Lebanon: Hezbollah Movement authorities confirm death of its leader Hassan Nasrallah

On Saturday, authorities of the Lebanese Resistance Movement Hezbollah confirmed the death of its leader Hassan Nasrallah. Israel had previously bombed the movement's headquarters in Beirut.

01:20Hezbollah confirmed Nasrallah's death later on Saturday and pledged to keep up the fight

01:25against Israel in support of Gaza and Palestine and in defense of Lebanon and its steadfast

01:31and honorable people.

01:33The statement confirmed Nasrallah was killed with another group members following the third

01:41Shurout Zionist strike on the southern suburbs of Beirut.

01:48Hezbollah's military said the country is on a high alert following his killing.

01:54Nasrallah, 64, led the Iran-backed group for more than 32 years, serving as a political

03:23While conflict with Israel largely defended Nasrallah's leadership, he was a divisive

03:31figure in Lebanon and the wider Arab world due to Hezbollah's operation in Syria and

03:40Nasrallah also had numerous domestic foes, including Sunni and Arab political forces,

03:46which Hezbollah has clashed with.

03:49In the years before his death, he was rarely seen in public due to security concerns.

03:55Israel military, in its statement announcing Nasrallah's killing, accused the leader of

04:01being responsible for the murder of many Israeli civilians and soldiers, and the planning and

04:09execution of thousands of terrorist activities.

04:15While many in Israel celebrated the killing of Nasrallah, Israel's military said it still

04:20had a way to go in the fight against Hezbollah and will continue targeting its leaders.

04:26Hezbollah still has a rocket and missiles and has the capability of shooting many of

04:32them simultaneously, said Shoshani, adding that the Iran-backed group was believed to

04:38have 10,000 rockets.

04:43In a statement released just shortly, Hezbollah announced the martyrdom of Secretary General

04:49Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah following years of sacrifice on the path of resisting against

04:54the Israeli entry.

04:56Sayyid Hassan was martyred in the unprecedented massive Israeli airstrike on a residential

05:04neighborhood in Hared Herg yesterday.
