00:05Boxers, obey my comments all the time.
00:07No rapid punches, kidney punches, or below the bed.
00:09Protect yourself at all times.
00:11Touchdowns, go back to corners.
00:13Good luck.
00:15Never quite seen a stare down like that.
00:17More of a back fist instead of a face-to-face.
00:19But either way, Omar Heichel about to take on Michael Kalealea
00:24in Heichel's professional debut.
00:26By the way, tonight's broadcast is available in dozens of languages,
00:30including Arabic, Spanish, English, Dutch, German, you name it.
00:34We've got you covered.
00:35Go to DAZN.com for more information.
00:38Todd Grisham and Malik Scott here ringside for this four-rounder.
00:42Yes, what's up, Todd?
00:43How you doing, brother?
00:43Doing great.
00:45Nice start to the show, by the way, up there with Ade.
00:49Omar is a softball, and I can tell right now.
00:51He's basically waiting for his opponent to overcommit.
00:54But he's doing that going forward.
00:56Usually when these guys want their opponent to overcommit,
00:59they are going backwards.
01:01A lot of pressure on Omar Heichel.
01:03I was just speaking about his father's fantastic amateur resume
01:06where he beat Alexander Usyk twice.
01:08Yes.
01:09And I think I said on the air yesterday,
01:11he didn't just beat Alexander Usyk twice, his father,
01:15but his father also beat Gennady Golovkin two times as well.
01:18And I also said, I don't care what you do in the rest of your life,
01:21if you've got two wins over each of those guys, you're very special.
01:23You're right.
01:24Heichel trying to land that straight left hand.
01:27You would think maybe Kalia Lea,
01:29knowing that Heichel's making his pro debut,
01:31might want to push him back, try and be a little aggressive.
01:33But instead, he's on that back foot.
01:36I see Omar finally got one of the left hands over.
01:38It wasn't the extended one that he wanted.
01:40And something else he's doing good that I like, Todd,
01:42he's actually putting the left hand out there as a feint,
01:45as he's just showing it as a decoy,
01:47so it can actually load up his right hook.
01:50And you know the expectations are high when you've got the Ring Magazine logo
01:55and Riyadh Season logo on your trunks for your debut.
01:58Yes, that's a real stamp on you, especially as a young fighter.
02:02Very cautious body shot with the left hand.
02:05Good body shot.
02:05He felt that as well.
02:08You can see now Kalia Lea is dropping that right hand down to protect himself.
02:11That could be dangerous.
02:13Yeah.
02:13And something he's doing already,
02:14he know he hurt the guy,
02:15but he shouldn't get too over,
02:17he shouldn't overcommit too much already.
02:19And he's going with the same shot over and over.
02:21I believe since he hurt the guy to the body,
02:23he should probably bring it back to the head.
02:25His attack didn't go back down to the body.
02:26He went with the same shot three times in a row.
02:34Under a minute to go here in round one schedule for four.
02:38Abel Sanchez in the corner for Omar Heichel.
02:41Another visual that you see that makes you think this guy could be the real deal,
02:46and he's got Kalia Lea bouncing around a little bit.
02:49Yes, and when you're up there in big beer training with Abel Sanchez,
02:52one thing you're going to get is great sparring.
02:54You're going to get drilled.
02:55And one thing about Abel is he's going to touch your character spiritually
02:58as well as physically.
02:59He's a great coach.
03:00And I like what Omar is doing here.
03:02No matter what, he's putting the pressure.
03:03He continues to push the opponent back.
03:05But he should switch up his attack.
03:06He keep going with the long left uppercut to the body
03:08because he landed it one time.
03:10But I think he should switch it up and start coming up with the right hook to the head.
03:14He kind of landed it right there.
03:15He didn't do that more.
03:16Yeah, and he's putting so much behind it,
03:18it gives Kalia Lea a little more time to react to it.
03:24So the first professional round at Omar Heichel's career is in the books.
03:38Watch the back of the head.
03:40Watch the back of his head, okay?
03:41Don't be hitting him back here.
03:42Okay, now.
03:43If you hit him with a wall here,
03:44now change it up here.
03:46Okay, now throw it up on top.
03:47Back of his head.
03:53Watch your machine.
03:56You understand?
03:57Can't hold me the back of the head.
