06:30Sidhra Maya, now the former Chief Minister, the outgoing Chief Minister, in fact, of Karnataka
06:36has departed for Delhi after resigning. Sidhra Maya is to meet the Gandhis and also Mr.
06:42Karge in the national capital. Sidhra's very emotional post on X after resigning, sort of
06:48speaks volumes of that. He says, and I quote here now, he says,
06:52Born and raised in a village I never even dreamed that one day I would become the ruler, the minister,
06:59the leader of opposition and twice the Chief Minister of the state. The fulfilment of such
07:05a grand dream is thanks to Babasaheb Ambedkar's constitution playing to his roots over there.
07:12He goes on to say, I am eternally indebted to the party's legislators who elected me as the leader of
07:20the legislative party and provided the opportunity to serve as Chief Minister until now. To my cabinet
07:27colleagues, he says, who worked shoulder to shoulder with me, to the party's senior leaders,
07:32Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and AICC President Malik Argun Kharge, who gave me the opportunity and the
07:39warm-hearted Canadians who filled my entire political life with love, admiration and held my
07:45hand to guide me this far. My resignation is limited only to the post of Chief Minister,

13:39And he is going to thank them the kind of opportunity and the cooperation that he has got.
13:44And also politely refuse the Rajya Sabha offer which has been given to him.
13:50Remember, he has categorically mentioned in the press conference stating that he will not go to national politics.
13:56However, he will stay active in the Karnataka politics.
14:01He will not be there in the electoral politics probably after this tenure.
14:04He might not contest.
14:06But he is going to be there.
14:08And even D.K. Shukumar n number of times has accepted the fact that Siddharamaya is a mass leader.
14:14And he requires Siddharamaya when it comes to administration as well as the numbers of a seat to secure in
14:24the state of Karnataka during assembly elections.

15:18I am again trying to understand what finally pivoted in the favour of DKS that he is in this position
15:25today.
15:26We are of course seeing pictures, very emotional of the two men.
15:30Both wanting power.
15:31Both wanting to be Chief Minister.
15:34Crying, you know, touching their feet.
15:36But in the heart of heart, we know how long this tussle has really gone, right?
15:40This is one story reporters in Karnataka like you haven't tired out of reporting just yet.
15:46So, I want to understand from you what worked in the favour of DKS this time around.
15:54Well, you know, like they say, there is only Nataka in the name of the state Karnataka.

16:14leaders,
16:14tall leaders, be it Siddharamaya or DK Shivkumar, they understand and they respect, you know, whatever is the call that
16:22is being given to them.
16:23Siddharamaya had been advised earlier on when the government was in formation after the Karnataka elections,
16:28that this will be a 2.5 year stint for each of them, be it Siddharamaya or DK Shivkumar.
16:34And they had already, the high commander, honoured Siddharamaya's wishes by extending for another six months,
16:39given that he wanted to fulfil, you know, his dream and his, you know, a feather in the cap for
16:45Siddharamaya
16:46by saying he is going to be the longest serving Chief Minister of Karnataka.
16:50And following that, now it has come a point where the long awaited and the patiently awaiting DK Shivkumar
16:57finally gets, you know, his pound of flesh that is given to him and that's what we can see as
17:03well over here.
17:03You know, just hours after Siddharamaya at that breakfast meeting had gone ahead and stated that,
17:09yes, the next Chief Minister of Karnataka will be DK Shivkumar.
17:13I am passing on the baton to him. Not only that, I am extending my support and I believe and,

17:20say that all of my supporters will also stand by DK Shivkumar.

19:50that they believe the Congress will bring the change.
19:52The Congress will bring the kind of good governance.
19:54And over the last three years, even just yesterday, before Sidramaya had announced that, you know,
19:59he is likely to take a decision on resigning today.
20:02You know, he had gone ahead and put out a post on Platform X,
20:06wherein he talked about the three years in which what are the achievements that the Congress has done.
20:10And even today at the press conference, he had talked bravely and, you know,
20:14had talked about how the Congress government and what he believed as a chief minister he could provide for the
20:19state.
20:19And that that same kind of fervour and the kind of devotion that the Congress believe they have for Karnataka
20:26will be carried on by D.K. Shivkumar.
20:28That's what they believe in.

20:47If Siddharamaya gets to call the shots on who gets cabinet position, then it's practically the same, is it?
20:56Well, in fact, you know, Siddharamaya has now, as of now, said that he doesn't want a Rajya Sabha seat.
21:02He wants to work from the state, for the state as well.
21:05And that's why we can also see he's put in a request saying that, you know, I have a set
21:10of my people, my persons who I want to induct into the cabinet or be it, you know, induct into
21:16some corporation level kind of, you know, designations.

21:21Not only that, his son, most likely Yatindra, who is with MLC right now, he is also likely to be,
21:27you know, named as a minister and be inducted into the new cabinet of D.K. Shivkumar.
21:31But one thing that I must say, the people of Karnataka, the people of Bengaluru, in fact, specifically, still have

22:26Because D.K. Shivkumar, remember, he has even today morning, he had touched down and, you know, the feet of
22:32Sidramaya giving that respect, saying, listen, I acknowledge you are the tallest leader and I am going to need your
22:38support in this new chapter that I will take forth as the Chief Minister of Karnataka.
