Today’s work, [Hyperreal Mirage], was written based on the provocative theories of the modern thinker Jean Baudrillard: "The Desert of the Real" and "Simulacra." Baudrillard described contemporary society as a world of "Hyperreality"—a simulation more real than reality itself—and warned that what remains at the end of these glittering signs is nothing but the "Desert of the Real," where all meaning is erased.
Set against a desert where all civilization and meaning have returned to sand, this project captures the Muse appearing in her most elegant dress and heels upon this void. While the concrete house and ancient pillars in the middle of the desert imply that both past and present civilizations eventually turn to dust, the Muse is no castaway lost in the dunes. Instead, she exists as the most sophisticated Mirage, ruling over an absolute horizon where the distinction between the real and the fake has vanished.
The line "Welcome to the desert of the real" pierces through the desolation hidden behind virtual abundance, while the declaration "Simulacra—I’m the only savior this desert will ever face" proclaims a new order in a world where the simulation has replaced the actual.
In this splendid emptiness where the fake shines more beautifully than the real, I invite you to follow the gaze of the designer who has become the overwhelming mirage itself, rather than questioning what is real. On this horizon of the absolute desert, I hope you enjoy a time of pleasant contemplation on the essence of existence.
