00:00the teen takeovers in that area of Navy Yard
00:03that have happened to the point where now
00:04they have to put a special curfew out.
00:07Oh, yeah.
00:08Things are just out of control.
00:10I mean, that video, if you're in that Chipotle
00:13and you get caught in the middle of that,
00:15I mean...
00:15We saw the one guy with the red shirt and his kids
00:18kind of hiding behind a pillar.
00:20Yeah, can you imagine being terrified there?
00:22Trapped in a corner of the restaurant.
00:23You just went to a game,
00:24and you want to get a little food afterwards or whatever?
00:26Yeah.
00:27Or before a game, whatever.
00:28Whatever the timing of it was.
00:30It's horrifying.
00:31I mean, there is zero chance
00:34that I would stop for food on the way to
00:36or out of a Nats game.
00:38Even before seeing this video.
00:40Yeah, but it depends on the spot.
00:41We've gone to Circa.
00:43Okay, I've done it before.
00:44Yeah.
00:45Probably not at night.
00:47Maybe for a day game.
00:47Maybe like a pregame.
00:48I'm not going to do it at 5 o'clock.
00:50There's too much going on in that little section.
00:53We go to the bullpen.
00:55We'll be at the bullpen Tuesday.
00:56If you want to say hi to Vin, come up and say hello.
00:58Maybe that's a safe haven.
01:00I don't know.
01:01I would be hesitant to frequent any of those businesses.
01:04Here's what I thought of, actually, when I saw it.
01:06And it's a mess, what's going on.
01:09I know it's controversial, but I always enjoy...
01:12I don't mind seeing the National Guard guys around
01:14because I feel like to keep things in order.
01:16I guess they just didn't have enough.
01:17I guess they weren't nearby.
01:18Yeah.
01:19Because that would not happen with those guys there.
01:20I just saw the Metropolitan Police officers show up.
01:23Yeah.
01:23I didn't see the National Guard.
01:25I mean, not only do you have that,
01:26then you've got the people that are walking by as it's happening,
01:28just 20 of them filming in the entranceway to the restaurant.
01:33Of course.
01:34Just making things worse.
01:35The good news, thank God,
01:36they were just being idiots throwing chairs at each other.
01:39There was no shooting.
01:39Nobody pulled a gun out, which would be terrifying.
01:42I'm trying to surprise.
01:42I mean, you could kill somebody by hitting them on the head
01:45with a booster seat or a chair.
01:48I'm not minimizing it,
01:49but I'm just saying, thank God they didn't go to the next level.
01:52Yeah, it could have been worse.
01:53They were going after each other.
01:54What time did this happen?
01:55Still, you don't know that.
01:56I don't know.
01:57I don't know the time.
01:58Probably around 9 o'clock.
02:00I mean, Chipotle probably closes at 10, right?
02:02Yeah, I don't have an exact time on it.
02:04I've seen some Chipotles close later than that.
02:06It's just happening a lot around here.
02:09And it always happens on the weekends.
02:12During the week, it's usually pretty clean,
02:14but weekends, it gets nuts.
02:16This happened on Saturday night.
02:18Friday night.
02:19No.
02:19I think it was Saturday.
02:21Watching it, the guys are all kind of wearing the same clothes.
02:24They're beating up on each other.
02:25I didn't know who to throw a chair at.
02:28They're probably just a bunch of, I mean, I would say like.
02:30They're all dressed alike.
02:32Well, they know each other.
02:33Yeah, they're a bunch of friends.
02:35A lot of teenagers dress.
02:36They dress all in those black shirts.
02:37They literally are dressed alike.
02:39It wasn't like, oh, somebody was wearing a color or something.
02:42Or they were just wearing different clothes.
02:44They were literally all wearing like the same clothes.
02:46They're all wearing like black hoodies from the looks of the home.
02:48Yeah.
02:49Or variants.
02:50I was watching this going, well, who's on what side?
