I had been caught doing something I wasn't supposed to.
01:37A heavy, paralyzing dread settled over me.
01:41I felt like someone was standing on the other side of my bed, just watching.
01:45I was so afraid I stopped breathing.
01:48I thought if it was a real person, if someone had come into my room, maybe I could play dead.
01:54Maybe they'd leave.
01:55Holding my breath, I forced my body to jerk itself out of the paralysis for a split second.
02:00Enough to confirm I couldn't move voluntarily.
02:04Enough to know the fear was real.
02:06The logical part of my brain tried to rationalize it.
02:10Sailors assigned to watch over students had key cards.
02:13We shared a bathroom with the room next door.
02:15It wouldn't be impossible for someone to be standing there.
02:19So I prepared myself.
02:21If this person attacked, I'd fight.
02:24I stayed still so long that, eventually, exhaustion pulled me back to sleep.
02:29I didn't tell anyone.
02:31I didn't experience it again for months.
02:34Then, late 2022, after I was stationed in Virginia, it happened again.
02:40Different barracks.
02:42Older base.
02:43First floor.
02:44This time, I had room to myself.
02:47Same feeling.
02:49Same presence.
02:50Facing the wall again.
02:52Something standing just out of sight on the other side of the bed.
02:55The next morning, I mentioned it casually to some coworkers.
03:00One older sailor overheard.
03:02He used to live in those barracks.
03:04He pulled me aside and told me he'd felt the same thing there.
03:07He told me to put a salt circle around my bed and pray.
03:11I would have assumed he was messing with me, but he wasn't even part of the conversation.
03:15He just overheard and looked genuinely unsettled.
03:18In 2023, we detached to Romania.
03:22This was the worst one.
03:24Four of us got put in a separate hotel because we booked the detachment last minute.
03:29I went to sleep at a normal time.
03:32We had worked the next day, and I woke up and was immediately paralyzed.
03:36I held my breath until I broke free enough to look up.
03:40There was something in the room.
03:41It's hard to describe.
03:43Not a detailed figure, more like an outline.
03:46A darker shape, inside the dark.
03:49Standing right next to my bed.
03:52The second I focused on it, it lunged at me.
03:54I woke up, still in bed, still paralyzed.
03:58I held my breath again, looked up, and it was there.
04:02It lunged.
04:03I woke up again.
04:04This repeated over and over.
04:07Lunge.
04:07Wake.
04:08Lunge.
04:09Wake.
04:09I could feel my real body trapped underneath it all.
04:12My real eyes shut.
04:14My chest burning because I was intentionally restricting my breathing to break the paralysis.
04:19Every time I almost forced my eyes open, it would lunge again.
04:23Finally, I managed to pry my eyes open.
04:26The room was empty.
04:28I stayed awake the rest of the night on FaceTime with my girlfriend.
04:32We had different time zones.
04:33She stayed up with me until about 3am my time.
04:38I eventually passed out from exhaustion.
04:40At 6.15, my coworker was shaking me awake.
04:44We were supposed to be downstairs at 6.
04:46I rushed to get ready and asked her if she had asked the hotel to open my door to wake
04:50me up.
04:51She said my door was already open when she got to my floor.
04:55Wide open.
04:56And it was like that all night.
04:58I tried to rationalize it.
05:00Maybe I had left open in my sleep.
05:02Maybe I was losing it.
05:04The next big incident was in early 2025.
05:07Overseas again.
05:08Different hotel.
05:09I woke up at 2am to the sound of the doorbell.
05:12It was loud and clear.
05:14It shook me awake.
05:16After assuming it was a prank, I waited a bit and then checked the hallway.
05:20No one there.
05:21It started happening randomly.
05:24Not every night, but enough that I got paranoid.
05:27One night, it rang again and I sprinted to the door.
05:30I opened it immediately.
05:32The hallway was empty.
05:34I accused a coworker I wasn't close with.
05:36I thought maybe he was knocking and running back to his room down the hall.
