Two long-time friends. 30 days. 600 kilometers through the Scottish Highlands. Sounds like a heartfelt “let’s reconnect” idea until you meet Chris, who keeps dragging his real life along in his head. Work. Home. The next thing he’s supposed to do. Meanwhile, Lluis is on a mission to finish the West Highland Way and push through the Cape Wrath Trail, no matter what it costs emotionally.

The movie doesn’t sell this as a cozy friendship reunion. It’s more like watching two people use the same backpack for completely different reasons. When the landscape gets harsh, their priorities get clearer. One wants the path as escape. The other wants it as purpose.

It’s quietly stubborn, sometimes dryly funny, and honestly a little uncomfortable. Because by day 30, “nature time” either fixes you or just shows you what was already broken.

Zwei alte Freunde, 600 Kilometer schottische Highlands und die ziemlich unbequeme Frage: Was ist noch übrig von der Freundschaft, wenn der Alltag keinen Zugriff hat? Lluis und Chris nehmen sich 30 Tage am Stück. Der Plan klingt nach „wir drehen mal wieder durch und reden dann über Gefühle“. Nur macht Chris das leider nie richtig. Er bleibt im Kopf bei Arbeit, Zuhause und dem nächsten Termin. Lluis hingegen will einfach durchziehen. Schritt für Schritt entlang vom West Highland Way und dem Cape Wrath Trail. Kein großes Pathos, eher ein stilles Duell: Durchhalten gegen Abschweifen.

Das Ganze ist keine romantische Landschaftspoesie. Es ist ein Test. Wer hier nach 10 Kilometern noch reden will, muss auch damit klarkommen, wenn die Antworten ausbleiben.
