00:00In Lebanon, Hezbollah issued on Thursday a statement which affirms that the sanctions issued by the U.S. Departments of
00:06State and Treasury against Lebanese members of the parliament elected by the people, officers in the Lebanese army, and general
00:13security and officials in Hezbollah and the Amal movement constitute an attempt to intimidate the free Lebanese people in order
00:21to reinforce the Zionist aggression against the country.
00:24In this regard, the Hezbollah leadership stated, these sanctions are a source of pride for those against whom they are
00:31directed and further confirmation that our decision was the right one.
00:35Their effects will have no practical impact on our decisions or on the ongoing work of our brothers and officials
00:42in the service of their people and in the defense of their interests and sovereignty.
00:47It continues, as for the decision to sanction Lebanese officials on the eve of the meetings at the Pentagon, this
00:53is a blatant attempt to intimidate our official security institutions and subject the state to the conditions of U.S.
01:00hegemony.
01:00To conclude, the statement added, the Lebanese authorities must defend their constitutional security and military institutions to preserve the national
01:08sovereignty and dignity of Lebanon and the Lebanese people.
