00:00It's kind of like living in exile now but at the same time there was so much adrenaline rush at
00:04that point to be honest very scared on what's going to happen next that thinking about the
00:10past wasn't really a thought. At the time I didn't speak any other language I barely spoke English
00:16just a few words here and there didn't speak any Turkish didn't have any money so had to kind of
00:21figure all that out. I was lucky enough I met an Iranian gentleman in Turkey that helped me
00:26Pam and I kind of became friends and lived in Turkey for a while working under the table because
00:32I wasn't allowed to work in Turkey. My passport because it was American I was only allowed to
00:37stay in Turkey for 30 days at a time so I ended up in Brussels at one point when I
00:43was in Brussels
00:43I found out that I couldn't go back to Turkey again because the Iranian agents have figured out that I
00:49was in Turkey and they were still looking for me and so I had to stay in Brussels at least
00:55it was a
00:55safer place. I got a job as a dishwasher working under the table in in Belgium until I was I
01:02had
01:02enough money to basically buy a plane ticket and come to the U.S.
