00:00What should Detroit do? You know, we haven't been able to talk since that Pistons season came to a close.
00:06There was a lot of chatter around Jalen Duren and his lackluster postseason.
00:14Is there a move you want to see from Detroit? Do you think patience is the name of the game
00:19here with a really young roster?
00:21I think it's a successful season, but just because it's a successful season, I don't think it necessarily means there
00:28won't be some big changes coming.
00:30Yeah, I mean, listen, I think Jalen Duren cost himself a good amount of money with his postseason performance.
00:38I would want patience. They're still relatively young.
00:45I think, I'm going to say this, someone needs to take the Thompson twins and lock them in a gym
00:52and say, we're shooting a thousand jump shots a day.
00:54I mean, there's a difference between leaving Josh Hart open and leaving Asura Thompson open.
00:58And there's a big difference. And if I think like for that team to take that next level, if Asura
01:05could be a, I'm not saying a 40% three-point shooter.
01:10If he could be a 33, 34% three-point shooter to someone where you have to like respect it,
01:18that he could put in and get on a heater.
01:20I think that's something of note. And I'm going to say this, Tobias Harris, bye Felicia.
01:27We got to get something better at that power forward spot. And Kevin, I'm going to say something that no
01:35one else is going to say. And I'm that damn crazy.
01:40What happens if LeBron went to the Pistons as a four? And just hear me out. He's got, they need,
01:49they definitely need an adult in the room.
01:51They need someone that can facilitate and someone that can lead this group. They need a better four option.
01:58They need an adult in the room. And they need a Swart Thompson to be better in regards to developing
02:05his outside shot.
02:07Yeah, look, I think LeBron to Detroit is unlikely just because if he's going to make that type of move,
02:17I just think Cleveland and the Knicks are far ahead in that race.
02:21But the fit, right? I think they should be calling on Kevin Durant. I do.
02:30I don't think you're really supposed to feel like you can win in this league and be like, nah, but
02:34we'll just do it down the road. Right?
02:36Like you can take a year to see what you have, which is incredibly, I think what San Antonio is
02:41doing this year.
02:42And it turns out like they probably feel they have enough and that's totally fine.
02:46But if you're the Detroit Pistons, you can't possibly think you have enough.
02:52They're linked to Kyrie Irving, which I get, right?
02:59And you probably think bringing in a guy like Kyrie can help maybe even unlock some of the Jalen Durant
03:05stuff a little bit more.
03:06I'd be very careful with that Jalen Durant contract, though.
03:09Because unless you are paying a transcendent big, it's probably not something you're going to be over the moon about.
03:19But I think this team should be pushing towards getting another guy because Jalen Durant is very clearly not good
03:29enough to be a number two.
03:30And that is not an overreaction to one postseason.
03:33You have to give me one game and then we can have a conversation.
03:41I talked with, you know, someone about Jalen Johnson not too long ago.
03:47And I was really disappointed in Jalen Johnson against the Knicks.
03:51It's his first playoff series in the position that he is in.
03:55But I need a game, Jalen.
03:57You had six chances to give me a game, right?
04:01Can I see 29?
04:03Can I see the triple-double?
04:04Can I see the 14-rebound game?
04:06I saw none of it.
04:07Topped out at 10 rebounds.
04:09Topped out at 8 assists.
04:10Topped out at 24 points.
04:12I need to see it one time to know it's there, right?
04:16And now, okay, Jalen Johnson, I don't think you're going to be my number one.
04:20I got to figure something out here this offseason.
04:22If I'm Atlanta, I want to hit another level.
04:25That's this league, okay?
04:27And that's where I land now for the Detroit Pistons.
04:31Cade Cunningham's your number one.
04:32We all know it.
04:33We see it in spades.
04:34Jalen Durant's not number two.
04:36You want to be the number three, Jalen Durant?
04:38That's fine.
04:39That's fine.
04:40You got to get a number two.
04:41The other question that still looms is Giannis Antetokounmpo.
04:46And, man, I saw a quote yesterday from the Boston guy who said he thinks that Giannis wants to be
04:52a Celtic,
04:53but the Celtics don't want him.
04:56Yeah, all right.
04:58That's my take on that one.
05:00Yeah, all right.
05:01That makes no sense.
05:05I mean, that makes, hey, you know what makes no sense of that?
05:10Following Giannis, following the Celtics, you know what wouldn't line up?
05:14That.
05:15I do think the Giannis sweepstakes are very confusing because I kind of can't tell if he's unbelievably valuable to
05:24try and stop Wendy or if Giannis is a bit of a headache and an injury risk.
05:31But time will tell.
