00:00It's now time to check in with Rochelle Forkmore in tonight's weather forecast.
00:06Thank you, Vash. Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago. Who's ready for some weather?
00:10Let's begin with tonight. Expect conditions to be fair to party cloudy, hazy and breezy at times with isolated showers.
00:18We have minimum temperatures at 25 degrees in Trinidad and a bit higher in Tobago at 26.
00:23So yesterday I told you to expect hot, hazy and breezy conditions with cloudy swells and showers and that's exactly
00:31what we got today.
00:33And tomorrow, well, it will be no different with those same moderate to high dust concentration as well.
00:39So work with those umbrellas, the face mask, your water and enjoy the rest of your day.
00:45Daytime temperatures will come in at 33 degrees in Trinidad and 32 in Tobago.
00:50And for our two favorite days of the week, we'll not disappoint.
00:55Friday will give us mostly hot, breezy conditions with some dust haze with the isolated shower.
01:01While Saturday will give us a bit more cloud cover with party cloudy skies and brief showers that could become
01:07heavy in southern areas of Trinidad.
01:10Those conditions will eventually give way to an otherwise hot, breezy and hazy day.
01:15So nothing to complain about.
01:17Now, if you love to watch the sunrise, well, in Trinidad, sunrise is at 542 and 538 in Tobago.
01:24But if you prefer the sunset, then sunset is at 624 in Trinidad and 621 in Tobago.
01:30But if you don't care about any of those things and prefer to take in a beach day instead, well,
01:36seas will be moderate with waves 2 meters to 2.5 meters in open waters
01:40and near 1 meter, occasionally choppy and sheltered areas.
01:44It's now time for your daytime.
02:01With the hurricane season just a few weeks away, do you know how to prevent and prepare for possible landslides?
02:07Well, you can do so by keeping drains and waterways clear so water does not build up in the soil.
02:14Avoid cutting or digging into steep hillsides and plant deep-rooted trees or grass to help pull the soil together.
02:22Retaining walls and proper drainage systems can also stabilize slopes and reduce erosion during heavy rainfall.
02:29Now, persons are urged to watch for warning signs like ground cracks or leaning trees and staying updated with weather
02:36alerts.
02:37Keep an emergency kit with water, food, medication, flashlights and important documents
02:42and have an evacuation plan ready in case you need to leave quickly.
02:46If heavy rain causes soil or rocks to start moving, move immediately to safer ground away from hillsides, rivers and
02:54steep slopes.
02:55Well, now you know.
02:57Well, that's all for weather tonight.
02:59Now, Sachin, tell me what's happening with the West Indies team.
03:03Rochelle, I see you already wearing your maroon and the Windy's men and women get in first gear for their
03:09home.
