00:00I grew up in Iran. My dad was American. My mother was Iranian. Then the Islamic
00:05Revolution happened and everything changed. I remember when during the
00:09revolution when we were going to school we had to like jump over body stuff the
00:13night before and all over the street. After my dad left, my mom got married
00:18again. I was seven years old at the time and it wasn't a very good thing for us
00:23as kids. I was for about four or five years until I was old enough that he
00:29wasn't interested anymore. So there was a lot of rage at the time
00:32inside of me growing up so I rebelled. All of that kind of made me join a lot of
00:37anti-government groups. I had to leave Iran because the
00:40government found out of all the stuff that I was doing and my
00:43note was out and if I would have gotten caught then I would probably
00:47don't be here talking to you about it. And so getting out of the country was not
00:52easy. I had to cross the border from Iran into
00:54Turkey. It took me about a week to get to the
00:57Turkish border and once I got into Turkey I
01:00basically turned myself into the Turkish authorities basically telling them that
01:04I'm American.
