Leeds City Council is restarting its free brown bin collections after the winter break. Residents are also being encouraged to compost and reuse garden waste to support the environment.

00:06its winter pause, also known as its high bination. Collections resume from the 23rd of March for all
00:14households that receive the service across the Leeds City. Leeds City Council says it's provided
00:20at no extra charge to help reduce waste going into black bins. Residents can check collection
00:25dates online and larger amounts can be taken to recycling centres across Leeds. People
00:30are encouraged to compost or reuse cuttings to support wildlife and gardens. Officials
00:36say the service collects around 30,000 tonnes each year from more than 200,000 households.
