00:00Spurs got numbers, Holger now behind the plate, 5 on 4, Webby's going to pull a deep 3.
00:08Oh my goodness, a logo shot, 28 footer, Tyson at 108.
00:17I about woke up the whole house on that one, I promise you, I about woke up the whole house.
00:23He came down, and you know, it was, you ever been in a car accident, and it just seems to
00:33be slow?
00:33Slows down, yeah.
00:35Like, I could see it developing, and I could see like, oh, he's not going to put this on the
00:43ground, or he's not passing it.
00:45He, like, he, as soon as, you could see it coming, and you could see he was loading up.
00:51Now, nobody's getting a contest on his big ass anyway, but it don't matter, but you could see him loading
00:55up.
00:55I said, oh, Lord, he's going up with this.
00:58Shoot the job.
00:58Like, I saw it, and looked down, I saw the time, I said, okay, he's going up with this, and
01:02he just, I mean, stuck it.
01:05I mean, I just, I just said, my goodness.
01:09I mean, you talk about having a night.
01:11I think there's a lot to go to this game, Clint, a lot with the game, but kind of to
01:18what they were talking about earlier,
01:19do you think last night was a moment where, like, this thing, I don't even know if it was passed,
01:27but just got taken away where, oh, we've been trying to figure out who can just let LeBron go sit
01:35down
01:36and be the next face of the league.
01:39Did that happen last night?
01:40Did that, or?
01:41If you didn't know, you know now.
01:43I'm trying not to overreact to this, but, like, that was on NBC, everybody watching,
01:49and I think a lot of people are almost approaching this like this is the finals.
01:54I mean, this feels, this has a real Seahawks-Rams feel to it.
01:57Yeah.
01:57Where the winner is, but did this happen?
02:00Did we just, I know about 10 years ago, Colin Cowherd told LeBron he can go sit down
02:08because, what's my man, Ben Simmons, he's got it.
02:10He's got to take care of him.
02:12That's one of the worst things.
02:14Yeah.
02:15Hey, Tyler, you got it.
02:16Have you seen him do, have you seen Colin do that?
02:19Oh, yeah, I remember that.
02:20Oh, boy.
02:21I mean, he's so confident with it.
02:23Scalding cold tape.
02:24He said, hey, bro, hey, bro, LeBron, we're good here.
02:29You can sit down.
02:30We're good here.
02:31We're good here.
02:32Did we see that happen with Wimby?
02:34Did Wimby just take over this thing, or we get a little, I'm going to get a little
02:38careful.
02:38Well, I mean, look, I think it may be a tad bit premature.
02:42It was game one of the Western Conference Finals, but I think you're on to something.
02:46To me, look, there's clearly the opportunity there.
02:49As you've mentioned this multiple times, SGA's not necessarily that guy.
02:54You look at Anthony Edwards, he's not necessarily that guy.
02:58You know, all the old heads are falling by the wayside and not the face anymore.
03:03There's clearly an opportunity there and clearly a void there, and he's doing things in a way
03:08and seems like the way that he moves, Ron, he wants it, and he damn sure can handle it.
03:15Yep.
03:15I mean, it looks like he's the real deal and could potentially be that guy.
03:20Now, I think he's got to continue playing well in this series, obviously.
03:23I don't know that he's arrived there with this year of being healthy in the dominant play.
03:28I don't know if he's arrived there yet, but he's damn sure next in line.
03:33It's just, it's like the moment.
03:36It was such a big, like, moment in that game, 40-plus, 24 rebounds.
03:41That last block shot that he got towards the end of the game where, I mean, Williams went up.
03:45He just absolutely engulfed it.
03:47Yep.
03:47Like, and then, but all kind of culminated to the way he's been talking.
03:52Like, he's been talking, like, if you remember, all-star game.
03:56He, like, almost before the game forced everybody.
03:59Anthony Edwards, another guy who we've been saying is vying for the face of the league.
04:04He said, yeah, man, Wimby kind of set the tone, and he started talking about how hard he was going
04:08to play.
04:08And I think we all, all of that to a point where he just said to hell with it and
04:13just tried to kill Nas Reed in the middle of the floor last week with an elbow.
04:17All of that, and then to that moment against SGA and to have the shot, the three to go over
04:22the top and just, well, I don't know, boy.