02:52I couldn't figure it out.
02:53By the way, their buddies.
02:53I mean, look, I know we're old, but when we hug out with our buddies when we were this
02:59age, we weren't terrorizing a restaurant and hitting each other over the head with baby
03:05seats.
03:06No, but you were in a bar fight or an outside the bar fight.
03:09That was an isolated incident.
03:10I know.
03:11It wasn't 25 or 30 people like taking over an entire restaurant and brawling.
03:17Was it that many?
03:17It looked like to me like it was about a dozen.
03:19It looks like 20 people.
03:20It was enough to put it this way.
03:21It's enough to terrify you.
03:22If you were there with your daughter, she'd have been screaming.
03:24I'd be terrified if it was two people.
03:25Yeah.
03:26I'm just saying.
03:26I don't think it was 25 people.
03:28I mean, it looks like a lot of people.
03:29Maybe 15.
03:30I don't know.
03:32It's enough to terrify you.
03:33And the problem is it's been happening a lot, this kind of stuff.
03:36I don't know what's going on.
03:38No idea.
03:40I mean, does the Metropolitan Police, they must need to hire more people.
03:46I mean, they're always down there.
03:48They're breaking out all the time.
03:49They're always down there.
03:50It seems like they're trying to curtail it, but whatever they're doing is not working.
03:54Yeah.
03:54They keep the lights on and the sirens.
03:56They keep them all on.
03:58And they just park around the Navy Yard.
03:59Well, it's not working.
04:02I mean, this video tells me whatever they're doing is not working.
04:05They need to be not in their cars with the lights on.
04:08They need to be patrolling the park.
04:10I mean, that Chipotle is across the street from the park.
04:13It's always in the same area.
04:15Every one of these stories in Navy Yard is on the same block.
04:17It went on that long before anything.
04:20Yeah.
04:21Are the National Guard guys around 24-7 or just during a day?
04:24Yeah, that's a good question.
04:25I see them during a day.
04:26Always see them during a day.
04:27Yeah, I always see them during a day when I'm leaving.
04:29Maybe not.
04:31Yeah, I mean, for me, the more security, the better.
04:35But this is a small brawl compared to what we usually see in the Navy Yard, next to where
04:44you were doing the bike riding lesson.
04:47Right.
04:48Usually, because there's not 15 guys.
04:50There's like 100.
04:52That little square is like the epicenter of the team takeovers.
04:56But think about it.
04:56These guys are hitting.
04:57I mean, you could definitely concuss a guy.
05:01You could definitely crack a guy's head open with some of the stuff they were doing.
05:03It reminds me of a quote I heard from somebody recently who said, he was talking to a police
05:08chief, and he said, what keeps you up at night?
05:11And the police chief said, there's a percentage of the population that will rob you and kill
05:20you for $5, go buy a hamburger, and never think about you ever again.
05:24They have zero remorse.
05:26I'm not saying these kids would do that.
05:28But I'm saying there's just a percentage of the population.
05:30And it goes through all.
05:32There's a craziness that we have in our culture through all ages, all backgrounds.
05:39There's a psychopath part that we just have to deal with.
05:44They'll kill you for $5, go buy a hamburger, and not think twice about it.
05:48But I feel like these kids, they know that there's a curfew, and they know that the city
05:52is trying to keep them inside after 11 o'clock.
05:55I feel like it's a challenge for them, because they don't care about the curfew.
06:00They're out there.
06:01Yeah.
06:02I don't know what the next answer is for the Metropolitan Police.
06:07They seem like they can't get a handle on these teen takeovers.
06:11Maybe the fact that they've been out there as much as they have, maybe it has cut down
06:14a little bit.
06:15Yeah.
06:16But I mean, I know business owners in this area, and they can't stand it.
06:20Oh, I'm sure.
06:21And they're terrified of it.
06:22It negatively impacts their businesses.
