00:00Okay, gentlemen, we have been in the racing room.
00:03I don't want to see any repeat punches.
00:05Protect yourself at all times.
00:07Touch those battery coins. Good luck.
00:09All right, we are in this super lightweight division.
00:11Let's see if Mahmoud Mubarak can join Omar Hakil
00:15and pick up a win in their pro debuts, back-to-back.
00:19Yeah, I'm sure Mahmoud Mubarak is coming to make a statement.
00:22Second time, round one.
00:24Oh, he came jumping out of the course.
00:25As I was saying it, yes, he came right out,
00:27willing to impose his guy.
00:29He went right up into a high guard.
00:34So many different countries being represented on the card tonight.
00:38Obviously, Egypt.
00:39We've got Uzbekistan, United States, Germany, the U.K., Tanzania, Indonesia,
00:46Saudi Arabia, the list goes on and on.
00:49Yes, boxing is a real international sport, and this card right here
00:52really put the stamp on it and explains it all in one.
00:55But I like what Mahmoud's doing now.
00:56He's going to the body already.
00:57I love when I see young fighters do that.
00:59They don't go headhunting.
01:01He's stepping to his opponent with his hands up properly.
01:04Well, I mentioned that Mubarak had success as an amateur.
01:07What do you think is the biggest difference, besides obviously the equipment,
01:12in amateur pro boxing that guys struggle to kind of learn at the beginning?
01:15That could take the time.
01:16In amateur boxing, you don't really have that kind of time,
01:18and you can't really fight like a professional because even in his pro debut,
01:22I'm not sure if this is a four-round or a six-rounder,
01:25but he had so much more time, a four-rounder, so he had so much more time
01:28than he would in the amateurs.
01:30And he's trained like a professional.
01:31That was right on the air.
01:32That's a real knockdown, yes.
01:33I thought it was, too, Malik.
01:35Oh, no, that was a real knockdown.
01:36He hit him right on the air, I believe, with a right hand.
01:38Let's see how he responds now.
01:40He's going to try and jab Mubarak away from him.
01:43That's going to be his form of defense right now.
01:47Good feint.
01:48He's feinting good, even though he has his opponent hurt.
01:50That's a very good sign in a young fighter.
01:52And again.
01:53Yes, he went with an overhand.
01:54Oh, I love that.
01:55No silent agreements right there.
01:56He's not allowing his opponent to clinch him.
02:01Sarakuma, you can tell, leads to his right,
02:04and that's perfect for Mubarak to come down and clip him on the temple.
02:07With that right hand.
02:10This right here, Ty, this is where I get most impressed at with young fighters,
02:14and I want to speak on it.
02:16If you ever want to know the maturity of a young fighter,
02:19just look at how they act when they have their guys hurt.
02:21Do they go to the body?
02:22Do their technique get wild?
02:24Do they come ultimately out of character?
02:25And right now, he has his opponent hurt.
02:27He just got a good knockdown.
02:29And he's kind of taking his time,
02:31and he's not going just so wild and losing a sense of his all technique.
02:35Going back to his jab.
02:37Good hook.
02:38He's not just overcommitting because he's got his opponent hurt.
02:48Sarakuma at least trying to get his, as they say, being offensive,
02:51but he doesn't have any knockouts in his young career,
02:54so not really a power guy.
03:00Good hook right there.
03:02I like the footwork I'm seeing.
03:05Not just standing right there.
03:06Good shot, and then he came with the hook after the little shot.
03:09See, right now is where he needs to calm down.
03:11He didn't miss his big shots,
03:13especially the shots that he got his knockdown with.
03:15So now just go back to your jab.
03:17The jab set all of that back up for you,
03:19but these young fighters, they just want to get a knockout,
03:22especially on this type of card.
03:23They want to make a statement,
03:24so sometimes they throw caution to everything
03:27and say, I'm going to get back to the big shots.
03:29The jab is key.
03:30An educated left hand can get you everything in the world
03:33that you want to get,
03:34but you've got to get back to it,
03:35especially when you have your opponents hurt.
03:45See, Abel Sanchez was saying
03:46he don't even want to see him opening up too much.
03:48He wanted him to get back to his jab.
03:49And there was that right hand.
03:51That was a right hand knockdown, yes.
03:51That is a textbook knockout.
03:54The ref didn't even count.
03:55He didn't see it,
03:56but it definitely was a knockdown.
03:57He caught him on the air,
03:58knocked his equilibrium off right in the moment.
04:01Yeah, it don't get no more than a knockdown.
04:02And of course, you know,
04:04the physical push kind of added on to it,
04:06but he was hurt before that happened.
04:11Always love when I see these young fighters
04:12also making eye contact with their trainers.
04:15Their eyes are not all over the place
04:16when they're receiving instructions.
