00:00The bill that emerged today was overly partisan, you know, over-interference from the executive,
00:08and I was pleased to see our Republican colleagues standing strong with us for the independence of this museum.
00:13Can you talk about the two issues that were so problematic in this bill and how they got added?
00:17Yeah, absolutely. So obviously, you know, including this overly, you know, charged language about biological women being in there,
00:27subjecting, you know, women to unfair scrutiny over their sex when it has never been questioned previously, right?
00:34It has no place in this museum. Let's keep the big thing the big thing, honoring the service and sacrifice
00:40of so many women in our country, right?
00:43And then also placement on the National Mall and whether or not the president, right, is going to be able
00:49to weigh in on the content of this museum.
00:52So those were some of the biggest sticking points for so many and ultimately why I think that this bill
00:58failed.
00:59A lot of people...
01:00It was like the War Powers Resolution, as far as we know, may have been canceled.
01:03They just pulled it. They just pulled it unconscionably.
01:05It is beyond time that we address this issue.
01:10Gas prices are $5. I am getting $5 a gallon in Michigan, right?
01:14And people on the West Coast are hearing that and they're planning a trip to Michigan to put it in
01:19Tupperware and take it back home with them.
01:21I am getting calls in my office about people canceling their Memorial Day plans
01:26because they literally cannot afford to drive to their cottages in Michigan and celebrate this weekend how they normally would.
01:34How about the War Powers at?
01:35Yeah. It sounded like there was a lot of chaos on the floor and then that vote got pulled.
01:38Decided not to pull it. Didn't have the votes.
01:42How concerned are you about attendance lately? Obviously, you have numbers that haven't been here in some time.
01:46We all have different things going. I've got races, but this is more important.
01:50Six riders, do they have any access to those funds? People who assaulted police?
01:57Look, January 6th is an issue that was made up in the first place.
02:01People who were convicted of assaulting people.
02:03Well, I know that.
02:03Made up?
02:04That was a staged thing from day one.
02:07What about it?
02:09When you had police officers letting people in the building, when you had people that's not being prosecuted, Ray, forget
02:16his name, there's no excuse for that.
02:17Your colleagues, though, your Republican colleagues ran for their life and barricaded themselves in their chamber.
02:21Do you think they were acting?
02:23No, there was a riot there, but it was a self-made riot by members who hate chess.
02:28It was made up, in my opinion.
02:30Guy got to catch flying.
02:32I know. I'm sad.
02:47And I'm sad.
02:47I know.
02:48You
