00:00Can you give us just a play-by-play on, we saw it on TV and we saw the interview after,
00:04but just walk us through what happened when you were right there watching the whole thing.
00:08Yeah, totally.
00:08So I'm sitting there right on the side of the hill, right on top of the whole deal,
00:12and Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Rose both had birdie putts left.
00:16Bryson had about 10 feet, Justin had probably about 12 feet.
00:20And from where I was sitting, it felt to me like Justin Rose was clearly away,
00:26but Bryson was going about his routine like it was his turn.
00:31So even when my producer's asking my ear, hey, who's up next?
00:34In my mind, I'm thinking, well, it's Justin,
00:37but it seems that there's a lot going on with the routine of Bryson DeChambeau.
00:42And right as Bryson's caddy Greg started to get in on the action of reading the putt as well,
00:48going through his process, that's where he got too close to the coin of Justin Rose and his routine.
00:54And then, of course, the, hey, back off.
00:58And that's when the fireworks started.
01:01It was in that moment, Justin clearly thought he was away.
01:06Greg clearly thought that Bryson, it was his turn.
01:09It was an honest mistake by Bryson's caddy.
01:11And a quick, maybe knee-jerk reaction from Justin is probably the best way to describe it.
01:18Was it a little on the chippy side and a little over the top?
01:21Yeah, it just depends if you felt like Greg thought Justin was away.
01:26If Greg didn't know that Justin was away,
01:29then you can understand why the USA side would be upset with how snippy the remark was
01:34or how snippy it felt like it was.
01:36So with all that going on, Justin makes the putt.
01:40Yeah, Justin Rose makes the putt.
01:41And then Greg works his way to the back of the green
01:44where Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose were sitting.
01:46And I'm watching as Greg kind of works his way there and clearly wants to talk about it
01:52and just whether it's apologizing or just, you know, kind of clearing the air a little bit.
01:58Then there were some words ments, and I could tell it wasn't quite over.
02:02And if Bryson doesn't make the putt, sure, there probably would have been a reaction.
02:06Because that would have ended the match.
02:08Well, it would have ended the match.
02:09In a charged fashion.
02:10There would have been some words exchanged regardless.
02:12But when Bryson made the putt, then the adrenaline of the putt came out.
02:16Now he's yelling and screaming.
02:17He's yelling and screaming at other players.
02:20And so you understand Bryson defending his caddie in that situation
02:24because he obviously didn't feel like he was in the wrong.
02:28And so next thing you know, I'm like, all right, I'm getting in this thing like Bravo TV
02:31and I'm running up the hill with everybody
02:33because everybody now is getting in on the action.
02:36Tommy Fleetwood's yelling.
02:37Ted Scott and Molinari are getting into it.
02:40I've never seen Tommy quite get this animated.
02:42He's trying to.
02:43That shocked me.
02:44And Fino is his caddie.
02:47Tommy Fleetwood's caddie.
02:48He's getting after it.
02:50And so at one point, I thought we were going to have an all-out WWE brawl.
02:56And just insanity.
02:58They got to a point where they had to wait on the tee.
03:01There was apologies exchange to where I felt like Scotty and the Fleetwood camp
03:06eventually calmed down a little bit.
03:09Bryson, I don't think, ever quite got over it mentally
03:12because he kind of stepped away from it to where he just didn't want to associate it
03:17because I felt like it could have really gotten worse from there
03:21because Bryson was still heated.
03:23Justin was still in this.
03:25I mean, dude, the guy played unbelievable golf,
03:27like some of the best golf I've ever witnessed.
03:28Do you know how many strokes he gained putting?
03:31I would guess probably three and a half.
03:324.56 strokes gained putting.
03:34Well, the ball striking was just as good.
03:36I mean, we can get into that, of course, just what the day was like following them.
03:41But just the overall drama, it felt like it was a storyline today.
03:44And then the group in front of us, the Rory and Shane,
03:46all of the stuff that happened there I'm sure you can talk about.
03:49But overall, it was a shame that that match had to end that way.
03:53But I think a little bit of it, too, was just overall frustration from Bryson.
04:01And then Teddy was, of course, frustrated by it.
04:04But frustration just of how good Bryson and Scottie really played
04:09and just getting their butt whooped.
04:11And I think a little bit of it, too, was just a little bit of it.