04:25That was, that was, that was a moment.
04:29That was, that was a moment.
04:30It was a huge moment.
04:32There's no doubt about that.
04:33I was locked in.
04:34I mean, to me, the, the, the beauty of it and kind of the arrival of it for me is
04:41when I, when I tuned in, it was about nine minutes in the fourth and the Spurs had, had, are
04:49within, within nine minutes.
04:51And then they got into six or so in the Spurs, I think it actually stretched it out to seven,
04:54seven or eight, maybe.
04:57And then I'm sitting there watching.
04:58I'm like, yep, Ron said it.
05:00They, OKC's going to sit there and they're going, they're going to dabble around.
05:02And all of a sudden they're going to make that run and you're not going to be able to handle
05:05it.
05:06The Thunder made set, of course, over two overtimes and the end of the game made several runs at the
05:11Spurs and the Spurs look, they took the lead a couple of times.
05:15Yes.
05:16The Spurs had the opportunity to throw the towel in and Wimby and company because the others were great too.
05:22I don't want to minimize them, but, but they, they were not going to let it happen.
05:26I think that in a, in a nutshell, the last five minutes of the game, then obviously both over OTs
05:31that were, that, that, you know, were must-see TV.
05:35To me, the, the moment was multiple times could have been snatched from them.
05:39And they said, no, no, you're not, you're not snatching it from us.
05:41That was big.
05:43Huge.
05:43Those are highlights, man.
05:45And that electric just period game that we saw, especially in the second half and into the double overtime.
05:51Those are highlights we're going to see the rest of our adult lives.
05:54Like that game was so, it was an instant classic.
05:57Put it on ESPN Classic tomorrow, I'd watch it again.
06:00Well, it was one of those moments, right, fellas, where if you're on any kind of social, it was kind
06:05of driving you there.
06:06If you're on social that, like, you could, you could see like.
06:09The Stros were on rain delay.
06:09Yeah, they were on rain delay.
06:11But across the country, it was something that you were seeing.
06:13It became one of those, you got to, you got to get there.
06:16And I don't, I really don't know, and I see my man Gus here talking about LeBron's bum ass hasn't
06:22been the face of the league for years now.
06:23Who has been?
06:26He seems to always find himself in the, in the wink, wink, primetime game on Christmas Day.
06:32He seems to, no matter where he is, no matter where he is.
06:36No, he has still been the face of the league.
06:38Somebody needs to take it from him, but he is, he has still been the face of the league.
06:43See, this, this, this is going to bring people back and say, I'm going to watch this from the jump.
06:49Yeah.
06:50Like this, this was, plus it was a really good game of two good teams.
06:53And then I'm, I'm assuming we're probably going to see maybe, maybe the best of one of the best of
06:58OKC's.
06:58We'll probably see Shea look more like Shea because he wasn't great in this game, which then you'll see even
07:04better basketball.
07:05You'll be like, boy, these two teams are, he's going to bring casuals to the game or bring people who
07:10don't necessarily watch it back to the game.
07:13And that's face of the league stuff.
07:15I don't know that Anthony Edwards was doing that.
07:17I don't know that Brunson was doing that.
07:20I don't know that that has been happening since Steph and LeBron.
07:23I don't, I like, and, and now we had reached a point where those guys were either too old or
07:29just not even in the games where it mattered.
07:31So, so this is, this is a different thing, but I'll be honest with you.
07:34I'm, I'm, I'm a little bit more concerned about OKC than, than I thought I would.
07:38I'm not shocked that the Spurs won the game, Clint.
07:41I said I could see them stealing this one.
07:45I know Shea did not play well, but if I were to have said this out loud to myself, all
07:51right, OKC's at home.
07:54SGA is going to have 24 points, 12 rebounds.
07:57Williams is going to return from the hamstring issue, which set him out the entire second round against the Lakers.
08:03He's going to come back and get you 26 and 7.
08:06And then White Mamba, the head man, bald man.
08:10Bald Mamba, Caruso.
08:12Caruso's going to lead everybody with 31 points and go 8 from 14 from 3 himself.
08:19They're also going to force 23 turnovers.
08:22And right before the game, their second best player for the Spurs, De'Aaron Fox, is going to be scratched.
08:28And you lose that game at home?
08:31They lost that game?
08:33That, that one, that one.
