00:00Hello everyone, this is Pastor Michael Dion of Goodwill Independent Baptist Church.
00:04I just wanted to take a second to just talk to everyone about salvation.
00:10One of the most important things that any person can make a decision on is what they believe about salvation,
00:17the gospel, where they're going to be going.
00:19The Bible says that we must be born again, that we must trust in Jesus Christ.
00:23And I just want to take a second to explain what that is and give some verses and help us
00:28to understand that because I want to make sure that you know that you're saved and that you're on your
00:32way to heaven.
00:34All right, so I want to just take a second to say, you might be saying to yourself, Pastor Mike,
00:44I'm not saved.
00:44I have no idea what would happen to me if I were to die today.
00:49I want to know how to be saved.
00:52Or if you say, Pastor Mike, I've asked Jesus to save me, I've thought and I believed, but I'm not
00:59so sure.
00:59I might not be saved.
01:01I want to know Jesus as my Savior.
01:02Listen, if that's you, I want to talk directly to you.
01:06If you're that person, I want to talk to you for a minute.
01:10I want to share some scripture with you about what the Bible says.
01:14And I want you to know for sure that you're on your way to heaven and you know Jesus Christ
01:19as your Savior today.
01:21The Bible says for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in
01:27him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
01:31The Bible says that he loved us so much that he sent his son into the world not to condemn
01:36the world, but that the world through him might be saved.
01:41So what does that mean?
01:43That means that Jesus was the perfect, sinless sacrifice for our sins, and he did that by taking the punishment
01:49for our sins on the cross.
01:52He shed his blood and he died, and he rose again the third day.
01:57That's the gospel.
01:58That's the good news.
01:59You see, God had a plan for you and I.
02:01He had a plan to give you and I salvation.
02:04Now, I want us to look at some things.
02:07And if you ask yourself, I don't know for sure.
02:13Well, let's make sure.
02:15And I'm going to ask you now, do you know for sure if you would die today, what would happen?
02:21Would you go to heaven or would you go to hell?
02:25And I want to share just a few verses with you.
02:29First, we must understand that it starts with us.
02:32It's because of our sins.
02:33We're all sinners.
02:34Romans 3.23 say,
02:36For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
02:39We must understand, too, that the price or the consequence of sin is death.
02:46Romans 6.23 says,
02:48For the wages of sin is death, and then the good news, but the gift of God is eternal life.
02:54But, listen, third, we must understand that Jesus Christ was that sinless sacrifice for our sins,
03:00that he went to the cross, he paid that penalty for our sins, that he shed his blood in our
03:06place.
03:06Amen?
03:07The Bible says in 1 Peter 2.24,
03:09For who in his own self bear our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead
03:15to sins, should live unto righteousness, by whose stripes we are healed.
03:20In Romans 5.8 it says,
03:22But God commended his love toward us, that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
03:32God wants us to be saved.
03:35He died for us.
03:36He loves us.
03:38He shed his blood for us, and he paid that penalty for you and I.
03:42For, listen, we must understand that there is nothing that we can do for salvation,
03:47that everyone can receive the free gift of salvation through faith in Christ.
03:50Christ, Ephesians 2.8.9 says,
03:52For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves is a gift of God, not of
03:58works, lest any man should boast.
04:00Why?
04:01Because God's saying it's a gift from me.
04:03The only way that you can accept it is by receiving it, and that's it.
04:08It's a gift from God.
04:10It's not of ourselves.
04:11And he said there, lest any man should boast.
04:13Listen, we can't boast and take the credit for our salvation.
04:19Amen?
04:20Romans 10.9 says,
04:21For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
04:24Listen, that means anybody that calls on the name of the Lord, they can have salvation today.
04:29Listen, you might be thinking about the things that I just said.
04:32You might be thinking to yourself right now,
04:34Yes, that's me.
04:36How can I have salvation?
04:37What must I do to be saved?
04:39Now listen, in Acts 16.30 and 31, a man asked this very question that maybe you're pondering now.
