00:24dollar mountain homes I'm Chad and I'm Kelsey and we're getting married in
00:32Blue Ridge we picked this amazing wedding venue we're really excited to get
00:37married in the chapel and be able to walk out and ring that bell and next time
00:43we ring this it's going to mean something yeah well we love it here so
00:48much we've decided we want to leave Atlanta and move up to Blue Ridge full
00:52time work came first for many years so when it came time to find somebody I
00:56was just at a different point in my life I was driving through Atlanta and there
01:00was this big billboard for a matchmaking company and that just made all the sense
01:04in the world to me didn't take long to meet Kelsey and for me it was a little
01:08bit different took a couple of years off from dating to just focus on myself and I
01:13happened to be doing a work event and the matchmakers were hosting it I gave them
01:18a call and Chad was my third date I didn't get a great start I dropped out of high
01:25school I meandered around for a while working dead-end jobs until one day I
01:29said I know I'm better than this so went to college work my butt off that's how he
01:33got a start ended up with a master's degree and opened up his own business and
01:37is now able to do things like buying a million dollar mountain house for me I'm
01:42really looking for a more luxurious home I'm kind of leaning a little bit more
01:46towards that rustic style I want to know that I'm in the mountains and I want to
01:49feel that I'm in the mountains it's all about the mountain views also what's
01:53very important to us as we grow our family we want room to expand so a lot
01:57that's buildable that we can add on to as our needs change our budget is between
02:02two to three million
02:05for me part of falling in love with Blue Ridge had to do with the town and the
02:10shopping and gain to explore for me it's a change of pace a slower life hopefully
02:16a better life and we're looking forward to starting a family and raising our
02:19children in this kind of environment so I think moving to Blue Ridge is going to
02:23be a defining moment for me after coming up to Blue Ridge a few times we kept on
02:28hearing around town that Brian was the guy to work with so we went ahead and we
02:32gave him a call and we're hoping that he's gonna help us find the right house the
02:37first home showing Chad and Kelsey is just a 15 minute drive from Blue Ridge
02:40it's a true mountain home with a lot large enough for them to build on okay
02:46well here we are Wow this is a very cool house I like that view of the stone the
02:52L-shaped porch that's really nice but it's actually called chic chalet
02:58four-bedroom four bath 4200 square feet it's on 1.5 acres and they're asking 2.8
03:04now I noticed we pulled into a carport we're kind of expecting a garage yeah
03:08garages aren't necessarily standard here in this area I thought garages were
03:12standard kind of like an appliance I just didn't know that I need to put
03:16garage on my wish list we definitely have some garages we can go look at on
03:19some of the properties and there's actually space if we wanted to do an
03:23addition oh cool we could absolutely convert this to a garage all built on
03:28this great view why don't we go check out the inside now yeah let's do it here we
03:34go Chelsea I like this place wow check that out love the view look at those
03:42trees look at all the stonework love the wood elements yeah the wood ceiling
03:48looking down at my feet what are we standing on here look at these floors
03:51locally harvested it really kind of gives it that mountain aesthetic I love these
03:55floors Brian you you really got inside my mind when I said I wanted rustic I
03:59mean this is it yeah and I don't think I've ever seen anything like this view is

04:07check out the deck oh wow isn't that great I could definitely get used to that
04:12outdoor dining fireplace you know later in the afternoon when those clouds go away
04:16you'll even see longer layered mountain range so you're saying it gets

04:25kitchen I love isn't that beautiful this light picture you can have a view while
04:32you wash dishes look at this I've never seen a stack stone backsplash stone all
04:37the way to the ceiling for the hood bed you know they really bring in all those
04:40mountain elements to this property and I love that feel that we get from it you
04:45just hit the nail on the head it's a feeling you know you're in the mountains you
04:48know you're in nature yeah and I'm shocked because I'm totally a little bit
04:52more of that luxe girl but just a slight fixture but I really really like it's
04:56mountain luxury yeah right another guest suite down through here and a half bath
05:01oh check this out I love this I don't look at this very cool and then of course here
05:07is a guest suite perfect for the kiddos oh yeah I love that well I'll tell you
05:11what we might head upstairs we do have an amazing primary suite right oh my gosh look at
05:17the stone oh more stone work I love these stairs these thick treads I love this oh wow this is
05:27probably one of the biggest primary suites I've ever seen look at this oh look at
05:33that whole wood wall and then the wood ceiling and the view I mean just gets
05:38better and better that is breathtaking well I really wanted you also to see this
05:42haunt suite bathroom it is something like you've probably never seen before oh my gosh
05:54oh my gosh wow when does it end look at the stone it's everywhere in this house it has a
06:01vanity for me to get ready there's my glam moment

