01:17and now I'm moving to a new country, and I'm buying my first house.
01:25My family thinks I am insane, absolutely insane, but the fact that Savannah has been here for years,
01:33she already went through this entire process, I think it's just going to help me navigate through
01:38some of the things that she had to figure out a little bit easier. I'm really, really excited
01:42to be here permanently. Yeah, me too. It's going to be so nice. I think it's super respectable to be
01:48able to want something and go after it, being able to purchase and own a property here, especially for
01:53someone our age. Subtle flex. Subtle flex. I'm excited for you to have your own place. I hope we
02:00can find something quickly. I am kind of in a rush to find a house. I've pretty much sold everything
02:05that I've had in the States. I'm staying with Savannah, and I do have a dog that I want to

02:37finally make this jump. It's time. So, I actually met Beth on one of my vacations. We just were in,
02:44like, mutual friend group, found out she was a realtor, and just kind of opened that conversation
02:47there. Are you nervous? Definitely a little bit nervous, but I'm ready. Where are you thinking
02:51you want to land? You know, somewhere where I can kind of get this vibe every day. Not, like,
02:55off-grid. We need a full internet. In the mix, but not, like, mixed up. I think Hakko's a bit

03:01uncut gem. It's not this bougie, fancy place. You can still be down-to-earth, but there's also this
03:08special small town while you still get this raw, real culture of Costa Rica. I know a lot of towns
03:14have kind of lost that, but we still hold that near and dear here. This is beautiful. Isn't it?
03:18Is this in my budget? We can talk about that. The market here in Hakko is somewhat of a tourist,
03:24seasonal market, so it does manipulate the market a little bit. However, I would say it's very affordable,
03:30so give me the real deal on what you're looking for. I'm looking for a house that's going to be,
03:35like,
03:35nature-y vibes, but also close to the city. Definitely, like, two bedrooms, two bathrooms.
03:41Very important, two bathrooms. Okay. I want to make sure there's room for guests when they come,
03:45and, like, I would love to pool. High-rise? Home? Is there a preference? I think you want a home.

03:51you want the outdoor space. Yeah, definitely. And a yard. You know, I'd love to bring my dog down here.
03:56I know you want, like, the nature vibe, but you also want, like, something, like, more modern,

04:06kind of make it my own. Don't listen to her. She needs it, like, packaged, ready to go. Like,

05:02levels here start around the $200,000, and they can go up to about the $3 million mark. Check out
05:08this house. Five bedrooms, six bathrooms, infinity pool. This is absolutely insane. Is this in the
05:15budget? Two kitchens. They actually purchased this a couple years ago for $750,000, and now it's on the
05:20market for $1.5 million. So, it just goes to show you what your investment can do. Is the current

06:05so this is going to be a two-bedroom, two-bath, and it's all modern. Let's go take a look.

06:53behind you here in the living room. It all stays with the property. Yeah, I don't know if that's going
06:58to stay with the property. They look a little lived in. Yeah, it is a very small space, and there's

07:03really room for, like, a dining table or anything like that, but I love the vaulted ceilings. It feels very,
07:08like, open. Let's take a peek at the bedroom. Ooh, nice tall ceilings. A lot of natural light.
07:15Super small, though. It does feel very tight in here. I'm kind of the girl that is led a little
07:21bit bold by my head and my heart. I definitely get my, like, adventurous spirit from following my
07:27heart and just jumping into things that I think I would love, but I also have to think with my

07:32in regards to choosing a house that's going to be a good investment, something I'm going to love for
07:36a long time, and just something that I'm not going to lose a lot of money on. Oh, nice space.

07:47more than the bedroom. So this is going to be your second bedroom. Double bed. That's a little bit of

08:47house. The bedroom was really small. Yeah, king bed wouldn't fit in there. No. I like to sleep like a
08:53starfish, so. It is super central, but I don't know if it's going to be a little too central. Like,
08:58parts of the year, we have really big festivals here. It's super loud in the city, but I think
09:03that you might enjoy being a little bit more surrounded by nature. Yeah, like more in the
09:07mountains, kind of that vibe. I think this might be a little bit of a reality check for Taylor.
09:11You know, we're inching up on her budget there with quite a few negatives on her long list of items
09:15that she did give me. You're going to love this space. Yeah, being in the rain forest and it's
09:32raining. When you listen closely, you might be able to hear some monkeys. We are really just yin and yang.
09:36Like, I am very go, go, go. But the reason I'm moving here is because I want that more like
09:42tranquilo lifestyle and immediately I make friends with the yoga teacher.

10:02It works really great because she balances me. I like the chill that she brings to the table.

10:14important here when you're away from your family, to have someone here that you know cares about you

10:37This property is located in Quebrada Bonita. It's a little bit more countryside, more mountainous.
10:43I think what's perfect about here is you're just on the outskirts where you're still considered hako.
10:47You're five minutes from town and bike ride-wise about 15 minutes to the beach.
10:51Welcome to my side of town. You can still get things delivered from town if you need to.
10:56It looks like they're doing a lot of construction around here too.
10:58This is a upcoming area. This should be all be paved within the next year or so.

11:11but it's pretty secure and it's super modern inside.

12:15invite into her life, being able to be surrounded by nature. More importantly, being able to be

13:43or just buy something turnkey? But when somebody says something is up and coming, shows me there's

14:09This town is very small. The entire town is walkable and that's really what makes it fun is you kind

14:37I will say that it helps to be a bilingual baddie. Yeah, I mean, Spanish is the most romantic language.

15:23through, you'll see a bunch of cute little shops on the highway. Today, I'm going to show Taylor a
15:28property that's the best of both worlds. It's outside of town and it's a brand new build that's
15:33ultra ready to go. I'm loving this drive. However, she might have to stretch her budget with a little
15:39wiggle room. In terms of Haco, we're about a five minute drive to town and the beach is about a
15:45three minute drive from here. There's lots of great dining on the beach here and it's beautiful to
15:49watch the surfers. Super cute. You definitely get more of a taste of Costa Rica in this community.

17:43easily just jump into and day one be able to live in that kind of environment. I'm obsessed.

17:55To be honest about this house, this is exactly what I thought of when I thought of living in Costa
18:01Rica. She might need a second or third job for it, but you know. 30,000, it's not that much

18:16It just would be so amazing to live here and just be able to open the windows,

18:27but I just don't see how that's going to be possible with the budget that you have.

19:46You're going to have to do some work to the nature villa. If you'd rather get a cheaper house,
19:51put some work into it, see what happens in the future, that's kind of the long-haul game.
19:55Or Lapa living. You know what you're buying today. You don't have to do anything. You move right in.

20:48in this house, but considering this is my first home, I got a killer deal. I ended up getting the
20:54house for $200,000, $50,000 less than the selling price. It does allow me to make some updates, maybe

21:07I mean, this is his best life. When I was visiting, that Pura Vida lifestyle is exactly what I was
21:13coming for, and I definitely think I found what I was chasing. Since moving here, I have learned so
21:20much about myself. This slow lifestyle has just made me realize just, like, how to really appreciate
21:25the day-to-day. Love the little things, be a part of nature, and I get to do it every
21:31day now.