04:46And millions of others have since, myself included.
04:49If you know the story, Paul and Silas were in jail.
04:52And it shares with us a man, the jailer.
04:55If you know that story.
04:56If not, the Bible tells us about the Philippian jailer there.
05:00And in verse 30, it says,
05:02And brought them out, talking about Paul and Silas.
05:04And this jailer said to them, and said,
05:07Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
05:10Me.
05:11In verse 31, they told them, and they said,
05:14Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.
05:18The Bible says that if we confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
05:23And shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
05:28Thou shalt be saved.
05:30Now listen, if you've never trusted in Jesus Christ as your Savior,
05:33I would tell you, don't wait till the last moment.
05:36Don't let a moment pass.
05:38You can do it now or any time.
05:39But listen, we're not guaranteed tomorrow.
05:42You don't know what could happen to you.
05:43Do it now.
05:44Do it today.
05:46That's you.
05:47Listen to me now.
05:49You might be saying, Pastor, I don't know Jesus Christ as my Savior.
05:52I believe these verses.
05:53I believe what you're telling me about Christ.
05:56I believe that I'm a sinner.
05:58I need to be saved.
05:59Listen, if that's you, I want you to think about what's being said.
06:06Think about it now.
06:11Listen.
06:14Have you been holding back for some reason?
06:18The main thing we got to understand is, are you saved?
06:26Whether you're an adult, a teenager.
06:31No matter the age, no matter the age, you can know for sure.
06:38And as I said, the Bible says, thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in
06:45thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead.
06:48Thou shalt be saved.
06:48Listen, if you know that you're not saved, what I want to talk to you about now is what you
06:54need to do.
06:56You need to open your heart and open your mind.
07:01And with your heart and your mind, you need to go to God in prayer.
07:08And now listen, it's not the prayer that saved you.
07:11It's that Jesus lived a sinless life, that he paid that price for you, that he took that sin upon
07:18himself.
07:18He shed his blood for you and that he rose again the third day.
07:21That's what you're putting your faith and trust in.
07:23You're putting your faith and trust that you know that you're a sinner and that you need a savior and
07:27that he did that for you.
07:30Now, right now, I want you to humble yourself.
07:34Close your eyes.
07:37And say something similar to what I'm going to say now.
07:41Say, dear God.
07:44I'm a sinner.
07:46I know I've done wrong.
07:48I know I sinned against you.
07:50Please forgive me of my sins.
07:52Am I wrong?
07:53I ask for your forgiveness.
07:57I believe that Jesus was the sinless sacrifice for me.
08:01I believe that he took that punishment, that he shed his blood on the cross for me.
08:09And I believe that he rose again the third day, as the Bible says, so I can have hope.
08:15And I believe that he is my savior.
08:19And I'm putting my faith and trust in what Jesus did for me.
08:24And I'll say this in closing.
08:27In Jesus' name I pray.
08:29Amen.
08:32Listen.
08:34If you opened your heart and your mind and you truly believe that you were lost and you were a
08:37sinner and that you know that you deserve hell.
08:40And you truly believe that Jesus was that sacrifice for you, that he was sinless, that he paid that blood,
08:46that he shed his blood for you.
08:48And that you believe he rose again the third day and that he is your savior.
08:52That you believed and trusted that he's going to take you to heaven.
08:56Congratulations.
08:56You're now saved.
08:59You're trusted in Christ.
09:01Now the Bible tells us that you'll never lose it.
09:04And that God is here to help you through it.
09:09Amen.
09:11Listen, if you trusted in Jesus Christ, please send me a message.
09:16Let me know.
09:17I want to rejoice with you.
09:18And listen, maybe you still have questions and that's fine.
09:21But please let me know so we can get that corrected.
09:24We want to make sure that you know 100% without a doubt that you're saved.
09:30And I think that if you prayed and you truly believe what you asked, as the Bible says, you're now
09:36saved and secure in him.
09:41Please reach out to me.
09:43Please reach out to me.
09:44God bless you.
