After dealing with summerlike temperatures for the beginning of the week, cooler weather will follow for the Northeast heading into Memorial Day weekend with parts of the mid-Atlantic getting rain.
Transcript
00:00After a downright summer-like start to the week, an abrupt change.
00:04Kind of an unfavorable one if you love the warmth.
00:07It is much cooler out there Thursday, Friday, and right into this Memorial Day weekend across the northeast.
00:12A lot of us seeing some lingering showers Thursday for the immediate coastline and into parts of the mid-Atlantic.
00:18We actually need the rain, but it's much cooler out there through Thursday and Friday.
00:22Temperatures dropping 20 to 30 degrees lower than we were just 24 hours earlier.
00:27Wednesday took us into the 90s, and we're back into the 60s Thursday in many areas like the big cities
00:34of I-95.
00:35New York City, 64 for your high on Thursday.
00:38We'll be in the 60s, even in D.C.
00:40Other areas to the west, Buffalo, you're stuck in the upper 50s out there.
00:44So a huge drop in temperature, certainly a reality check, and then some, and we stay cool for Friday with
00:51some rain where we need it,
00:53farther south into the mid-Atlantic states Saturday, very cool as well.
00:57In fact, there's going to be another stair-step downward from Friday to Saturday.
01:01Saturday is going to be another 8 to 15 degrees colder in many spots across the northeast,
01:07and this weekend is going to feel much more like April as opposed to the recent July-like taste of
01:13weather that we just experienced.
01:15We'll see you next time.
