00:00you'd be forgiven if you didn't know that there were supposed to be new U.S.-led strikes on Iran
00:05today. No one outside of a select few did know. That was until President Trump called off the
00:11private plans publicly, posting that he was asked by leaders in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United
00:17Arab Emirates to pump the brakes since, quote, serious negotiations are now taking place.
00:21The president did leave open the possibility of attacks in the future, saying that he told the
00:26U.S. military leaders to, quote, be prepared to go forward with a full, large-scale assault of Iran
00:32on a moment's notice in the event that an acceptable deal is not reached. Monday's developments followed
00:37news out of Tehran that the country's president, Massoud Pazeshkian, admitted that his country,
00:42quote, suffered harm from the U.S. and Israeli strikes and urged officials to face the reality
00:47of war. But if that sounds to you like he was capitulating to the U.S. in some way, he
00:52then
00:52said this, quote, we will not sacrifice our country's dignity and honor for comfort or
00:56convenience. We are fully capable of defending our nation's rights with strength backed by our people.
