Abby isn’t on some fun wilderness retreat. She’s desperate, guilty, and trying to fix a life problem that has nothing to do with surviving the mountains of Georgia. Then her helicopter goes down, and suddenly she’s stuck in the harshest kind of quiet.

The only voice she gets comes through the radio. John. Mysterious, calm, and weirdly helpful, like someone rehearsed this rescue. Abby follows the instructions, fights the cold and the terrain, and keeps thinking she’s in control. Spoiler: she isn’t. The longer John guides her, the more Abby’s sense of what’s real starts to crack.

By the time she hits the final point, it’s not just a “get out alive” situation. It’s a forced choice, the kind that makes you realize the wilderness might be the easy part.

Abby ist nicht „abenteuerlustig“, Abby ist am Ende. Und dann kommt ein Helikoptercrash in den Bergen Georgiens dazu. Sie versucht, irgendwie durchzukommen. Allein wäre das schlimm genug. Aber irgendwer funkt ihr „John“ zu. Keine direkte Hilfe, eher diese Art, die nach Plan klingt, nur dass der Plan nicht zu ihr passt.

Während Abby in der Wildnis friert, navigiert und ums nackte Überleben kämpft, rutscht ihr Realitätssinn weg. Erst sind es kleine Zweifel, dann wird daraus ein Gefühl, dass sie gerade durch ein Rätsel gesteuert wird. Am Ende steht sie vor einer Entscheidung, die so „unmöglich“ ist, dass man sich fragt, ob Überleben hier überhaupt das Ziel war. Ja, das Ding ist Spannung mit Schräglage.
