00:00Air New Zealand is about to launch a world-first, bunk beds in economy class. Let's have a look.
00:07In December this year, New Zealand's national carrier will make history.
00:11It will become the first airline in the world to launch bunk beds in economy class.
00:17The airline's Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner will be fitted with SkyNest, which will feature six flatbeds.
00:25The aircraft will operate on flights between Auckland and New York, which are about 17 hours long.
00:33Passengers booking economy and premium economy seats on the flight have the option to book a bunk,
00:39which costs $495 per person on top of the seat fare, and gives them access to the flatbed for four
00:48hours during the flight.
00:50I have tried the top, the middle, and the bottom bunk. Here's my verdict.
00:57These bunk beds may look small, but they are surprisingly spacious once you are actually lying on your back.
01:06This bunk on top is the easiest one to get into, feels the most spacious, and has to be the
01:13most favourite of mine.
01:28This is a bit snug, a little hard to get into, and I'm a little claustrophobic, so I'm not sure
01:33how I'm going to go here,
01:34but it's still pretty cool for economy class.
01:37Would you sign up for Air New Zealand's bunk beds? And if so, which one would you choose?