05:40I confronted him, but he looked genuinely confused.
05:43He told me I sounded crazy.
05:45So I went to the front desk and asked them to check the cameras.
05:49Later that day, they called me back.
05:51IT had reviewed everything.
05:53They said they saw me running to the door multiple times across several nights.
05:58Opening it and looking out.
06:00But they never saw anyone in the hallway.
06:03No one ringing.
06:04And no one near my door.
06:06By 2026, I'd mostly convinced myself it was stress.
06:10Anxiety and sleep issues.
06:12I made rank.
06:14Moved out of town and lived alone.
06:16Things were quiet for a while.
06:18Until this week.
06:19I woke up to the sound of something running up my stairs.
06:23Not dreamlike or muffled.
06:26Actual footsteps on the stairs in my place.
06:28Then my bedroom door opened.
06:30I couldn't move.
06:32Something ran to the edge of my bed.
06:34I could hear it breathing.
06:35Standing there.
06:37I pretended to be asleep.
06:38I was too afraid to move.
06:41After a few seconds, it walked away.
06:43I heard it leave.
06:45And heard the door close behind it.
06:47My body finally unlocked and I sat there shaking.
06:51Ice cold.
06:52The next day while I was doing dishes, I noticed my neighbors through the windows across the way.
06:57They were arguing.
06:59The woman kept gesturing toward my place.
07:01Anxiety.
07:02The guy was pacing.
07:03He was pale with his hands on his head.
07:06For a second I wondered if she'd caught him sneaking into my place.
07:09But then I realized I never heard my front door open.
07:13I have a ring.
07:14It would have notified me.
07:16The back door creaks loudly.
07:18I would have heard that.
07:19They noticed me watching them.
07:21Then their argument got louder.
07:23She started yelling that they needed to tell someone.
07:26That they needed to call the police.
07:28That they saw something.
07:30Something disturbed them deeply from my house.
07:33They moved out a couple of days later.
07:36The corpsman put me on anxiety medication to help me sleep.
07:39It's been quiet for a few days.
07:41Nothing new has happened, but my contract ends soon.
07:45I'm going home and I'm genuinely afraid this is going to follow me there.
07:49If you've had experiences like this, I need to know.
07:52I don't know if this is normal sleep paralysis, stress, or the beginning of something worse.
07:58I don't know if I'm losing my mind.
08:05I'm twenty and I'm from West Virginia.
08:08A town of about four thousand.
08:10I have been no contact from my maternal grandmother for over a decade.
08:16And will not speak to her again for any reason.
08:19She still stalks me and tries to contact me.
08:23Mentally, she is not well and passed that down to my mom.
08:27My dad has his own share of issues, so there was some turmoil in my childhood.
08:33But I always felt safe at home.
08:36Debbie didn't seem to agree and ended up taking my parents to court to gain grandparents' rights.
08:42Which aren't a thing in West Virginia.
08:44She didn't.
08:46And we were granted a protective order due to her harassment.
08:50I'll talk more about this later as I found out about it this past year.
08:54My mom has dealt with Debbie's control her whole life.
08:58And a lot of intense abuse from her dad.
09:01Her dad has left boot marks on her ribs.
09:04He would have me call him Tom and pretend he was my husband.
09:08Debbie was a kleptomaniac and very bipolar and psychotic.
09:14I do not use these terms lightly.
09:17Her first move was at the Memorial Day parade that ran through town.
09:22From the school down to the Memorial Cemetery.
09:25We were crossing the bridge on Main Street.
09:28My dad driving his truck in the parade in front of my group.
09:32And I heard her yelling for me from the sidewalk.
09:36She was pushing people out of the way and making her way towards me.
09:40And I was doing my best to act normal and ignore her.
09:44My dad noticed and put me in the truck after calling the cops.
09:47But I don't remember what happened after that.
09:50It was terrifying and embarrassing.
09:53Somehow, she outdid herself the second time and showed up to my school.
