00:01Spotify made some big announcements this week about some collaborations I want to tell you about.
00:07So, first of all, they're teaming up with artists for a new reserved ticket sales system
00:13that will basically set aside concert tickets for premium subscribers and huge fans of certain
00:19artists. So, here's how it works. It'll start this summer. There will be a select number of
00:25artists. We don't know who they are yet. And they'll be able to use this reserved system
00:30to identify their most dedicated fans. Okay. If you are considered one of those,
00:36the artist will put a pair of tickets aside for you. They'll notify you and you'll have a day to
00:42decide whether or not you want to buy the tickets. Wow. Spotify hasn't confirmed which artists they're
00:47working with yet or, you know, like how many or anything. Right. But that is coming, which if
00:54you're a huge fan, like the artists want you at their shows. So, it makes sense that they're able
00:58to put these tickets away for you. That's so smart. So cool. The other collaboration that Spotify is
01:04doing right now is that they teamed up with Universal Music Group to launch a new tool that allows you
01:10to create your own covers and remixes of your favorite songs from any of the participating artists
01:16and songwriters. That is so sick. That is pretty sick. Yeah. So, it's AI generated. It'll be a paid
01:24add-on for Spotify premium users. A date for this launch hasn't been given yet. And I know you might
01:30be thinking, like, why would I be talking about Spotify when we work in radio and it's a competitor?
01:36But let me just explain the difference, right? I have a Spotify account. I love to listen to my albums
01:41and my make playlists and all the things that normal people do, right? Right. But you are never
01:45going to get live and local on Spotify. Oh, my gosh. You are never going to get personality when
01:50you're just listening to that music. You're never going to find out about what's going on in the
01:54world, get the little inside track on artists and all the things. Well, Andy, it's the same thing,
02:00in my opinion, as going out and buying your favorite artist's CD. Absolutely. Like, if you want to go
02:05front to back on that album, do it. We encourage it. We encourage it. If that's your favorite artist,
02:09go for it. I'm with you. I'm a Spotify person because that's sometimes what I need in my music
02:15life. Because if we were to do that, no one would be listening to the radio. But you're right, Andy.
02:20Like, it misses that connection of people, too. I feel like when I'm listening there, sometimes I
02:26just want to know what's going on locally or know some events or, I don't know, know how to win
02:31some
02:32tickets or whatever it might be, right? Spotify does not have Andy Summers and her good looks
02:36either. Or Donnie, right? Thank you. I appreciate that. You did owe me one. So thank you for that.
02:43Wait, are you just saying that or does she actually owe you one?
02:47Usually we're both an owing of each other, I think.
02:50Oh, yeah. Probably. It goes back and forth.
02:52When you guys battle like brother and sister. Put it on my tab.
02:55Put it on my tab. We've lost track at this point.