04:17It's always a good sign.
04:20Well, when you got someone like Abel Sanchez
04:21talking in your ear, you better listen.
04:23Absolutely.
04:24Abel don't take no crap.
04:25Seconds out.
04:25Round two.
04:27So the first two fighters of the night
04:29are trained by Abel Sanchez.
04:31We've also seen him with Muhammad Al-Aqil,
04:33the young Saudi Arabian fighter.
04:35So a lot of trust in the Middle East
04:37with Abel Sanchez to take these guys over
04:40where he can turn them from prospects to contenders.
04:42Why do you think they chose him
04:44out of all the trainers they could have gone with?
04:46Because Abel Sanchez is,
04:48besides him being a good coach,
04:49he actually has a good system as well.
04:51Well, what do I mean by he has a good system?
04:53He has a training area
04:55that these fighters can go and sacrifice their lifestyle.
04:58They can sacrifice staying away from family,
05:00distractions or anything.
05:01And the cherry on top of all of that, Todd,
05:04is Abel is an incredible coach.
05:06Right hand straight down the pipe.
05:08It's okay.
05:08Right down the pipe.
05:09And up to the body.
05:10What I like the most what he did there,
05:12he went with the hook to the body
05:13after landing the straight right hand.
05:14He didn't just continue to go with the right hand
05:16and go with the right hand.
05:17He switched up his attack.
05:19And I like Sarah Kuna being aggressive as well.
05:21He's landed some punches here in round two.
05:24And Todd, what I was saying about Abel Sanchez,
05:26he's incredible at developing fighters,
05:28especially come-forward fighters.
05:30He's very good at it.
05:31So I totally understand why these guys want to go over
05:33to Big Bear with Abel Sanchez and develop their skills.
05:36Yeah, you need more of a teacher than a trainer, so to speak.
05:39Absolutely, and Abel is all of the above.
05:44Especially from some of these countries
05:45that aren't known for being strong in professional boxing.
05:49For some reason, they just can't make the transition.
05:51The pros at a right hand there from Sarenkuma.
05:53Yes.
05:54Clark's got to be careful.
05:55Right hand.
05:59Real good right here.
06:02You heard Abel Sanchez in the corner telling Mubarak,
06:04I don't want to see these one-punch knockout-type blows
06:08who set everything up with a jab.
06:10And Mubarak need to get his chin down a bit, too,
06:11especially when he's going in with his attack.
06:14His chin is a little bit up.
06:15He got hit with a right hand there because his chin is up.
06:17And that's a subconscious thing.
06:18Sometimes fighters aren't aware that their chin is up.
06:21They think their chin is down.
06:22But it's never how you feel.
06:24You always have to exaggerate your safety.
06:26And what do I mean by that?
06:26If you feel like your chin is down, put it down more,
06:29especially when these punches are coming at you.
06:31Nice right hand ball by a left hook here from Mubarak,
06:35who's now yelling like a tennis player with every shot.
06:37He just got hit with a good jab, a good center jab right there
06:40that knocked his balance off a bit.
06:43Pretty competitive round two here.
06:48As Ali Surakuma is putting up some resistance.
06:51Yes, Surakuma is not taking, you know, he didn't get the memo.
06:54He's in here trying.
06:54He's in here fighting.
06:55He's in here fighting.
06:56Going to the body with both hands.
06:59That left hook could have been dangerous.
07:01Landed a good 2-1 right there.
07:02He switched up his own attack, not the 1-2.
07:04He went with the 2-1.
07:08And, you know, it does, other than build confidence,
07:11it doesn't do much for a fighter making his pro debut
07:13if he just goes in there and blasts the guy out.
07:15Mubarak is learning on the job here.
07:17This guy is teaching him some things.
07:19Absolutely.
07:19And that's why I said early,
07:21I love when young fighters that's making a pro debut,
07:23they go in with fighters here, possibly with a losing record.
07:26But that losing record means that you're going in with someone
07:28that's been in a professional ring longer than you
07:30and more times than you.
07:32And he's learning in here tonight.
07:39Let's watch some of these exchanges.
07:41Yeah.
07:43Their chin is up right there in the center.
07:45And Ali could have actually had his chin,
07:47his eyes closed and landed that right hand
07:49because Mordok's chin is just right there for overhand, right?
07:59Thank you, brother.
08:12I would even like to see Sarah Kuma come out
08:14and get to a jab.
08:15He had a good round right there, I would say.
08:17Come back, out this round right here
08:19and set everything up behind an educated left hand.
08:21I mean, the jab don't have to be hard,
08:23it just have to be a distraction
08:24so he can let, you know, land some more of his offense.
08:29Seconds out, round three.
08:33All right, round three scheduled, 4-4.