09:58We had already given the school pictures of her.
10:01Her full name and aliases.
10:03Everything we could do to prevent her from getting access to me.
10:07They let her into the school.
10:09And because of that, when they called up the classroom,
10:11I refused to leave and started having a panic attack.
10:15I had the best teacher in the world.
10:17She put us into lockdown right then and there and called my mom.
10:21At this point, I believed we were granted a full restraining order.
10:25My sister was born a few years later when I was nine.
10:29She was a flaming ginger in contrast to myself and my parents who had dishwater brown hair.
10:35Debbie told everyone in town that my sister belonged to the mailman.
10:39That my mom was on cocaine before getting pregnant with her.
10:43And the list of craziness goes on.
10:45My mom has an autoimmune condition that caused her to go through radiation steroids.
10:51Essentially, they are putting her through hell.
10:54And when she got pregnant with my sister,
10:56in the middle of these treatments and while on birth control,
11:00she went into remission for years.
11:03As soon as she was born, we left the state and she has stalked us for years.
11:08Debbie has made hundreds of Facebook accounts.
11:11She has tried to reach me through every person she could think of and has used hundreds of emails.
11:19When I visited my hometown for the first time since I was nine,
11:23I went to my old house and knocked on my neighbor's door.
11:27After some catching up, we were back to small town drama.
11:31And he told me how she used to shine a flashlight through our windows at night.
11:35And would bounce a basketball on his porch in the middle of the night.
11:39Apparently, she also peed on his porch.
11:42So, to the grandmother I wish I never had.
11:46Let's not meet again.
11:52I thought it was just a costume until it moved.
11:57Last Halloween, something happened to me that I still can't properly explain.
12:02And I swear, I'm not the type of person who imagines things or scares easily.
12:09It was around 11.30 at night when I got home from work and the neighborhood was already quiet
12:15because most of the trick-or-treaters had gone home.
12:19I wasn't sleepy yet, so I decided to take a short walk down my street just to relax a bit.
12:26About halfway down the block, I noticed what I thought was a Halloween decoration standing near a driveway.
12:32It looked like a person wearing a black robe and a plain white mask, the kind people use for creepy
12:39costumes.
12:40And it was standing right near the sidewalk like it was meant to scare anyone walking past.
12:46I didn't think much of it at first because people in my area go all out with decorations.
12:51But the closer I got, the more I started to feel that something wasn't right.
12:56I can't really explain that feeling except that my instincts were telling me to pay attention.
13:02The mask didn't look shiny like plastic decorations usually do.
13:07It looked dull and almost realistic under the streetlight.
13:12And the robe moved slightly in the wind like real fabric.
13:17When I was maybe ten feet away, I heard a faint sound.
13:21And at first, I thought it was just leaves moving.
13:24But then I realized it sounded like breathing.
13:28Slow and steady, like someone standing still.
13:31I stopped walking and stared at it, trying to convince myself it had been some kind of prop making noise.
13:39Because that made more sense than anything else.
13:42Then its head slowly tilted to the side.
13:45Not fast or jerky like a machine, but slow and controlled like a real person reacting to me.
13:52My stomach dropped instantly and I just stood there frozen, staring at it while it stared back at me through
13:59that blank mask.
14:01Before I could react, it shifted its weight and took one quiet step toward me.
14:06And I clearly heard its shoes scrape the concrete.
14:09That was the moment I knew it wasn't a decoration.
14:13I backed up without thinking, and the second I moved, it stopped and went completely still again.
14:21Like it hadn't done anything at all.
14:23I didn't run, but I turned and walked away fast.
14:27My heart pounding so hard I could hear it.
14:31After a few seconds, I looked back over my shoulder.
14:34And the spot where it had been standing was empty.
14:38There was nothing there.
14:39No person.
14:41No costume.
14:42Nothing.
14:43And there wasn't anywhere nearby it could have hidden that quickly.
14:47The next morning, I walked past that same driveway in the daylight.