06:24I mean, their employees, sometimes their employees, after work, after their shift's over, they've
06:28got to be escorted to their cars by cops.
06:33Yeah.
06:33It's a bad scene.
06:35I know.
06:36I think we need more patrolling.
06:39We need more security.
06:41Deterrence.
06:43That was scary.
06:44I know people don't like it.
06:44How about the shooting in Riverdale?
06:47See that?
06:48The car turned over?
06:49Oh, yeah.
06:49That guy was a one-man crime spree that hit like three different spots in PG County on Friday.
06:56He finally, I think, was caught off a good luck road.
06:59And the thing that threw me when I saw him was his age.
07:04You see how old he was?
07:05Was he in his 60s?
07:06He was 68 years old.
07:07What happened to him?
07:08He just lost his marble.
07:09I don't know.
07:09He was like, I don't know the exact timeline, but he was shooting with a rifle from his car.
07:16That's exactly what I was speaking to.
07:17There's a certain percentage of the population.
07:19It doesn't matter.
07:20You can't pinpoint it.
07:22Then I think he went to Greenbelt Middle School or outside of Greenbelt Middle School and was shooting around there.
07:26Yeah, he was right there.
07:27Then he carjacked somebody.
07:28Just had a break from reality.
07:29It happened in the afternoon.
07:30I guess.
07:31I think it was Friday afternoon.
07:33Like three o'clock.
07:34Yeah.
07:34It was broad daylight.
07:37But you're still getting after it like that when you're almost 70 years old.
07:41That's great.
07:41Well, he's a psychopath.
07:43Correct.
07:43Larry James Simpson of Glen Burnie.
07:47That's him.
07:48Charged with 66 offenses.
07:5166 offenses.
07:52The spree began in College Park around 2.30 p.m.
07:55Jesus.
07:56He was driving his Chevy Impala.
07:58Struck another car.
07:59Flipped it.
08:01Left the car and carjacked a Nissan.
08:04Yep.
08:05Shooting four people in the process.
08:06Happened right near my cousin's house.
08:08Well, he's going to be in jail for the rest of his life, I would think.
08:11Not much left.
08:13I mean, he's 68.
08:14Yeah.
08:15He definitely went out with a blaze of glory.
08:17What an idiot.
08:18In glory or whatever.
08:20So, there's a lot going on in the area over the weekend.
08:23Kind of sad.
08:24Well, we'll be at the bullpen.
08:25We'll be celebrating.
08:26If I see anybody.
08:27Your guy, Vinny, loves the bullpen.
08:29I'll hide.
08:30Is that his favorite bar ever?
08:32Yes.
08:32He loves the bullpen more than any spot in New York.
08:35Vin is the epitome of a guy's guy.
08:37All he wants to do is drink, gamble, and play golf.
08:40He just wants to get in the bullpen and get like a 20-plus ounce Surfside in his hand.
08:45And just have a good day.
08:47He'll have the biggest smile.
08:49Yeah.
08:49Because there'll be all those outdoor vendors.
08:51Yeah.
08:51And he's just hanging out with bros, watching baseball.
08:55We're getting ready to go to the game.
08:56I'm going to buy some counterfeit Mets merchandise on the way into the game.
09:00I'm going to buy a $10 hat.
09:02He wouldn't be averse to it.
09:03I'm sure he wouldn't.
09:04He wouldn't be averse.
09:04He's going to literally be a pig in...
09:06What's that?
09:07Pig in ass.
09:08Yeah.
09:08Yeah.
09:10So happy.
09:11He'll be in his element.
09:12In fact, he'd be perfectly happy staying at the bullpen.
09:15He didn't even need to go to the game.
09:17He didn't even need to go to the game.
09:18Yeah.
09:18Just hang out there.
09:19Yeah.
09:19Watch the game on all the TVs.
09:21Exactly.
09:22Coming up next, we'll get into the NFL.
09:24Aaron Rodgers is officially making his return.