03:58Good.
03:58Don't hit him with the back of the head.
03:59When he turns around, use the other hand.
04:01Okay?
04:02Deep breath.
04:05Just deep breath.
04:07Use the other hand when he comes back to you.
04:09You understand?
04:09of his head when he comes back to you.
04:11Don't even know what the center you have said.
04:15It's a a-
04:19A-
04:206-7-8-8-9-9-9-9-9-8-9
04:39Insania.
04:41Ty, one thing I would like to see Omar do is, you know,
04:43from a southpaw standpoint, let's see what your jab is like.
04:46He's so ready to load these body shots.
04:48You can see he's decoying there with one hand.
04:50But you don't see him getting to the target with his jab.
04:52He should do that a lot more.
04:53He's not jabbing at all.
04:54He's looking for the big shot.
04:55And that's because he wants to put on a big performance.
04:57But do it behind your jab.
04:58Set it up.
04:59You know what I mean?
05:00Earn a stoppage.
05:01Earn a knockout the good way.
05:03Yeah, he's trying to land that one big shot instead of peppering him a little bit.
05:06Yeah, there's no jabs.
05:07No jabs at all.
05:08Malik, what do you remember about your professional debut back in 1975?
05:13Oh, wow.
05:13You said 1975.
05:16Actually, my pro debut was on the undercard of Lennox Lewis and David Tua.
05:21Wow.
05:21Yes.
05:22What a rush.
05:22Yes, absolutely.
05:23And I got, I believe, a second-round knockout.
05:25I hit a guy with a right uppercut, caught him coming in,
05:28and caught him with a good counter.
05:29Omar's still going with the same.
05:30It's almost like he put in place, instead of a jab, his left uppercut.
05:35Look, there he is again, the left uppercut.
05:36But all he has to do is put a jab, a few jabs in front of that same shot, and
05:41it will land.
05:41But he's just like going almighty gung-ho, just trying to get that one big shot.
05:45And he's doing that because he landed it early, and he liked the response that he'd get.
05:49There we go again.
05:49Same shot.
05:50Same shot.
05:51Now, he may get away with this with this opponent,
05:53but other guys will start seeing that you're making the same,
05:56you're doing the same patterns over and over again,
05:58and they'll capitalize off of it.
06:00Yeah, it's like in football.
06:01The team's running the same play over and over again.
06:03You're going to figure it out.
06:04Absolutely.
06:04And his opponent here, he should actually be making him pay
06:07with some counters in between that he's doing the same shot over and over.
06:11I'm really waiting for Omar to start jabbing.
06:12I want to see the jab from a southpaw standpoint.
06:16You can tell he has good attack.
06:18The attack is there.
06:19The morale is there.
06:20But the system of putting everything behind a jab is just an empty space for that.
06:24There's no jabs before none of his offense.
06:27He's probably got the mentality, look,
06:28if I can hit him with this shot one more time to the body,
06:30I think I can drop him, and I get a knockout in my pro debut.
06:33Yes, and he could do the same exact thing behind a jab.
06:35He could still get the knockout behind a jab, though,
06:37because if he was to use the jab a lot more time,
06:40it would make the other guy forget about the left uppercut.
06:43You know what I mean?
06:44But it's really only one thing he has to defend from,
06:47and that's the left uppercut.
06:48And then he gets so close with it and overcommit
06:50that he put himself in a position to be clinched.
06:53And when the guy is able to clinch him, that's not a good thing for him
06:56because that's making the fight go on a lot more longer.
06:58Same left uppercut, no jab before it.
07:01Same left uppercut, no jab before it.
07:04Now, he may—I don't want you to think what I'm saying, Ty.
07:06Like, he may get away with this with this opponent,
07:08continue to do the same patterns over and over.
07:10But as he gets better and gets more mature
07:12and continue to listen to Abel Sanchez,
07:14I'm sure they're going to clean that up
07:15and start putting the jab, you know, a lot more times before his offense.
07:19Well, if you were at Kalei Aleja's corner,
07:20what would you be telling him to do
07:21knowing that that left uppercut's coming every time?
07:23I would say start throwing your offense through the center of it.
07:26He should actually invite that left uppercut
07:28and throw his straight right hand.
07:31Nice flurry there from Heichel.
