00:10I would have come out sooner, but I had to call my opponent and concede, and it took a while

00:38I would have come out sooner, but I had to call my opponent and concede, and it took a while
00:44to find Ed Galrine in Tel Aviv.
00:55I did get the call-through, though. I have called and conceded the race.
01:00We've been honorable the whole time, and we're going to stay that way.
01:08You know, welcome to the most expensive congressional primary ever in the 250-year history of this country.
01:16It's not just the most expensive. This thing went on longer than Vietnam.
01:22It started nine months ago, and they didn't even have a candidate, and they decided they wanted to take me
01:28out.
01:29I want to start by thanking the volunteers who have put so much effort into this.
01:35Some of you came from all across the country. Some of you are homegrown.
01:39Well, I love all of you.
01:50All right. Hold on.
02:05All right. I see how this is going to work. I'm going to have to not quit talking, or you'll
02:11start doing it.
02:13I want to thank my staff, too. Some of my staff have been with me from the very first race
02:19in 2012,
02:20and they have done so much.
02:23You know, we've never had, contrary to all the BS you've heard,
02:27we've never had a single ethics complaint filed against me or my staff in 14 years.
02:40I want to thank the donors. Now, listen, I'd name them all, but there's 50,000 donors, okay?
02:53We didn't lose this race because we didn't have enough money.
02:58You know, it is the most expensive race ever. I think when they add it up, right now they can
03:04count $35 million.
03:05I think when they add it up, it's going to be a lot more than that, because on our side,
03:09we know we spent more than $15 million.
03:12And we were able to go toe-to-toe.
03:15There was never a week that we got outspent more than two-to-one in this entire race once it
03:20got underway.
03:21And that's also, it wasn't just the grassroots donors.
03:26We had a long time, one of my longest friends, he went through a rough spell, and I never left
03:35him.
03:35I always supported him.
03:37And he actually started the super PAC, the one that nobody knows who runs it, Cliff Maloney.
03:43If you're around, would you come up here?
03:48Maybe I can get him out here to take some credit.
03:53If he's in the crowd, just pick him up and surf him over here.
04:00Cliff! Cliff! Cliff! Cliff! Cliff! Cliff! Cliff! Cliff! Cliff! Cliff! Cliff! Cliff!
04:07I see, by the way, I see one of my online influencer heroes, Bobby Sauce, over here.
04:20There were a lot of surreal moments in this race, and frankly, in being in Congress.
04:25But being in a side-by-side, racing through the woods with Bobby Sauce was definitely on my,
04:30it wasn't even on my bucket list.
04:32It was amazing.
04:36So, and getting to that point, I want to thank the influencers who came all this way
04:40and produced all the videos and got out the young vote.
04:50I want to thank my family.
04:52That's who we have arrayed back here.
04:54My grandbabies, all three of them.
05:03She's clapping, too.
05:06It's a little bit overwhelming for them, but they are what recharges my batteries
05:11when I come back from Washington, D.C., these grandbabies.
05:15And that's what we're fighting for, really, is the next generation and the next generation
05:20after that.
05:28But I have to especially thank my wife, Carolyn.
05:39Her parents, her parents knew what they were doing when they named her.
05:43Her middle name is Grace.
05:46And, but she's a fighter.
05:49I mean, she's been tweeted at twice by the chief executive of the most powerful country
05:54in the world.
05:55She blames me for that because I didn't invite him to the wedding.
06:01But also, she can't, she voted this morning and she came out and she said, well, that was
06:06a wild experience.
06:07That was great.
06:08I never imagined that would happen.
06:09And I said, what happened?
06:11She said, I got to vote for my husband and my favorite congressman.
06:15I said, that's practically a thropple.
06:27In all seriousness, walking out here and seeing all of you has really energized me.
06:34And it has all along.
06:35But why, why am I hopeful right now?
06:38Because if you looked at the cross tab in the polling, and I'm sure if we had exit polling,
06:43it would show the same thing.
06:45The, we have the younger demographic.
06:55USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA.
07:07You are, you are patriots.
07:10And you will inherit this country.
07:12And you will make it better.
07:14And I am hopeful because of that.
07:20We, we accidentally, I think, I accidentally, I meant, didn't mean to do this.
07:26It started out as an election and it turned into a movement.
07:29We.
07:46I mean, I think, I think.
07:48I think people, if you're not, if you're not tired of politics, if you're not jaded, if you're not cynical,
07:54and so many people are, you know, the people that, you know, want somebody that'll go along to get along.
08:00I've never heard of that strategy, but that seems to be what the voters want, that's what's been promised to
08:06them, but not the young voters.
08:07I mean, we stirred up something.
08:10I mean, there is a yearning in this country for somebody who will vote for principles over party.
08:26You all, you all, you all don't like bullies and you don't tolerate them.
08:30And I love you for it.
08:32You all, you all, they couldn't.
08:37They couldn't.
08:39Listen.
08:48F.C., F.C., F.C., F.C., F.C., F.C., F.C.
08:56If I had known this speech was going to be this fun to give, I would have come out 15
09:02minutes sooner.
09:06Look, for 14 years, those SOBs in Washington tried to buy my vote.
09:13They couldn't buy it.
09:20Why did the race get so expensive?
09:24Because they decided to buy the seat.
09:28And it got real expensive for them.
09:34Look, they used a lot of dirty tricks, but we stayed the course.
09:38We did not.
09:39We didn't bend a knee.
09:41We didn't throw a foul ball.
09:44We didn't do any of those things.
09:46We didn't kneecap anybody.
09:47We had lots of opportunities to try a lot of stuff like that.
09:52And we never did it.
09:53We ran a clean race.
10:01And there's, by the way, after 18 months of blacking, of a blackout, of not letting me on Fox, they
10:09finally let me on Fox today, four hours into the election.
10:12Let me talk to you guys.
10:21And what's right?
