BABY RACCOONS RESCUED FROM ATTIC AND REUNITED WITH MOM
WITH VID
BY LAKSHYARTHA SHARMA
Watch this clip where a family of unexpected tenants are discovered living just above a kitchen ceiling leading to a careful wildlife rescue.
Cassandra Gates from Ontario, Canada, was safely removing a litter of baby raccoons from the attic while Brad captured the heartwarming moment.
The footage shows the tiny animals being gently handled and placed in a secure container, ensuring they remain calm and unharmed throughout the process.
After the babies were taken out, the rescue team used a heated reunion box placed near the entry point, allowing the mother to safely retrieve her babies and relocate them together to a new den.

00:15I'm going to be quiet when I touch the house so that we don't scare the mum.
00:19She's lying on her baby right now.
00:25This is the roof vent where the raccoon is getting in.
00:28You can see that some of the plastic from the inside is torn out, completely come out.
00:33This is cracked and at first I thought maybe this whole vent would pop off but she didn't even pop
00:39it off the tabs.
00:40She's just lifting this up and going in that way so she's really squeezing herself to get in and out.
00:46But it closes and it's almost like a trap door where you don't even know that she went in other
00:52than seeing that it was torn up.
00:54And she's torn a shingle off so she didn't have to try too hard to get in but it just
00:59shows how easy the plastic is to break and squeeze right in.
01:03So she's just going through there into the attic and she's going over to that side where she's lying with
01:09her babies right now.
01:10So that's on the other side of the skylight and they're hearing it in the kitchen because this is the
01:15roof right above the kitchen.
01:29Oh there are the babies, look. Right there. So when we popped it open this was in the way.
01:34Move it away and there are the babies.
01:38So mom moved while we were doing all that which makes sense. Very cool. They look pretty young.
01:45And they're right up against the side of that skylight. Lots of insulation in here.
01:53She hasn't come out because I can see the other vent.
01:59So it looks like there's at least four. Might be more.
02:03So we'll be able to use these grabbers and grab each one.
02:06I'm going to grab the first baby. I actually could probably grab just my hands but I'll use the grabbers.
02:13We'll have the first baby coming up. There's snow with her eyes closed.
02:20We'll watch for mom so that's number one.
02:32It's okay.
02:34We've got number two coming up.
02:38They're noisy. They all want to cry.
02:40Okay. Let's move it to. Eyes closed. Very cold. Still tiny.
02:52It's okay.
02:53They are moving a bit. If you guys want to hurry a little.
03:01Number five.
03:05Their eyes are closed. Their ears, they can't hear anything.
03:10No sign of mom but she is in there. She would be with her babies day in the day.
03:19He stops crying as soon as someone's holding him.
03:22Oh.
03:22Nope. There he goes.
03:23Hope I get to make her at the church when she's gone if she's walking in the night too if
03:25she doesn't go.
03:42Love you guys.
03:52It's okay.
03:53Ok.
04:11I'm going to see you next time.
