00:01If you've ever found yourself facing a game night time crunch, or had a case of blank page paralysis trying
00:08to prep a campaign, this video is for you.
00:11You can make a nearly instant map in Dungeon Scroll, no installation or subscription required, you don't even need an
00:19account.
00:20Just open the app in your browser, go to File, and click Create Random.
00:24Just like that, a dungeon materializes on your canvas like magic.
00:31It's not magic, it's math!
00:33Algorithms use rules-based logic to configure dungeon layouts, no training data, no model, and no scraping existing maps.
00:41To view the tool's settings, click this button in the sidebar menu to open the random dungeon panel.
00:47The Generate Dungeon button works the same as the File menu option by applying common setting defaults to create a
00:53one-click dungeon in seconds.
00:55But wait!
00:57You can customize the size of your map, the quality and size of its rooms, the length and width of
01:02your corridors, and the general shape of its layout.
01:05Choose the number of doors included, the shapes of your rooms, and the roughness of the lines, giving you tons
01:11of control over the final map.
01:14Let's try it out.
01:16Say you need a simple map in the middle of your game because your players wandered into a building you
01:21didn't think they would notice.
01:23Try this, and keep in mind that small-sized maps work perfectly with the Roll20 Connect feature if you want
01:30to drop them into a campaign in progress to use right away.
01:33How about a slightly larger map for a one-shot prison escape?
01:38Let's try these settings instead.
01:40If you don't like the result, click the button again and make a new one.
01:45Every time you generate a new map, you'll see this warning, since overwriting it isn't undoable.
01:51Make sure you save what's on your screen if you don't want to lose it by accident.
01:55Pro subscribers, don't worry. Generating a gajillion dungeons won't fill your cloud library.
02:02Random dungeons will only autosave once you make changes to them.
02:06Let's make one more map, since it's completely unlimited. How about a series of underground caverns that your party can
02:13explore over the course of several sessions?
02:16Once you're happy with what you've generated, your next steps are up to you.
02:19If you like a simple, old-school map like this, use the export panel to save a copy. You can
02:25print it or use it on your preferred VTT.
02:29Otherwise, you can edit random dungeons just like any map in Dungeon Scrawl.
02:34Use presets for quick style changes or fine-tune using layer settings to fit a specific theme.
02:42Add or remove rooms or passages, walls, and stairs using the tools in the toolbar.
02:49Images can really bring your scene to life.
02:51In addition to the free Dungeon Scrawl library, you can upload tokens you've purchased elsewhere, like this awesome set from
02:58Mark Drummond J on the Roll20 Marketplace.
03:01Dungeon Scrawl makes it easy to put an idea on the page.
03:04And with random dungeons, you can use all the time saved getting started, adding detail to your campaign to make
03:11it more enjoyable for your players.
03:13Let us know how you're using random dungeons, and happy scrawling!
03:17like, Youtube to put some dumb, you better finish up just for fun.
03:19Also, on instagram.
03:19We can get a Jungf but can totally have theatre instead of converting you to a brand new sign faites
03:19until it hits the same Birazgeon Scrawl.
03:19Then we could still stick around.