14:52Just to see if there were decorations that could explain what I saw.
14:56But there was nothing at all.
14:58Not even leftover props.
15:00Or footprints.
15:02Or anything that suggested that someone had been standing there the night before.
15:06I still go out for walks sometimes.
15:08But I never go down that side of the street anymore.
15:12Because I can't shake that feeling that one night.
15:15If I do, I'll see it standing there again.
15:19Perfectly still.
15:21Like it's waiting for me to come close enough to notice its breathing.
15:30I have only ever told this to my ex-husband.
15:32But now I am telling it to the Reddit community.
15:35I started seeing a man when I was 11 years old.
15:39The first time I saw him was at night.
15:41And he was behind a tree.
15:42He peeked out.
15:45Laughed.
15:45And it scared me so much that I ran to my aunt's house.
15:49To be honest, it wasn't something I thought about again.
15:51But when I was 15, I went to visit my godmother for a week.
15:55During this trip, my half-sister came with me.
15:58My sister lives in another city, by the way.
16:01And would come to visit occasionally during summer vacation.
16:04When we were at my godmother's house, she had to spend the night in the hospital.
16:10Because her boyfriend had been in an accident.
16:13My cousin, my sister, and I were there.
16:15The house was huge, with four bedrooms.
16:18My sister and I were going to sleep in the first bedroom.
16:22The one that opened into the kitchen.
16:23That room had two large beds and a bathroom, which was convenient since we didn't have to go out to
16:29the bathroom past the living room in the middle of the night.
16:32We went to sleep, and the next morning when I woke up, my sister wasn't in bed.
16:38I should mention that my sister isn't a morning person, so it seemed strange to me, but I didn't think
16:43much of it.
16:44I went to the kitchen and found my cousin pouring herself some juice.
16:48She asked me,
16:49Did you and your sister argue or something?
16:52I asked her why, and she said,
16:54Well, I woke up and she was sleeping with me.
16:56And I looked at her like,
16:58What in the heck happened?
16:59So I went to ask my sister why she left me sleeping alone.
17:04She told me,
17:05I saw someone in the room, and the door was locked.
17:08There was no way anyone could get into our room because besides the lock on the door,
17:12I had also locked both bolts on the inside.
17:16I thought it was my imagination, so I turned away,
17:19but a few minutes later when I turned around again, he was still there.
17:22And this time, he was pointing at our bed.
17:25I'm not someone who gets scared easily, but something told me to get out of that room.
17:30When I went to your cousin's room, I saw that your cousin's door was open.
17:34I peeked in, and he was asleep, so there was no way it was a joke on his part.
17:39Luckily, your cousin hadn't locked her door, and I went in.
17:42I tried to wake you up, but you wouldn't wake up, which is why you woke up alone in bed.
17:48By the way, I had a few drinks with my cousin that night, but my sister didn't drink anything except
17:53tea.
17:54I asked her what the man she saw looked like, and when she described him,
17:58he was exactly like the man I saw when I was eleven years old.
18:02I didn't say anything, but for the last few days, neither of us slept in that room again.
18:07The third time I saw it was when I was eighteen.
18:10I woke up in the middle of the night, and that thing was just a few steps away from my
18:15bed,
18:16standing at the window, staring at me.
18:19I quickly got up and turned on the light, but it was gone.
18:23A month passed before I slept in my room again.
18:26After that, I got married and my husband at the time and I moved to another country.
18:31One night, when I was twenty-five, I woke up in the middle of the night, and that thing was
18:37just a step from my bed.
18:39I screamed so loudly that I woke my ex-husband.
18:42I told him everything, and he obviously didn't believe me.
18:46He's an atheist and doesn't believe in anything, so he said I was just imagining things.
18:52I'm not imagining things because my sister saw it, and I've never told anyone about it.
18:57It's been eighty years since I last saw it, and I'm terrified it will reappear, since it was just a
19:03step away from my bed.