06:49and it looks like there's a bathroom with another bedroom and another bathroom and that's really
06:56awesome then this great living space it's very welcoming and calming feel I'm just a little nervous
07:02I feel like it's a little bit too rustic it's not really what I was looking for it's just so

07:07wooden stone it's unique for sure I was just picturing more of a modern aesthetic I don't know

07:47downtown Blue Ridge they did like the first home but I know Kelsey wants something a little more

07:59the garage yeah it's pretty spectacular three-car garage wow my gosh yeah you can see the view right
08:04through the front door this is why we're all here for these big mountain views it's unbelievable this is
08:09Skyline Retreat four bedroom three and a half bath it's 5,000 square feet it's on 1.6 acres and

08:15asking 3.5 I know your initial budget was 3 million I wanted to show this one though anyway just

08:20I knew you're gonna like the garage I think you're really gonna love these interiors okay and of course
08:24it's got huge mountain views well let's go inside this is amazing oh wow oh yeah look at that view
08:34this is absolutely stunning I love this open concept big tall windows definitely you look out
08:41the windows it takes your breath away and then you start to look around it takes your breath away again
08:45this is so beautiful yeah this is one of a kind here in Blue Ridge it's so light and airy

08:51there looks like there's plenty of outdoor living space out there for sure which I love let's go check
08:55that out the pass-through fireplace outdoor kitchen I mean this is a whole house outside you can get the
09:06whole family around this table I love that I don't think you could do outdoor living better than this
09:11yeah it would be tough if you can I haven't seen it I mean this leads right to the kitchen

09:17that makes entertaining really easy everything we need in the kitchen that backsplash the tile work
09:25I mean it looks just so intricate so much detail plenty of storage these lights are so cool and
09:32you've got to have a view at your sink and I love how this opens up to the outside so

09:37just passing in and out this kind of feels like our home in Atlanta but I do love it do

11:18bedroom oh geez this place is just huge this is such a great guest room this is such a great

11:27people to come and hang out oh my gosh think football games movies there's something for
11:34everyone yeah you know what I'm starting to think it feels an awful lot like what we're leaving
11:39I know it's a lot to think about I think you've seen just how varied properties up here can be

12:00has kind of got me thinking it's a little bit too much like what we have in Atlanta okay the

12:07the skyline retreat is just unreal there's something to do on every level of this house you definitely see
12:13us entertaining and having fun outside the indoor outdoor living is top 10. Chad and Kelsey really
12:21did like Skyline Ridge but their move to the mountains is more than just changing their surroundings
12:26it's leaving their life behind in Atlanta and I can relate the final house I'm showing them will
12:31definitely give them the full mountain experience oh geez look at this road yeah this is um I think you'd
12:38call this off the beaten path right well let's go up and see it yeah no it's always keep an
12:43open
12:43mom yeah so surely this is the top oh geez hey there that was quite a drive yeah it's actually
12:50a little
12:51different from the other two we looked at where it's like flat to get the view you absolutely have
12:55to go up the mountain on this one to get the view well it makes sense now that we see
12:59it it can be
12:59foggy when you're this far up in the mountain but the sun will burn it off soon okay so this

13:05Ridge it's a four bedroom four and a half bath it's uh 4200 square feet just over four acres and
13:11they're asking 2.65 there is no garage currently but there is room to build one love these rock steps
13:18by the way nice gorgeous yep feels like the mountains like the stonework and this uh pivot door oh this
13:25front door so coming up the road this is what you get oh my goodness
13:35great open floor plan yeah love that love this kitchen it has a his and hers island
13:41oh gosh the backsplash on this one and then it being different over there and i just love that
13:47eight burner range really nice you know it actually looks like the fog is lifting
13:54outdoor kitchen big views when i said outdoor kitchen it's more like outdoor grilling station but
13:59but perfect for sinks this is incredible this is a long-range layered mountain view great space for
14:08outdoor entertaining of course love this table love this fire pit area perfect place to sit around at
14:14night imagine our family and friends out here what a view i've never seen anything like it yeah i know
14:18so much more than i was thinking and you had mentioned about wanting to expand we have room down there
14:24yeah it looks a little steep so if we did build it it'd be quite a challenge getting to it

