00:07The world began to gasp as it stared at the sky that had turned into a storm.
00:13This year, El Nino is predicted to come again with its shadow of unfriendly hot temperatures.
00:22The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says the chance of it appearing is 62 percent by the middle of this year.
00:30It is even predicted to grow into something even more vicious called Super El Nino.
00:36Some even call it by a more alarming term, El Nino.
00:43In Indonesia, a similar warning has also been voiced by the National Research and Innovation Agency regarding the potential for extreme drought.
00:50Long droughts, clean water crises, forest fires, threats to the health sector, and crop failures are haunting us again.
00:59What's even more sad is that our mid-structure is still fragile in the face of changing weather.
01:04The rains that come from the planes mostly depend on the sky, not on a system that is ready to face the crisis.
01:11However, the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency, BMKG, provided some slightly reassuring news.
01:18It was stated that the chance of this phenomenon reaching its super strong level was only in the range of 15 to 20 percent.
01:25He said the most likely scenario is at the pleasant level.
01:29But hasn't history taught us many things, including that the weather doesn't always match the calculations?
01:37Uncertainty is high and the risks remain real.
01:40If a super El Nino does occur, the world will again record warmer periods that surpass the warmest recorded years from previous years.
01:48Drought and flooding can even occur at the same time, in different places, on an equally painful scale.
01:56Just a reminder that the biggest threat, sometimes, isn't what's certain to happen.
02:01But rather on what we often ignore, what we often don't anticipate.
02:05And amidst the possibility of increasingly hot skies, we must at least ensure that our concern for others does not dry up.
02:16Don't let the people around us have to struggle alone to bear the burden of life amidst the El Nino heat.
