THREE ORPHANED OWLETS RESCUED WITH VID BY JAIANSH SHARMA Check out this emotional wildlife rescue as three orphaned great-horned owl chicks are safely saved after losing their mother in a tragic accident. Sarah Hollers, from Lubbock, Texas, captured the urgent rescue carried out by the South Plains Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. The video shows rescuers using a bucket truck provided by local landowners to carefully reach the nest after the owlets’ mother was hit by a car and did not survive. The nest, built high up on a barn wall above a hanging outdoor lamp, left the young owls stranded with nobody to care for them. While landowners initially believed there were only two owlets in the nest, rescuers discovered a third, smaller chick during the operation. The footage captures the careful moment each feathered owlet is gently transferred into the bucket before being safely brought down to the ground. Now under specialized care, the growing owlets are being safely housed and fed while rehabilitation staff prepare them for eventual release back into the wild once they are fully independent. Sarah said: “The video shows the careful, urgent work our nonprofit wildlife center does to save orphaned animals.” Viewers praised the rescue effort in the comments. One wrote: “Can’t imagine how many baby birds don’t get saved after their parents are taken away by an accident.” Another added: “Great rescue story. Love their hisses and clicks, signs of energy and heart.” ENDS