08:35This is a super lightweight division just joining us.
08:38Mahmoud Mubarak making his professional debut,
08:41fighting out of Egypt, taking on Uganda's Ali Seren Kuma.
08:45It's been a pretty competitive contest,
08:48although you've got to believe Mubarak did win the first two rounds.
08:51Yeah, I would say, I would say.
08:52Ali really put up a good effort in the second round.
08:55He landed some good shots, but Mubarak is coming back now,
08:58and I'm sure he's really going with that left hook.
09:02And what he's doing with that left hook,
09:03he's trying to slip the jab and then come with.
09:06He's actually loading his left hip up
09:08so he can land a real crushing left hook like he did there.
09:11He actually missed it, but that's the shot that he wants to land.
09:14See, like right there.
09:15But if he was to slip to his left,
09:16he would slip the jab and then come with that hook,
09:19that's going to be a much more powerful hook.
09:23Nice right hand there.
09:25Seren Kuma.
09:27Yeah, that's the second or third good right hand that he's landed.
09:32Mubarak.
09:34I was going to say,
09:35he's been kind of allowing Seren Kuma to come to him,
09:38but that was not the case on that exchange.
09:40Mubarak need to get to a good jab.
09:43Like he's throwing every shot except the jab.
09:45He's throwing overhand rights, overhand lefts, uppercuts.
09:47Get back to a jab to distract your opponent
09:50from knowing about all those other weapons you have.
09:52That's it.
09:52Throw your jab.
09:55It sounds so easy.
09:57Why are fighters kind of reluctant to do that sometimes?
09:59Especially on these big cards, Todd,
10:01and they're young and they just want to get these.
10:03They want the knockout like all fighters do,
10:04so they sometimes throw caution to anything
10:07that can come across technically sound.
10:09But the technical part is sometimes we'll get you
10:11the big knockouts or your greatest performance.
10:13And that wouldn't even be considered like
10:15shooting technically sound.
10:16Like, I'm just saying, like, get to a jab.
10:18Throw your jab.
10:19See, those type of shots will land
10:20if he would put a jab before it first.
10:23Because he's telegraphing it.
10:24And if you're throwing a big shot like that without a jab,
10:27you have to telegraph it if you wanted to have power on it.
10:29And that allows your opponent to see it.
10:31Nice right hand.
10:32Straight right hand down the pipe.
10:33Seren Kuma walks right into that one.
10:35I would assume that would be your advice
10:37for Rico as well against Usyk, right?
10:38Work off the jab.
10:39Keep him away.
10:40Yes, and also, I think Rico,
10:43considering he's fighting Usyk,
10:44who's an incredible feint master,
10:46I think Rico should actually be the one
10:48that come out of the feint.
10:49Oh, nice left hand for Seren Kuma.
10:51And that buckled Mubarak,
10:53who's learning on the job quickly here.
10:55Right on the button with the left hook.
11:03Wow, good moment there for Seren Kuma.
11:05Good overhand right.
11:07He should switch up the attack down.
11:09Don't throw another overhand right.
11:10Go with another shot.
11:11There you go.
11:12Let's see how Seren Kuma,
11:14or excuse me,
11:14how Mubarak reacts to all this.
11:23Wow, that is aggressive refereeing there.
11:25Immediately, right?
11:28And that probably negates a round
11:30that Seren Kuma is winning
11:31because of that power shot.
11:33A devastating point for the Ugandans.
11:36I thought that was a bit premature.
11:39I don't even remember it really being warned.
11:41Warned, yes, me neither.
11:42I think he did one time.
11:43He did one time, but...
11:45Caught him again.
11:46Up and down, followed by left.
11:48Seren Kuma showed up in round three.
11:50Yes, he's doing enough,
11:51but I don't think he's winning a round.
11:52But what he is doing
11:53is giving a gallant effort.
11:54He's in the fight.
11:55But I believe he's learning a lot
11:57from Ali with this fight right here.
11:59I believe he's learning a lot
12:00from a much more experienced guy professionally.
12:02And he's paying his dues
12:04and he's listening to Abel Sanchez.
12:06But this round should be
12:06a lot more of a better round.
12:08And I'm just praying
12:08that he get back to the jab.
12:10I can't even say get back to the jab, Todd,
12:11because, you know,
12:12in these first two fights,
12:13these guys aren't even going to the jab.
12:15Well, that is excessive holding,
12:16as you can see right there.
12:17But that happens a hundred times
12:19a fight in heavyweight division.
12:20I mean, you got these little guys.
12:22He doesn't even really give them a warning.
12:23That's it.
12:24And that's that.
12:25Yeah, well, it was one warning,
12:26but I think, like,
12:27it still was a bit premature.