19:05I'm very afraid.
19:06My current husband and I have been living in our apartment for about two years, and nothing strange ever happened,
19:12until things started disappearing from the house, and other times would just fall off on their own.
19:18We jokingly said it was elves stealing things and playing tricks.
19:22We didn't pay much attention to it, but one night something fell in the bathroom in the middle of the
19:27night,
19:27and it made a really loud noise.
19:29We live on the eighteenth floor of the building, which is new, but less than four years old,
19:34and we're the first ones to live in this apartment.
19:37Anyway, after that loud crash, we got up, and what had fallen was my disposable eraser.
19:43It was impossible for it to have fallen from where it was and to have landed so far.
19:48It seemed like someone had picked it up and thrown it, and the noise didn't make sense.
19:54We don't have any pets, not even rats, and that bathroom doesn't have windows.
19:58The only way to get in is through our bedroom, and we had the door locked.
20:04After summer arrived, we started sleeping with the bedroom door open.
20:07We put a floor fan right in the entryway because I couldn't sleep with the air conditioning on.
20:12It made me congested.
20:14For three days we slept with that fan, and it never moved.
20:18Until one night, around midnight, I felt the heat, and saw that the fan was pointing towards the living room.
20:25I got up and turned it towards the bedroom, and after about ten minutes, it turned back.
20:30I got up and turned it again, and it didn't turn back all night.
20:35The next day, we visited my mother-in-law, and I mentioned that things were falling and going missing, and
20:41we thought it was elves.
20:42I said it jokingly, and my mother-in-law said it could be some kind of entity in our apartment.
20:47I thought she was joking, but then my husband said,
20:50I've been seeing a woman outside our bedroom door.
20:53She can't come in, but she just stares at you.
20:55He has since bought me a small owl, which we placed in front of the TV, facing us, with its
21:01back to the door.
21:02In his beliefs, the owl prevents spirits from entering the room.
21:06After that, we went to the park and bought incense.
21:10Things stopped disappearing or falling, and my husband has told me he never saw her again.
21:19Something strange happened the morning after my mother died.
21:23Back in 2016, my mom was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer,
21:28where only a year later, the doctors would then find three lesions in her brain.
21:34Two years later after her first diagnosis, my mom would sadly pass away.
21:39By this time, in summer of 2018, we had been living in the Irish countryside for only a few months.
21:46My dad told me the news of my mom's passing on a very sunny morning,
21:50and to process this, I went to sit in the back garden.
21:54Almost numb with denial, I then noticed something strange about my shadow.
21:59For some reason, the silhouette of my face looked exactly like that of my mom.
22:04I don't really look that much like my mom, as I more resemble my dad,
22:08but the face I saw in the shadow indeed appeared to be that of my mom.
22:14However, this was by no means the strangest thing to happen that morning.
22:18Only a little time later, still set outside in the back garden,
22:22my dog then starts reacting to something coming from the open back door.
22:27When I go over to investigate, I realize what my dog is reacting to
22:31is a noise coming from the empty trash can directly behind the door.
22:36My dog seemed frightened of whatever this was, so I walk cautiously over to the trash can to peer inside.
22:43What I see at the very bottom of the empty trash can is a tiny shrew, seemingly stuck and trying
22:49hopelessly to find its way out.
22:51If you're wondering why finding a shrew in a trash can is so strange, then let me explain.
22:57My dad used to tell my mom that she had a cute nose, like a shrew, because of how pointy
23:02her nose was.
23:04So finding this shrew the day after my mom passed away was more than a little ironic.
23:09However, what was also strange about this was, there was no way this tiny shrew could have climbed inside the
23:15trash can.
23:16The can was too tall and completely empty, with no trash or anything inside.
23:23So how this shrew got in there and was unable to get out again was rather odd.
23:27Calling my dad from the next room, he then comes to the kitchen and sees the shrew.
23:32My dad's always been good with animals, and so he scoops the shrew carefully into his hands,
23:38brings it to the garden and releases it back into the wild.