14:28obviously the view on the outside is amazing but the inside is pretty incredible as well yeah i want
14:33to see what i'm going to wake up to well i know you're getting married soon so i think what

14:57i could definitely live in this yeah this is the exact aesthetic we're looking for looks really good
15:01and this beautiful primary ensuite oh my goodness oh look at that shower love the colors love the tones
15:10yeah the tile i mean you could tell just so much thought went into this well there is another primary
15:15bedroom that's upstairs why don't you guys go check that out i'm going to run downstairs get
15:20lights turned on for you and then we can meet up down there absolutely love the aesthetics of this
15:24house the fixtures the woodwork the floors i loved it all it left your brain and went into mine yeah

16:18there's no tub in here but that shower is huge you could literally put them all in there at one

16:41another big family great room with the fireplace and the primary bedroom down here as well so
16:48lots of space to grow into and another outdoor lounging space it's incredible yeah it really is it's
16:54like having three different homes because each level offers something unique and different
16:58so i think we're at that moment where it's almost decision time right yeah it's yourself that's it

17:28has shown us three amazing homes you ready to go through everything yeah the first house we looked
17:34at was the chic chalet price 2.8 million yeah i really like the house we've talked about expanding
17:40that add another structure if we want to and the lot was perfect for that i really like the stonework
17:45and
17:45those floors were so unique i didn't see that in any of the other houses we looked at and that
17:50shower
17:51it feels like you're showering outside and what guy doesn't want that or girl or girl and then being
17:56out on that deck seeing that view that felt really special too downsides is it has a carport instead of
18:02a garage so that's another guy thing us guys like garages yeah it wasn't necessarily what i thought
18:08i wanted going into it but there was just something really special about it very unique but i'm still
18:14nervous it might be too rustic so the next house we looked at was the skyline retreat biggest that
18:20we've looked at and the listing price for that one is 3.5 million i liked that one yeah i
18:26mean there's
18:26not much to not like about that house the interior design of the house i mean it was absolutely stunning
18:32it was just so perfect and then the way that it's set up for entertaining i can just really see
18:37us having
18:38lots of family and friends there it had the garage definitely check that box views were spectacular my thing is
18:44it is it too perfect is it too much like what we already have in atlanta i'm not sure it
18:50could be
18:51but it's it's a stunner yeah it is it is really beautiful well here's the last house sunset ridge
18:572.65 million so it is the least expensive of those that we've looked at i mean this view is
19:03just unreal
19:04this is kind of like one of those things you don't even want to look on the inside of the
19:07house you just
19:07want to stay right here this view can't be beat i mean if you want a mountain view this is
19:11it
19:12but this property doesn't have a garage on the inside of this house it was really really nice
19:19this house is rustic but it also has a very luxe feel and then having the multiple primary bedrooms
19:25that seemed like that was going to be really good for entertaining also you had a good call out earlier
19:31about the tub we're going to have children a tub would be nice to have that's true i don't want
19:35to
19:35necessarily say that those things would rule it out because i do love this maybe when we add the
19:41addition we add the tub then but remember an addition would be costly because of this steep
19:46slope so i think we have a decision that we've already pretty much made i think i know which one

20:22element where i can walk around here and i know i'm in a mountain town even though this wasn't the

20:27i originally pictured i've become a big fan of the rustic feel all the stonework the woodwork and the
20:33floors it feels so luxe you didn't necessarily have to have the same modern feel that we had in
20:38atlanta this is very luxurious in and of itself and so i love it i feel at home here and
20:45i think
20:46our growing family will really enjoy it as well and then we did actually just get married yesterday
20:52here in blue ridge and it was absolutely amazing and we got to enjoy the beautiful mountain weather
20:59being outside and everything it had to offer and so we've just fallen in love with blue ridge
