00:00President Donald Trump said on Thursday that the U.S. will send an additional 5,000 troops to Poland,
00:05stirring up confusion after weeks of changing statements from the administration about troop
00:09deployment in Europe. His administration had said it was reducing the American military footprint
00:14there, and confirmed about 4,000 service members were no longer being deployed to Poland.
00:18Trump's announcement for the additional troops to Poland came in a post on Truth Social Thursday,
00:23where he cited his strong ties with Polish President Karol Naroski. Trump endorsed him
00:27in elections last year. It all raises uncertainty for the European allies who have been blindsided
00:32by the changes. The Trump administration has complained about NATO members not shouldering
00:36enough of the burden of their own defense and failing to do more to support the Iran war.
00:41The new order set off a flurry of reactions from military commanders and left allies already
00:45doubtful about America's commitment to Europe's security. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio
00:50played down the issue before a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Sweden.
00:53Obviously, the United States continues to have global commitments that it needs to meet in
00:57terms of our force deployment, and that constantly requires us to reexamine where we put troops.
01:02About 80,000 U.S. troops are stationed in Europe. The Pentagon is required to keep at least 76,000
01:07troops there, unless NATO allies are consulted, and it's determined that it's within U.S.
01:12interest to withdraw them. Trump's latest post suggests that troop numbers in Europe would
01:16not dip below that amount.
01:28sensitively원이ately to Russia would not just require us ascómo to finish up.
01:29The United States who is now isolated to Asia with India to the country's
01:29have been proven that the state nations of the world is from the United States of the United States of
01:29the country,
01:29the United States of the United States of the United States of the United States of Europe has been
01:29under thousands of countries, and it's been spread out to the United States of the United States of the United
01:29States.
01:29which would not happen to gather the national security for this year.
01:30And, the message was, of чи.