23:41To sum up what I'm trying to get at here, on the morning after my mom's passing,
23:46I see my mother's face in my own shadow, and then I find a shrew, my dad's pet name for
23:52her,
23:53that impossibly got itself stuck inside a trash can.
23:56Although we did live in the countryside, and so there were wild animals everywhere,
24:01this is the only shrew I have seen to date.
24:04This experience was very weird to me at the time, and now thinking back on it, it still is.
24:10I know grief does strange things to the brain, but my dad, who considers himself an atheist,
24:16also found the shrew thing very strange.
24:19I don't really know all that much regarding the supernatural connection to death,
24:24and so if anyone has any insight into this experience of mine, I would really appreciate the advice.
24:30I don't believe my mom was reincarnated as a shrew or anything.
24:35And regarding her face in the shadow, I am aware the mind can play tricks on you,
24:40but because I've heard other strange stories of people after losing loved ones,
24:45I'm more inclined to believe all this wasn't just a coincidence.
24:54I have two stories from my childhood that are likely connected.
24:58The first is from when I was in elementary school.
25:01The house we lived in was a ranch or prairie style home,
25:06the majority of the house being on the ground level.
25:09You climb up the front porch and enter into the living room,
25:12which went directly into the dining room,
25:15and then from there it was a straight line to the kitchen and back porch.
25:20The bedrooms and bathroom came off the dining room.
25:23The basement and attic were accessible by a small hallway connecting the kitchen and back porch.
25:30One summer day, my brothers and I were playing hide and seek.
25:34My brother, M, was the seeker.
25:37After some time hiding in the attic and not being found,
25:41I managed to sneak into the dining room, hoping to hide under the dining room table.
25:47When I crawled under, M was there, but staring at me intently
25:52before running back to the porch in a human imitation of a wolf or a dog or such.
25:59Believing I was safe, I crawled out of the table,
26:02only to get caught by M, who was in the living room petting our dog.
26:07Obviously, what was under the table wasn't my brother,
26:10but then what was it?
26:13Flash forward a few years, and I'm in middle school now.
26:16The typical thing was for my grandparents to pick us up from school,
26:20and we would stay at their house until whichever of our parents got off work first to come get us.
26:25Until one day, I was going up and down this kind of steep hill in front of my grandparents' house
26:32on a razor scooter.
26:34I was getting used to the higher steeper parts of the hill.
26:37As I went down the street for a pass, my brother, R, is standing there.
26:42To avoid hitting him, I turned, my wheel caught on the curb and I was thrown into a tree.
26:48I could feel that I scraped my cheek pretty badly, so I meandered into my grandparents' house to seek some
26:55medical attention.
26:56My brother, R, was just staring at me and smiling from the middle of the road.
27:02Anyway, I stepped inside my grandparents' house and my brother, R, was playing a video game.
27:07Perhaps one instance of this I could sum up to hallucination, but my cheek was wrapped in gauze and medical
27:14tape for multiple weeks.
27:16That's not just a hallucination.
27:19And thus, the first instance likely isn't a hallucination either.
27:23And I'll state that I haven't had many instances like those in over two decades, but around four years ago,
27:30in my previous apartment,
27:32I did wake up to a shadowy figure watching over me from my bedroom doorway.
27:37Which I've chalked up to being a sleep paralysis demon, but given the prior experiences, it might not be a
27:45paralysis demon.
27:50I don't know who else has experienced this, but there was this one night where my mom had to go
27:56to work at a night shift,
27:58leaving myself and my grandmother alone in the house.
28:02I was 16 years old at that time, and my mom left probably at 8pm after reminding me what to
28:10do before going to sleep.
28:11I was surfing through the internet that night, using my tablet with my wired headphones plugged in my ears.
28:18Then, about 30 minutes later, after she left, I heard my mother's voice outside the house.
28:25I didn't respond right away because I was waiting for her to tell me what she wanted while calling out
28:31my name from the outside.
