00:00I've just boarded the Seaborn Encore in Asia and I'm asking the question, is two weeks too long to be
00:08on a cruise ship?
00:09Come with me while I find out.
00:11As we float into Ha Long Bay in Vietnam at dawn, it's also a new dawn for me as a
00:17solo cruiser.
00:19A special welcome awaits us at the dock.
00:24Then, it's time for a kayak on the tranquil waters in Ha Long Bay.
00:28The service is a highlight on the ship and sometimes it includes a little bit of magic and the cocktails
00:35are, oh, epic.
00:38I quickly get used to solo dinners, like the beautiful meal for one at Solis.
00:44I learn I will never go hungry on this cruise. Chocolate even turns up when I least expect it.
00:50Ooh, it's like a big chocolate plate.
00:55Back on land, the excellent iced coffee at Hoi An in Vietnam deserves a special mention.
01:02As do the restaurants making banh mi and pho soup, some of the nicest I've tried.
01:08It doesn't take long for me to get into the swing of the ship's constant pool parties.
01:22And the excellent dessert buffets.
01:26But it's the culture at the ports that will stay with me the most, like the throng of motorbikes in
01:32Ho Chi Minh City,
01:34trying durian for the first time at the Ben Tan Market in Saigon,
01:39and then riding through mangroves at Sihanoukville in Cambodia,
01:43and watching traditional Cambodian folk dances on the ship afterwards.
01:49And who could forget our decadent day at Koh Kood, a private island in Thailand?
01:54We are drinking champagne and eating caviar in the surf.
02:01Some of the staff are just going to get me a glass of champagne,
02:04and I've had some caviar served from the surfboard over there,
02:08and it's amazing. What a vibe.
02:10Two weeks just, oh, flew by.
02:13Bye.
02:14Bye.
02:15Bye.
02:16Bye.
02:18Bye.
