00:00A lot of changes came to Starfield as part of the Free Lanes update, but no change is
00:04perhaps quite as profound as the one that's happened to Starfield's New Game Plus progression
00:09system.
00:10Spoiler warning if you haven't finished it yet.
00:12When you complete the final Starfield story mission, One Giant Leap, you are presented
00:16with the option of going through the Unity.
00:18If you do this, your character will become starborn and spawn into a brand new universe.
00:23You keep all of your powers, skills, level progression, and experience, and have the
00:28opportunity to become substantially more powerful through subsequent playthroughs.
00:32This comes at the cost of all your mission progression, outposts, relationship with characters,
00:37ships, map data, and yes, all of your hard-earned weapons, outfits, and items.
00:42It's a big decision to make.
00:43The Unity was our way of doing New Game Plus, says Howard.
00:47It was us asking you this weird, deep question that I actually think got lost on a lot of
00:51people.
00:52It asks if you're just this power gamer who wants to get everything, or are you willing
00:56to leave this world behind?
00:58How do you feel about your own life choices?
01:00Would you leave all that behind and start over?
01:02Some of that pain, having to give up all your stuff, Sarah Morgan not loving you anymore,
01:07and so on, is supposed to make you feel all of that.
01:10Did you go through the Unity in Starfield?
01:12in Starfield.
