00:00And I'm wondering just where you stand on what we're looking at at Adair Manor next year, where we have
00:05Jim Furyk in as a captain.
00:07We thought for a long while it might be Tiger Woods. There are kind of other factors have played in
00:11there.
00:12And, you know, against that Jim Furyk appointment, we're looking at Luke Donalds, who's already made scouting trips to Adair
00:19Manor,
00:19who is preparing for a third potential three wins in a row, maybe the greatest Ryder Cup captain of all
00:25time.
00:25And this is this is highly open ended. But just give me where you're standing on general thoughts on both
00:33sides as we're looking ahead to the Ryder Cup at Adair Manor in 2027.
00:37So when the Furyk announcement was made, I wrote on digest, I said, this is the best choice you could
00:42have made.
00:42And the amount of hate I got for that was incredible. You're right. You're right, though.
00:46You're not. I think I'm right. I think I'm right. And I'll give you my quick spiel, which is that
00:51I, you know,
00:52looking at the overarching history of the modern U.S. Ryder Cup for a long time, there was no real
00:57tactics because, you know,
00:58until the 80s, they just beat them every single time. So Europe, Europe, when they became Europe,
01:03had to kind of devise tactics because they didn't have players that were as good as the Americans.
01:07And they frankly, they still don't, even though it's way closer.
01:10But they came up with a whole system and a template that over 40 years with only a few aberrations,
01:15they have kept developing.
01:16And so the U.S. at a certain point figured it out, but it took like 30 of those years.
01:21But Paul Azinger did a great job in 2008, and he happened to run up against one of the few
01:25bad European captains in Faldo.
01:27They kind of forgot what he did, but then Davis Love picked it up in 12.
01:31Davis Love did a great job and got incredibly unlucky on Sunday at Medina.
01:35They threw out everything. They brought Tom Watson in. Disaster.
01:38And then it comes to the point where the important thing about Furyk is, which is they developed this task
01:43force,
01:44which because it's called a task force, everybody laughs at it.
01:46But I thought the three guys who became captains who were on that task force, Davis Love, Steve Stricker, and
01:52Jim Furyk,
01:53really did a good job coming, you know, taking what they, what worked with Azinger and with Love and Medina,
01:59making a system that would do well.