12:28Like, the second time,
12:29he could have went and gave him another warning
12:31and let him know that if it happens again.
12:32Well, that's where he goes with the hard warning.
12:34I mean, you say, hey, no holding.
12:35Say it 50 times.
12:36You go, listen,
12:37if you hold again,
12:38I'm going to take a point.
12:39Next time should be a point taken.
12:40Yes.
12:40Yes.
12:48Seconds out.
12:49Fourth and final round.
12:51Well, I tell you what,
12:53Mubarak can't take this fight for granted
12:55because Sarakuma has rocked him a couple times.
12:57Yes, he's in it.
12:58He's in it.
12:59And he's taking initiative.
13:00Like, right there,
13:00he came out and started jabbing
13:02through a double jab.
13:02He's taking initiative
13:03and basically letting him know
13:05that I'm not here,
13:06you know,
13:07to, you know,
13:08stick to no script.
13:09He's in there throwing bad attention punches,
13:12double jab,
13:13straight right hands.
13:13He's got to keep his chin down
13:15with the offense, though.
13:16Wait till you get caught.
13:17Left hook again.
13:18And I tell you what,
13:19Mubarak
13:22is kind of losing all his form and technique.
13:24He got clipped with another left hand.
13:25He's trying to turn this into a street fight, Malik.
13:28And that's not a good idea.
13:29If he don't be careful,
13:30the type of statement that he wants to make
13:32it may be made on him.
13:33He's got to get his chin down
13:34and he has to stop getting so wild
13:36when he has this guy hurt.
13:38When he get this guy hurt,
13:39he should actually go long with his punches,
13:40go with the long double jab
13:42than the long right hand.
13:44Either way,
13:46Uganda's got to be proud of Ali Sarakuma
13:48who didn't just show up to get a paycheck.
13:51Didn't just show up at all.
13:52He didn't get the memo.
13:53He did not get the memo.
13:55He's putting a good effort on him.
13:56So.
14:01But this is certainly a learning fight for Mubarak.
14:05And that's what these type of fights is for.
14:07Like you learn off of these.
14:08I'm sure, you know,
14:09seeing him three, four fights from now,
14:11I won't be saying he should jab.
14:12I won't be saying he should be so wild.
14:14And that come from with good development behind you
14:16like Abel Sanchez is.
14:17So I'm sure they're going to, you know,
14:18get back in the lab
14:19and, you know, fix these things
14:20that we're talking about tonight.
14:22And I think you'll agree,
14:23sometimes these younger fighters,
14:25when they do get clipped with a point,
14:26think, I've got to get it back right now.
14:28I've got to go get him.
14:29Instead of, if you're a little more seasoned,
14:30you go, okay, he got me.
14:31But let me wait for my opportunity
14:33to when I can get him
14:34instead of forcing the issue.
14:35Right.
14:36But it seemed like he forced the issue immediately
14:37as soon as he came out
14:38as if that got to him.
14:39That point being deducted.
14:41And that right there, that's a good thing.
14:42That just shows morale.
14:43That shows good spirit.
14:44And that shows competitiveness.
14:48The final minute of the fight
14:49as Mubarak lands a right hand.
14:53Shaky moments, though,
14:54here for the Egyptian.
14:56It's against a guy
14:57that does not have a pro knockout
14:59on his record.
15:05There's a couple jabs.
15:07Sarakuma.
15:07Yeah, Sarakuma's, in my opinion,
15:10Todd, he's throwing more jabs.
15:14He's certainly winning this round
15:15and probably would have won the third
15:17had it not been for the point deduction.
15:19Definitely in this fight.
15:20He's definitely in this fight.
15:21And I would actually like to see him
15:23pick it up more.
15:23Yes.
15:24Yes.
15:24I would like to see him
15:26go up and down with this offense.
15:27Switch it up.
15:29Even there.
15:30And the clinch right there,
15:30pull your hands out and fight.
15:36Right.
15:36Uppercut there from Mubarak
15:39as we approach the final
15:40ten seconds of this fight.
15:46Mubarak loves that move
15:48in hand right.
15:48He barely,
15:49he probably landed
15:50on the three of them
15:50the whole night.
15:51Maybe four.
15:52So that means
15:53I won't stop saying
15:54he had to get back to his jab
15:55and set up his offense.
15:57I would have been
15:57a lot more impressed
15:58and I'm sure Abel Sanchez
15:59is going to fix that.
16:00That's what he will do.
16:02All right,
16:02let's jump into some highlights
16:04from this fight.
16:05Mubarak versus Sarakuma.
16:07Good right there.
16:14Good right hand,
16:15Mubarak right there.
16:16And then after that,
16:17he pulled back
16:18when he should have
16:18pushed the attack
16:19a little bit more,
16:19pushed the envelope,