28:33So my earphones were still plugged in my ears.
28:36A few seconds later, she was still calling out my name.
28:40After a few seconds, of her still calling out my name, I stood up from the bed, and I still
28:46did not answer her calls for my name.
28:48I just looked outside the window, looking for the source of the noise, but I saw no one.
28:54So I lied down in my bed again, plugged in my earphones and watched YouTube videos.
28:59A few minutes later, I heard her voice again, calling out my name without giving any specific orders or telling
29:06me exactly what she wanted.
29:07I pretended not to hear her voice because I was waiting for her to tell me what she wanted and
29:12waiting for her tone to change because I was purposely ignoring her call.
29:16But even so, I stood up again and looked outside from the window from my room, even extending half of
29:23my body outside of the window just to see the person calling my name.
29:26But there was still no one.
29:28I tried so hard to see some sort of sign that there was a person on the other side of
29:33the door, like feet, legs, or clothing, but there wasn't really anything.
29:38Eventually, I decided to go downstairs.
29:41I walked past my sleeping grandmother, who did not seem to hear my mom calling for me.
29:47She was a light sleeper, and my grandmother would have called my name as well if she had heard my
29:52mom calling for me from the outside.
29:54I continued to open the door without thinking that there might be a person that would attack, rob, or prank
30:00us.
30:00As I opened the door, I saw absolutely no one.
30:04Literally nothing was there but darkness, because it was night time and the neighbors next door that were usually at
30:12each other's throats yelling were not there.
30:14I think they were on vacation at that time and their lights were off, as well as the houses next
30:19to them and ours.
30:21I stepped outside the doorway to double check even though I clearly saw no one at the door.
30:27I continued to observe the neighborhood from where I was standing.
30:31I noticed that there were no other lights turned on on our block, but shrugged it off since there was
30:36nobody outside but myself.
30:38I then stepped inside the house and noticed that the kitchen part of our house was dark.
30:44In order to turn on the kitchen light, I have to press a button on the bulb, but the bulb
30:49is inside the kitchen.
30:51The thing is, is that our kitchen was connected to our bathroom.
30:55There was no hallway.
30:56The kitchen and the bathroom door, where the bathroom light was, is always off after use, so it was no
31:02big deal that it was dark.
31:04But having both the kitchen and bathroom lights off is what gave me the creeps, like someone or something was
31:11there, waiting for someone to go into the kitchen.
31:14I took a mental note and went back to my room, walking past my sleeping grandmother once again.
31:20I plugged in my earphones and continued to surf the internet on my bed.
31:24After a few moments in my room, the realization hit me that I was not alert of my surroundings.
31:30It didn't occur to me that somebody with a weapon could have been behind the door and killed me and
31:35my grandmother.
31:36I also realized that my mother's voice that was calling for me did not change as she kept on calling
31:42for me, from the outside, or from wherever she was.
31:47Normally, she would have been pissed thinking that I was deliberately ignoring her calls and should have yelled louder.
31:53I also noticed that while the lights on our block were off, the lights on the next block were on.
32:00So, I don't really know what that was.
32:03All I know is that it was my mother's voice.
32:06I didn't think anyone or anything would mimic my mother's exact voice that night.
32:11I still don't know if it was a mimic, or what a mimic looks like, or if it was something
32:17else entirely.
32:17This is my first time ever talking about this occurrence.
32:21I haven't told anyone about it, not even my mom.
32:25If I told her, she would scold me for not being alert and just opening the door because I heard
32:29someone call out my name.
32:31After this incident, nothing similar has happened.
32:34But, whenever someone calls my name, in a crowd or when I'm alone, I don't answer or look in that
32:41direction right away.
32:42I wait for them to catch my attention by touching me or walking into my vision so I can see
32:47who called for me.
32:49If any of you have had a similar experience to me, please share.
32:52If any of you have any questions, please share.
32:58I hope you enjoyed this video.
