00:00Express coach operator Aeroline has announced that Kuala Lumpur will no longer be a boarding
00:06and drop-off point for its services.
00:09The company, which offered services from the capital city to Singapore and Penang, said
00:15it received a directive from the government on May 13, stating that it could only operate
00:20from licensed terminals, namely Wanutama, Lallaport and Iowai City Mall, but this posed
00:27challenges for its passengers.
00:30In a Facebook post, the company said it had made the very difficult decision to leave
00:35Kuala Lumpur entirely and focus on serving customers elsewhere rather than compromising
00:41its values, charging more or delivering a compromised experience.
00:47In January, Transport Minister Lok Su Phuk said express bus operators serving the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore route
00:54were granted a moratorium to continue operating from their current pick-up points.
01:00He said that operators must relocate once the Lallaport hub and other designated terminals
01:06were fully ready, aimed at ending disorganised roadside boarding in congested areas, particularly
01:13in front of hotels and shopping complexes, which pose risk to passenger safety and traffic flow.