07:33Yes, he wanted to knock out bad, as you can see.
07:35Yes, that's that young lion energy right there.
07:37He wanted to put on the show.
07:38He's in Egypt.
07:39It's a great card, and he's trying to make a statement.
07:41But I believe he can make the statement behind an educated left hand—
07:44right hand, in this case, it's a southpaw.
07:48An aerial view here of the ring that was built just this week.
07:52It's incredible here, man, incredible.
07:54I love this ring.
07:55It's not too big.
07:56It's not too small.
07:57You can box in it, but you're also going to fight toe-to-toe with it as well.
08:06See, even Abel just said he knows this one's coming.
08:12You know, let's switch it up because there's no jab.
08:15There's no jab before the offense or anything like that.
08:18Even Abel is basically saying the same thing I'm saying.
08:20Like, he know that when it's coming, switch up your offense, switch up your attack.
08:24I want to see him get the jab, make the adjustments, and do it this round.
08:34Seconds out, round three.
08:38All right, Omar Haikul, Michael Kalia-Lea.
08:41Round three, scheduled for our opening fight of the night here from next to the Pyramids.
08:47Good left hand that time.
08:49And it was straight.
08:50It wasn't under that time as well.
08:53Well, to be fair, Kalia-Lea is just not doing much offensively that time.
08:57You can see Haikul just had to react to what was in front of him.
09:00And he threw a better punch as he just got caught a little bit there with the right hand.
09:02And that was with the straight shot because he keep going with that left uppercut, that long left uppercut from
09:06a southpaw saying it leaves you open for a straight right hand.
09:13There's a jab.
09:15See, he's walking straight in.
09:16He kind of got caught there, but he also caught.
09:19Good.
09:20Kalia dropped his hands and then got dropped to the canvas.
09:23And it wasn't even with the shot that he was throwing all the time.
09:26He switched it up and threw the right hook.
09:30I don't think he wants to get up, Malik.
09:31No, he's pretty much done.
09:32And that's it.
09:33Omar Haikul in his professional debut in his home country in front of the Pyramids gets a knockout.
09:40Yes, he got the knockout that he wanted.
09:42And you could tell that he wanted it from round one because he was hunting with the same shot over
09:46and over.
09:46Don't all pros want to get a knockout in their debut?
09:49Absolutely.
09:49And if they tell you they don't, they're lying, Todd.
09:54So things did change a little bit there in the third.
09:56But I think it was Kalia Lea who kind of forced the issue on Haikul.
09:59And that's when he stepped up and just kind of did what came naturally, it seemed like.
10:02Yes, but more importantly, Todd, what he did, what I really believe he did, he took Abel Sanchez's advice.
10:08When Abel Sanchez told him, he already know you're going to throw that left uppercut.
10:11Switch it up.
10:12Switch up the offense.
10:13And that right there, that stoppage came from the right hook.
10:15So the main shot that he was going with, that wasn't even the shot that got him the knockout.
10:19It was when he switched, made the adjustment, and threw the right hook, as you can see right there.
10:23And the opponent went down.
10:24And, yeah.
10:25And he's going to get better and better, especially as long as he's sticking with Abel,
10:28with them hard training camps up there in Big Fear, California.
10:31And it's going to make him a better fighter.
10:36So, you know, Pop's got to be proud of his son, as Omar Eichel improves to 1-0 with one
10:43knockout.
10:44And a reminder, later tonight, the 2025 Ring Magazine Female Fighter of the Year,
10:49Mizuki Haruda, puts her WBO World Superflyweight title on the line against Egyptian Mai Solom.
10:55If you haven't already, buy Gloria and Giza now at DAZN.com slash boxes.
11:03All right.
11:05Thomas Tribert is in the ring and is going to make it official.
11:16Ladies and gentlemen, here is the official time.
11:1855 seconds of round number three.
11:21Our referee in charge, Don Tehran, reaches the count of ten.
11:26Therefore, your winner by way of knockout and successful in his professional boxing debut,
11:35Omar Eichel!
11:41Salute to Omar Eichel, as he is now 1-0.
11:45Hey, that stat's wrong there.
11:471-0 with one knockout.
11:49The first of ten fights on the card.
11:51And, of course, the coup de grace.
11:52The first time you were there, then we will see you later.