08:34Caruso was trying to carry him.
08:35That was, listen, I, I know Chet, um, Chet had his entire heart taken from him.
08:40Yeah.
08:41Chet might not be the same.
08:43He might, he might, hey.
08:44He's, he's either going to come and go on, on, on, on tomorrow or he is, he may be done
08:49against him.
08:50Cause it seems to be personal with Wimby, but all of those things, man, and they didn't win the game
08:55at home.
08:56Like that is, that is to me a bit concerning.
08:59It feels like SGA has to be great every game out for them to be able to have a chance
09:07in this series.
09:07And I don't think that's had to be the case for a couple of years now.
09:10Well, we're going to, we're going to see if, you know, if the Spurs can, can go at that speed
09:20and, and exert that level of energy for a seven game series.
09:25We know Oklahoma city can, we've seen them do it to the tune of a championship.
09:28We, you know, they lost last year, last year, they lost in, in game one of the Western conference finals
09:33and then took them to seven, didn't they?
09:34Or was that in the championship?
09:36Well, they, they, they went to seven with the Pacers.
09:38There you go.
09:39They lost game one against the Pacers and then they ended up going to, we, we know that Oklahoma city
09:44can, can play in, in, in run up the minutes.
09:48Can the Spurs do what they did last night?
09:51They, they got, they got some dudes played a lot of hell.
09:53Everybody played a lot of minutes last night and double overtime, but, but the, can they play at that level
09:58long enough in a series to dethrone the champion?
10:01That that's, that's the question.
10:02Last night was awfully impressive.
10:04And yes, Wimby was, was, was, was clearly the headliner, but I mean,
10:08it's all the, they, they, they, we talked about it last week.
10:11They just have so much around him that you can lose the Aaron Fox, turn the ball over 23 times
10:17and still Dylan Harper do what he did.
10:21And, and, and, and, and Johnson off the bench, do what he did.
10:26He's the sixth man of the year and do it.
10:27Like it was, it was impressive for them to, to defensively.
10:32It's, it's like the only time you see a team that defends like OKC does.
10:37They're in passing lanes.
10:38That, that was some high level basketball.
10:41They, they, they, they are nasty on the defensive end of the floor and the offensive end of the floor.
10:45They, they, they, it looks like they have a plan, which obviously starts with going through Wimby.
10:49And if Wimby can't get positioned and they, they've got a plan to move and kick it and move it
10:53around.
10:53And, and it just, it's, it's, they never go stagnant.
10:56They got guys that, that can at least are dependable shooters at the very worst.
11:00They don't have any, they don't have any black holes that just can't shoot a soul out there on the
11:05floor.
11:06And, and they all knocked down shots last night, man.
11:08It was, if they can keep this thing rolling and knock off the champs, it's going to be big.
11:12I'm going to tell you, it's not going to be real, not going to be real popular in these parts,
11:15Tyler.
11:15But I'm, I'm not only, I'm not only rooting for the Spurs because it's a Texas team.
11:19I'm in, I'm in, I'm in with the Spurs.
11:21Man, you're rooting for the Spurs and y'all are pulling for James Harden.
11:25I'm going to throw up.
11:26The Harden thing is just I've got a heart and you don't.
11:28I mean, that's just, that's what it is.
11:30It's just a heart thing.
11:31It's not a fan thing.
11:32This, this started as just a Texas thing.
11:35No heart for turds.
11:35And then when I watch them, Tyler, I should, my eye, both of those teams last night, but
11:40my eye just loves to watch what they do.
11:42I want to apologize to Ben Thompson for that drive by without saying your name from Clint.
11:48When he talked about they just don't have a black hole out there that can't shoot.
11:51I just want to apologize.
11:52Let's be honest, he ain't the only one.
11:53I mean.
11:54I mean, he's had to be the front of the list.
11:56I mean, Tari, Tari shot about like me for about three quarters of the season this year.
12:00I feel like cozy.
12:01And he runs around like a space cadet the rest of the time, like he doesn't know what
12:04the hell he's doing.
12:04We know who you are talking about.
12:06I really, I really did.
12:07I really did not have I'm in Thompson's name on my, but, but it's fair.
12:11It is an accurate assessment.
12:12First name that came to my mind.
12:13You are fair.
12:13That is very fair.
